2 Description Workplace Web Content extends and accelerates IBM WebSphere Portal, reducing the development effort required to personalize the delivery of managed content and assets from Internet, intranet, and extranet sites. Workplace Web Content provides dynamic, personalized content that maximizes the flow of highly relevant, rapid, and accurate business information to meet growing expectations. There are a of Web content management solutions out there but few combine the flexibility, affordability, and power of Workplace Web Content. IBM Workplace Web Content software comes in two varieties, one for small and medium-sized business and the other for large organizations. IBM Workplace Web Content Standard Edition is an entry level offering for small to medium-sized businesses that has a limited license for 20 publishers and 4 CPUs maximum, and allows only a single hardware server to serve content for a live site. This offering is competitively priced per CPU and is a perfect alternative for customers, prospects, and Business ners who want a departmental or smaller deployment than is required by larger organizations. The full version of IBM Workplace Web Content has the same features as the Standard Edition but is not limited by license and is appropriate for large and very large enterprises. IBM Workplace Web Content is a flexible, scalable, and configurable Web content management system with a portlet-style front end that seamlessly integrates into the IBM Workplace and IBM WebSphere Portal environment. It is an open, standards-based product, including J2EE, that uses a point-and-click interface that gives your staff an instant way to find and personalize essential enterprise information instead of waiting indefinitely for it to be extracted from a multitude of repositories, systems, and obscure applications by overworked developers, and create their own portlets fast. With Workplace Web Content V6.0, advanced, rules-based personalization capabilities allow targeted information to be dynamically delivered to your employees, customers, suppliers, and partners via the WebSphere Portal environment. Enhanced authoring and administration capabilities allow Web content to be created and delivered more easily and effectively. Web page content is readable without the use of a pre-defined style sheet, allowing low vision users to enable their own style sheets that enhance their viewing preferences. Row and column headers are identified for blind users so the location and context of the table cell are clear and can be communicated by a screen reader. Meaningful text titles are used to describe the purpose of frames so blind users can easily navigate to the desired area. Web pages are designed so that repetitive navigation links can be skipped over, and blind users can navigate to the main content of the page more easily. Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act IBM Workplace Web Content is capable as of August 24, 2006, when used in accordance with IBM s associated documentation, of satisfying the applicable requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, provided that any assistive technology used with the product properly interoperates with it. For those machines running programs with sub-capacity licensing terms, you must use IBM Tivoli License Manager for IBM Software to monitor program use and submit to IBM an IBM Use Report each calendar quarter. Multiple copies of IBM Tivoli License Manager for IBM Software or IBM Tivoli License Manager are not required. You can use more copies if you need them to support your operational environment, but only one copy is required to monitor all your sub-capacity licensed products. Additionally, if this is the first product you have licensed under sub-capacity terms, you must agree to the terms of an attachment to your Passport Advantage or Passport Advantage Express contract and submit a new Passport Advantage enrollment form.
