2 Description To integrate business applications and processes, you must first connect your disparate application and information assets into a coherent framework. This connectivity is critical to leverage these assets in new and flexible business service applications, and to extend and grow the return on investment in those solutions. Elimination of ongoing manual coding and custom interface maintenance can enhance the business flexibility of your IT infrastructure. WebSphere Adapters V6.2 provide a standard interface to enable these applications, insulating them from the details of information storage and retrieval. Adapters participate in a service oriented architecture (SOA) by providing service enablement, service discovery, event capture, and a toolkit to build your own custom adapters. WebSphere Adapters V6.2 provides the following Java tm Enterprise Edition (JEE) Connector Architecture (JCA) 1.5-compatible adapters and tools: V6.2 of the WebSphere Adapter for SAP Software enables bi-directional integration with SAP applications. This JCA resource adapter leverages Java APIs to access Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) change parameters through Remote Function Call (RFC), and also to provide the bi-directional exchange of IDocs through Application Link Enabling (ALE). V6.2 of the WebSphere Adapter for Siebel Business Applications on WebSphere Application Server leverages the Siebel Java Data Bean Object API to enable bi-directional integration with Siebel Business Applications. V6.2 of the WebSphere Adapter for Oracle E-Business Suite on WebSphere Application Server provides bi-directional JDBC support for interface tables, concurrent programs, PL/ SQL APIs, base tables and views. Also supports event polling, database triggers, or Business Event System (BES) for events. V6.2 of the WebSphere Adapter for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne on WebSphere Application Server provides bi-directional integration to the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne suite. This JCA resource adapter supports the Dynamic Java Connector API with Business Functions and the list widget class XMList. V6.2 of the WebSphere Adapter for PeopleSoft Enterprise on WebSphere Application Server provide bi-directional, real-time integration to PeopleSoft Enterprise. It interacts with PeopleSoft through the PeopleTools Component Interface Java API. WebSphere Adapter Toolkit V6.2 enables customers and IBM Business Partners to develop custom adapters to meet unique business requirements. The toolkit helps to create either a basic JCA 1.5 adapter, or an adapter which leverages the additional capabilities of the Adapter Foundation Classes utilized by the pre-built WebSphere Adapters. These custom adapters can be run on WebSphere Process Server, WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus, or WebSphere Application Server. 3 WebSphere Adapters V6.2 Detail V6.2 of WebSphere Adapter for SAP Software enables bi-directional integration with SAP applications. This JCA resource adapter leverages Java APIs to access BAPI change parameters through RFC, and also to provide the bi-directional exchange of IDocs through ALE. The adapter implements the Enterprise Metadata Discovery (EMD) specification to generate service descriptions and configuration artifacts for BAPIs, RFCs, and IDocs. SAP applications can call into the adapter for synchronous processing as if it were another SAP application. The EMD generates the appropriate configurations and the adapter services RFC calls from SAP applications and provides a response to the originating application. IDOC service artifacts can be generated by loading the definitions from either a file or an SAP System. Bidirectional communication via qrfc protocol with the SAP system is supported. V6.2 of the WebSphere Adapter for Siebel Business Applications on WebSphere Application Server enables bi-directional integration with Siebel Business Applications. This JCA resource adapter leverages the Siebel Java Data Bean Object API to access Application Service Interfaces (ASIs), Business Services, and Integration Objects. The adapter implements EMD to generate service descriptions and configuration artifacts for Integration Objects and ASIs. Support for Business Object, Business Component, and Search expression support for Business Components support is included. V6.2 of the WebSphere Adapter for Oracle E-Business Suite -- Oracle E-Business Suite is a fully integrated, comprehensive modular suite of business enterprise applications. This JCA resource adapter provides JDBC support for interface tables, concurrent programs, PL/SQL APIs, base tables and views. This JCA resource adapter supports the Dynamic Java Connector API with Business Functions and the list widget class XMList. Real Time Events are also supported. V6.2 of the WebSphere Adapter for PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleSoft Enterprise is a suite of modular industry specific business applications for Customer Relationship Management (CRM). This JCA resource adapter provides bi-directional, real-time integration between PeopleSoft Enterprise versions and other e-commerce, CRM, supply chain, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications. It interacts with PeopleSoft through the PeopleTools Component Interface Java API. WebSphere Adapter Toolkit V6.2 enables customers and IBM Business Partners to develop custom adapters to meet unique business requirements. The toolkit helps to create either a basic JCA 1.5 adapter, or an adapter, which leverages the additional capabilities of the Adapter Foundation Classes utilized by WebSphere Adapters. This Eclipse-based toolkit includes the following: A wizard creates an adapter project including the Java code stubs for the appropriate adapter classes. The Adapter Foundation Classes provide a consistent implementation for WebSphere Adapters based on JCA 1.5. A graphical Resource Adapter Deployment Descriptor Editor eases creation and modification of the XML deployment descriptor file. Two sample adapters and their associated enterprise applications are provided with source. The sample adapters leverage Adapter Foundation Classes and implement EMD. Program technical support Technical support of a program product will be available for a minimum of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Subscription and Support (Software Maintenance) also provides you with access to updates, releases, and versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee. Money-back guarantee If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it.
