Once mounted, a user s elocker appears as a local drive. The elocker can then be accessed from the desktop of a Windows or Macintosh workstation as well as from within Studywiz.

1 What is a WebDAV elocker? The WebDAV component of Studywiz makes it easy for teachers, students and parents to use their Studywiz elocker as a web-based storage location that can be accessed from anywhere. Once mounted, a user s elocker appears as a local drive. The elocker can then be accessed from the desktop of a Windows or Macintosh workstation as well as from within Studywiz. Studywiz WebDAV elockers allow you to upload and download files in bulk, and to easily move files between Studywiz and any computer on which you are working. You do this by mounting your elocker on any internet-connected computer and using it as if it were a hard disk or a USB flash drive. When you copy files to your WebDAV elocker, they appear in your Studywiz elocker - and vice-versa. This provides an easy method for you to back up and access files anytime, anywhere! Follow the instructions in this document to open your WebDAV elocker, and to move files between your elocker and other locations on your computer. Opening a WebDAV elocker Using OS X 1. Open Finder. 2. From the Go menu select Connect to Server (or press Command + K): The Connect To Server dialog box appears. 1

2 3. In the Server Address field, enter the URL of your personal elocker. (The URL is in the format Studywiz address>/elocker/<studywiz user name>.) 4. Click Connect. The WebDAV File System Authentication dialogue box appears. 5. Enter your Studywiz user name and password 6. Click OK. A Finder window opens, and your elocker appears as a network drive in the left-hand panel. 2

From the File menu select Open (or press CTRL + O).

3 You can now access the elocker just as you would access any other drive. Using Windows 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. From the File menu select Open (or press CTRL + O).(Note that in Internet Explorer 7 you may need to press ALT to view the File menu.) The Open dialog box appears. 3

Opening, copying and deleting files In OS X, files can be opened directly from the WebDAV elocker

Similarly, changes made to the elocker using Studywiz will be reflected in WebDAV: 6

8 The following message appears when I try to copy files to my elocker or when I rename a WebDAV file/folder in Windows The path length limit in Windows has been reached. If attempting to copy files or folders to the elocker, try placing them at the top level of the drive (rather than in a sub-folder), or reduce the number of subfolders in the folder you are attempting to copy. If attempting to create or rename a folder or file, try using a shorter file name. 8
