4 Abut this Manual Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse helps Banks and Financial services institutins manage and mnitr interest rate risk, liquidity risk, freign currency risk and earnings risk. The applicatin mdels every lan, depsit, investment prtfli individually t help institutins better understand the risks they have assumed and their sensitivity t ecnmic cnditins. Audience This Manual is meant fr use by the Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse System Administratr. It prvides step-by-step instructins necessary fr installing the Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse v7.3 Prduct. Scpe This manual prvides a step-wise instructin t install the Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse Prduct in an existing Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure. Organizatin f the Manual The Installatin Manual is rganized int the fllwing chapters. Pre Requisites sectin identifies the hardware and base sftware envirnment that is required fr a successful installatin & functining f the Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure Slutin. Ntes are displayed as fllws: NOTE It is imprtant that the passwrd shuld be 6 characters lng. If yu d nt adhere t this pre-requisite, yu will see a system message that reads Passwrd must be at least 6 characters lng. 1

5 Pre-Requisites The installatin prcess requires certain envirnmental variables t be set prir t starting the installatin. Yu must ensure that these requirements are met befre starting the installatin. Yu are requested t refer t the Release Ntes fr the latest updates n hardware r sftware requirements and the OFSAAI Installatin Manual fr the envirnment variables. Envirnment Installatin f Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse v7.3 Prduct requires Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure v7.3, t be installed in either a single-tier r multi-tier envirnment. It is implicit that all base sftware versins and patch levels required by the versin f Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure 7.3 is available and adhered t. NOTE If yu are ding an up-gradatin please make sure that OFSAAI has been upgraded frm v7.2 (Release n ) t v7.3. The Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse v7.3 installer dwnlad cntains nly the ERwin XML file that is required fr uplading the mdel. This file is sufficient t install the v7.3 prduct. Hwever, this XML file cannt be pened in the ERwin Data mdeler tl and hence cannt be used fr any data mdel custmizatin. ERwin file is delivered as a patch and need t be dwnladed separately. This ERwin file shuld be used fr any custmizatin f the data mdel. The released ERwin data mdel supprts ERwin 7.1 versin. Make sure the XSL versin is 7.1 in $FIC_APP_HOME/cmmn/FICServer/cnf. Reference bug / patch where ERwin file can be dwnladed is Bug FINANCIAL SERVICES DATAWAREHOUSE 7.3 DATA MODELS Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure v7.3, nce installed must be cnfigured. Frnt-End Access Internet Explrer 8.0/9.0 Java Plug-in 1.6.0_21 Acrbat Reader 8.0 The screen reslutins supprted are 1024*768 and 1280*1024 NOTE Ensure that Java Plug-in is enabled in the brwser settings. 2

6 Installing Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse v7.3 Prduct Pre-Installatin Activities The fllwing is the Pre Installatin checklist t ensure the readiness t start installing Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse Prduct: Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure v7.3 must be successfully installed. If Infrastructure installatin is n multitier envirnment, Execute the fllwing cmmands in the DB Layer terminal chmd -R 777 < ftpshare flder > Navigate t ftpshare flder and set the umask shwn as belw, this will make sure all the new files created will have 666 file permissin. cd < ftpshare flder > umask 0000 The Cnfig and atmic schema shuld be tw distinct racle database users. Oracle database User fr Atmic schema shuld have the belw grants grant create sessin t <ORACLE_USER>; grant create ANY INDEX t <ORACLE_USER>; grant create PROCEDURE t <ORACLE_USER>; grant create SEQUENCE t <ORACLE_USER>; grant DEBUG CONNECT SESSION t <ORACLE_USER>; grant create TABLE t <ORACLE_USER>; grant create VIEW t <ORACLE_USER>; grant create trigger t <ORACLE_USER>; grant create type t <racle_user>; grant select n sys.v_$parameter TO <racle_user>: Please cpy the entire FSDW v7.3 installer dwnlad directry t the server lcatin (Including the DataMdel directry). Please give read, write and execute permissin t all the files present in this directry. Please specify the lg file path and name in the lg4j.xml. Please update the value attribute marked in the fllwing picture Figure 1: Lg4j.xml file cnfiguratin Please make sure the path given in the lg4j.xml file has read/write/execute permissin. 3

7 Please execute the cnfig_table_privileges_fr_atmic_user.sql script in cnfiguratin schema. This file will be present inside $FIC_HOME directry. Please make sure FICServer is up and running befre prceeding fr installatin. Take a backup f the table rev_bject_register befre prceeding with installatin. 4

