Intrductin PROS CS is Client-Server based sftware. The server is installed nly in ne PC (tgether with the client) and the client can be installed n mre PCs (withut installing the server n thse PCs). The client running n the same PC as the server des nt require USB Dngle t cnnect t the server. The client running n a remte PC requires USB Dngle t cnnect t the server. If yu use the client frm a remte PC, prt frwarding needs t be dne s the client can cnnect t the server. This is dne in the ruter cnnected t the Internet. The Prts that need t be frwarded can be fund in the Server cnfiguratin.. 5
Installatin guide 1. Yu can install the fllwing prducts with PROS CS setup: - Client nly - Client + Server - Client + Server + Web Server (fr generating reprts nly) 2. UPGRADING frm PROS Plus t PROS CS If yu are already using PROS Plus and want t upgrade t PROS CS, all yu need t d is uninstall PROS Plus and install PROS CS t the same lcatin. Imprtant nte: After uninstalling PROS Plus - d nt mve/delete the database flder and its cntents. PROS CS will cntinue using the same database as PROS Plus. 3. PROS CS Installatin steps 3.1. Installatin requirements PROS CS requires additinal cmpnents t be installed in rder t wrk prperly. If sme f the cmpnents are already installed, they will nt be shwn in this list (see picture bellw) Installatin flder PROS CS installatin flder can be changed during installatin 3.3. PROS CS Prducts There are three prducts included in the PROS CS setup: Client, Server and Web Server. - Client is the sftware that cnnects t the Server and it is used fr cnfiguring and maintaining hardware, users and ther cnfiguratins. - Server is the sftware that cmmunicates with the hardware and the clients (Client sftware) and reads/writes data int the database. - Web Server is the sftware used fr generating reprts frm an internet brwser (Internet Explrer, Ggle Chrme, Mzilla Firefx.). The installatin f the Server and Web Server is ptinal and if it is nt required yu can chse This feature will nt be available frm the setup windw. 6
3.4. Database requirements PROS CS can run either with Access 2007 database r with SQL database. If it runs with Access database NO extra cnfiguratin r installatin is needed. If it runs with SQL database and the database will be placed n the same PC as the Server, then installatin f SQL Server Express is required. The setting shwn n the picture bellw MUST be set when installing SQL Server. The passwrd entered in the field is required (shuld write it dwn fr future use f SQL Server). All ther settings shuld be left as their default values. Minimum SQL requirements are SQL Server 2008 R2 r SQL Express 2008 R2. SQL Express 2008 R2 can be dwnladed frm (Dwnlad the file - SQLEXPRWT_x86_ENU.exe). 7
Server Setup Making changes t Server cnfiguratin and changing the Database type (SQL r Access) is dne with PROS CS Setup. (Start->All Prgrams->Videx->PROS CS->PROS CS Setup) Default values fr lgin are: - Operatr name: Admin - Passwrd: admin and can be changed later in the Client. 8
1. Server Cnfiguratin In the Server Setup windw yu can see the Server status in the tp f the windw, the prts used fr cmmunicatin between the Client and the Server, and the buttns fr starting, stpping and remving the Server service (The Server is running as a windws service, nt as a standard windws applicatin). After installing the Server, it is started autmatically s yu dn t need t d extra cnfiguratin. But, if yu can t cnnect with the Client t the Server, please first check the server status if it is RUNNING. - START buttn registers the Server as a windws service and starts it immediately - STOP buttn stps the Server - REMOVE buttn stps the Server and remves it frm windws services Nte: Yu dn t need t press the APPLY buttn after pressing the START, STOP r REMOVE buttn. 9
2. Database cnfiguratin If yu want t change the Database type used fr string data in the sftware yu can chse frm the ptins either MS Access r SQL. If SQL is chsen the fllwing screen appear SQL database can be at its default lcatin (in PROS CS installatin flder) and attached t lcal SQL Server Express r it can be n a remte SQL Server and attached t it (the lcatin f the database that needs t be attached n the remte SQL Server is: Videx\PROS Plus\Blank Database ). If secnd ptin is chsen the fllwing screen appears 10
