11 I-495 HOT Lanes (Design-build) Scope: This project will build fourteen miles of new High Occupancy Tolls ( HOT ) lanes on I-495 between the Springfield Interchange and just north of the Dulles Toll Road. These HOT lanes will allow the Beltway to offer HOV-3 connections with I-95/395, I-66, and the Dulles Toll Road for the first time. Midasco is installing the highway signing for this project, which includes extensive overhead sign structures with static and variable message signing. Midasco is also a vital part in the design-build operation to incorporate cutting edge technology, such as new LED sign lighting on structures and value engineering construction practices. 12 I-495 and Telegraph Road Interchange / Improvements Scope: The Telegraph Road Interchange project involves the complete reconstruction of the existing interchange to include ramp improvements, bridge widening/lengthening and widening of the I-95/I-495 mainline roadway section from 2.1 miles west of Telegraph Road to 0.5 miles to the east. Midasco is performing the signing, lighting, and communication installation work, which includes extensive overhead sign structures and foundations. Midasco is also responsible for temporary relocation of existing fiber optics networks and installing side-fired vehicle detectors, CCTV systems, dynamic message signs, new communication infrastructure, and all associated underground work. 13 InterCounty Connector (ICC), Contract C (Design-build) Scope: The InterCounty Connector (ICC) will link existing and proposed development areas between the I-270/I-370 and I-95/US 1 corridors within central and eastern Montgomery County and northwestern Prince George s County with a state-of-the-art, limited access, eastwest highway. Midasco performed the lighting and intelligent transportation systems, which included extensive high-mast lighting, low-level lighting, electrical service installation, copper cabling, dynamic message signs, toll rate signs, CCTV systems, vehicle detection, toll system rough-in, and fiber optic cabling. Midasco was also a vital part in the large scale design-build operation to incorporate cutting edge technology on one of Maryland s largest construction projects to date.
