In the Search-Mode a relationship is established between these rectangles (picture changes) and the marking drawn by you. Draw mode The draw mode influences the display of the existing picture changes. Rectangle If you have activated Rectangle in the draw mode, all the changes are each displayed with a rectangle, whereby rectangles may also be positioned partially on top of each other. If you have not activated Rectangle in the draw mode, adjacent and overlapping rectangles are combined into a single area. 39

Fig Rectangle activated Fig Rectangle not activated Intersection If you have activated Intersection in the draw mode, only those rectangles are displayed that are linked correspondingly with the marking drawn by you, depending on the search method (see Search mode). If you have not activated Intersection, all the rectangles are displayed. Fig Intersection activated 40

Fig Intersection not activated Search Mode The selection in the Search Mode field are theoretically used to specify the search method and thus the number of relevant events. Balance Point Search The rectangles that mark a figure change have an imaginary geometric balance point assigned. If Balance Point Search is activated, a hit is always listed when this geometric balance point lies within the marking drawn by you. Fig Balance point within the marking = Hit Fig Balance point outside the marking = No hit 41

Intersection Search If Intersection Search is activated, you already obtain a search result when a rectangle of a figure change intersects the marking drawn by you by even the smallest amount. The geometric balance point is not of relevance then. Fig Rectangles intersect the marking = Hit General comparison of the search modes If one compares the two search modes, it becomes clear that more search results (hits) result during an intersection search than during a balance point search. However, there is a danger at a balance point search that too few search results are available and that a relevant event is not listed. If you cannot define the search range (marking) exactly at first, you should first activate the intersection search mode. After a rough analysis you can set your marking again and specify a narrower selection with the balance point search. 8.6 Use Database In the Camera settings dialogue (see documentation entitled Configuration and Data) you can decide whether the recording should be made using the database (DB). Index search and Advanced search allow to access the database. Click on the DB button to toggle between Use DB and Do not use DB. Fig We recommend that you use the software setting. If the result is unsatisfactory, you may attempt to improve performance by switch the DB on or off. 42

9 Export and Import 9.1 Export The recordings can be saved (exported) on an external medium as single image or sequence. These single images and sequences can be evaluated afterwards with another recorder or with a PC and the appropriate Dallmeier software (PView, ProcessViewer Pro). The exported images meet the Kalagate requirements as well as the recordings Detailed Export The detailed export is activated in the recorder s default configuration. It allows the exact definition of the relevant images, sequences and tracks. First step is the selection of the relevant single images and sequences. They will be displayed all together in an export list where several export options can be set. The export will be started after the selection of the export medium. The export list always refers to the current playback. The export list will be erased if the current playback mode is quit Selection Proceed as follows in order to select the relevant single images or sequences: ¾Switch to playback mode (see chapter Track selection). Fig. 9-1 ¾Select the relevant track with a click on the appropriate camera button (green button = current track). ¾Search the first image of the relevant sequence (see chapter Playback control). ¾Click the export button. ¾Click Sequence start. ¾Search the last image of the relevant sequence. ¾Click the export button. ¾Click Sequence end. ¾Click Cameras