Here, SQL Server address and lgin credentials are entered (these settings are prvided by the SQL Server administratr). After chsing SQL database lcatin, cnnectin with the server must be tested (Test Cnnectin buttn) s that the settings can be applied. After this dialg appears, Apply buttn is enabled and database setup is finished. If sme errr dialg bx appears instead f the ne in the picture, smething is nt set crrectly. Mst cmmn issues are: SQL Server is nt installed n lcal PC (if Default database lcatin chsen) SQL Server is installed but authenticatin mde is Windws authenticatin mde nt Mixed mde Prblem in lcal netwrk/internet cnnectin (if Nt default database lcatin chsen). Nt all parameters are crrect IP Address, Prt, User, Passwrd, Security ( if Nt default database lcatin chsen). Client Setup Client setup is made thrugh the menu Settings->Servers. Here yu can change r add new Servers. The default server is Lcal (Lcal = the Client is n the same PC as the Server). If yur Server is n a remte PC 11
(nt the same PC as the Client) then yu will need t add new Server with the IP address f the remte PC and the prt (Events prt) cnfigured in the Server Setup (default is 54321). Client keeps lcal cache fr each Server in rder t speed up the cnnecting prcedure with the server (necessary data fr client t run is taken frm the Server nly nce, and each next cnnectin takes nly the new changes made) After cnfiguring the Servers, yu can chse a Server frm the Cnnect T menu in the tp-right crner f the Client. Right-click n the Wrkgrup item and select Add Wrkgrup Enter the name f the wrkgrup and select the Entry and Exit readers that this wrkgrup will use. It is recmmended that different readers be used fr registratin f Entry and Exit. If the same readers are used fr registratin f Entry and Exit, the readers have t be checked fr Enter, and nne t be checked fr Exit. In this case every fllwing event will be treated as ppsite t the previus (if the user has entered, the next registratin n the reader will be treated as Exit). Click Save & Exit. Yu can edit the wrkgrup later by right-clicking n the created wrkgrup and then selecting Prperties. Shifts T create a shift fr a specific wrkgrup, right-click n it and select Add shift. 94
Set the parameters fr the shift. Name: Set the name (number) f the shift. Accept registratin after: after hw lng registratin f persnnel will be treated as the same shift. Shift start: time when the shift starts. Allw late until: permitted delay. A delay within that time limit will nt be shwn in the reprts and wrking time will be estimated as if the persn came n time. Slide shift if allwed late: if the persn is n later than the time defined in "Allw late until", the persn has t stay after the fficial end f the shift fr the same length f time by which he was late, therwise the missing perid will be treated in the reprts as if the persn was ut. Refuse registratin after: registratin fr the beginning f wrking hurs will nt be accepted in this shift. The sftware will search t see if this registratin matches ther shifts defined fr this wrkgrup. Break accepted frm: at which time the persn may take a break. Break refused after: until when the persn may reprt exiting fr a break. Break leave time: allwed break time. Early leave allwed frm: at which time the persn may reprt end f shift withut it being treated 95
as an early leave in the reprts. Shift end: end f the shift. Overtime if after: shws the time after which wrking hurs are cunted as vertime hurs. If the persn stays later then this time, the time frm the end f the shift t the mment he checks ut will be cunted as vertime wrk. If the persn leaves befre this time the reprt will shw the difference between the end f the shift and his exit as "staying late". Overtime limit time: the persn must nt stay vertime after this time. If they reprt the end f shift after this time, the vertime wrk will be calculated frm the end f the shift t the vertime limit time. Treat break time as wrk: if this ptin is checked the break time will be added t wrking hurs.. Treat unused break as vertime:when this ptin is checked if the persn dn't leave fr break then the break time will be cunted as vertime wrk. Treat "Missing In Event" perid as Missing: the sftware calculates perids between tw events - Entry and Exit. There are sme times when the persn may "jump" ne event, s there are cases when the persn has exited twice withut entering. The perid between thse tw events in the reprts can be shwn as a perid when the persn was nt at wrk (missing) r as a perid fr which registratin f entry is missing depending n the settings f this ptin. Treat "Missing Out Event" perid as Missing: the sftware calculates perids between tw events - Entry and Exit. There are sme times when the persn may "jump" ne event, s there are cases when the persn has entered twice withut exiting. The perid between thse tw events in the reprts can be shwn as a perid when the persn was nt at wrk (missing) r as a perid fr which registratin f entry is missing depending n the settings f this ptin.