8 Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse v7.3 Prduct Installatin The Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse Prduct cmprises f cmpnents that are installed in Web, Applicatin & Database layer. Hence if yu have installed Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure 7.3 in a multi-tier architecture, the Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse Prduct installer must be invked n each f the machines that hst the Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure tier. Fr a Single-tier installatin, the installer is required t be invked nly nce n the machine that hsts all the Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure tiers. This sectin describes the installatin prcess where the Three Prduct setup cmpnents are installed n separate machines in with the Prduct installatin n separate machines. Machine A will be used t install Prduct Applicatin Layer cmpnents and Machine B will be used t install Prduct Database Layer cmpnents. NOTE This sectin hlds applicable if Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure v7.3 is installed n separate machines A and B respectively. Refer t sectin n Silent Installatin, if a silent installatin is required. 5

9 Machine A Prduct App Layer Step 1 T begin Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse prduct installatin, execute Setup.sh. Step 2 Figure 2: Installatin Splash Screen Figure 3: Intrductin Screen Upn invking the installer, the Intrductin screen will display the pre-requisites fr installatin. Ensure that the pre-requisites are satisfied befre yu prceed. Step 3 Please chse the lg mde fr this installer. In case, if Debug is selected, the Passwrds will be printed in the Lg File. 6

11 Step 5 The Pre Setup Infrmatin screen requests fr setup infrmatin. Select the apprpriate Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure layer that has been installed n the machine. Example AppLayer Step 6 Figure 6: Pre Setup Infrmatin Screen Chse Layer t Install This panel seeks infrmatin n whether a new infdm has t be created r the existing infdm t be used fr apps installtin. 12 Step 7-i If the ptin New Infdm was chsen in the previus panel then the fllwing panel will be next displayed which will seek infrmatin f the fllwing details t create infdm. Please specify a DB name fr the new infdm. Please make a TNS entry with the DB name specified in the tnsname.ra file in the racle server. Please enter the newly created atmic schema user name, passwrd, jdbc url in relevant fields. Click Next t cntinue Figure 8: Database details fr the new Infdm Step 7-ii If the ptin New Infdm was chsen in the previus panel then the fllwing panel will be displayed fllwing the panel 7-i which will seek further infrmatin f the fllwing details t create infdm. Please specify the name and descriptin fr the new infdm t be created. Please specify a segment name t be created. Nte : Segment name shuld nt exceed 10 Characters Als specify the Applicatin server and database server lg path fr infdm maintenance (t be created) 9

13 Figure 9: Infdm details fr creatin f new Infdm NOTE The Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure user must have a rle that is able t perfrm Add/Mdify functins fr FSDW metadata. Click Next t cntinue. Step 7-iii If the ptin New Infdm was chsen in the previus panel then the fllwing panel will be displayed fllwing the panel 7-ii which will display the pre-infdm creatin details. Please check and verify all the details befre prceeding t the next step. Figure 10: Pre Infdm Creatin Summary Click Next t cntinue creatin f infrmatin dmain. A new infrmatin dmain will be created n clicking Next. Step 7-iv 10

14 If the ptin Existing Infdm was chsen in the Step 6 then the fllwing panel will be displayed which will prmpt t select the infdm frm list f infdms present in the setup, enter segment cde and enter the applicatin schema s TNS name. Segment cde shuld nt exceed 10 characters Step 8 Figure 11: Installatin in Prgress FSDW v7.3 data mdel is packaged as part f FSDW v7.3 prduct installer and will be installed as part f the upcming steps, if required. The fllwing screen prmpts the user t pt fr mdel uplad prcess thrugh installer. Figure 12: Pre-Setup Infrmatin Clicking N implies that FSDW v7.3 mdel has been upladed int infrmatin dmain prir t this installatin. Clicking Yes will prceed with the FSDW v7.3 mdel uplad prcess as part f the installatin. 11

15 If the user selects Yes, Step 9 and 10 will be perfrmed. will appear. Upn selecting N.., Step 9 t 10 will be skipped. Click Next t prceed. Step 9 The fllwing panel prmpts the user t chse whether the released versin f Datamdel r the custmized datamdel t be upladed. On selecting Released Data Mdel ptin, installer uplads the FSDW v7.3 data mdel that is packaged as part f the FSDW v7.3 prduct. On selecting Custmized Data Mdel ptin, installer allws the user t select the data mdel. Please chse desired ptin. Click Next t prceed. Step 10 Figure 13: Pre Setup infrmatin If the ptin Custmized Data Mdel was chsen then the fllwing panel will be displayed prmpting user t select the custmized data mdel lcated in the machine. Please chse the custmised datamdel file frm the server. Nte: The data mdel xml file shuld be available in the server. In case the installatin is being perfrmed n an existing infrmatin dmain, the data mdel that is planned t be selected in this panel shuld be merged with the data mdel that was previusly upladed in the infrmatin dmain. In case the installatin is being perfrmed n a new infrmatin dmain, data mdel that is either custmized r merged with ther data mdels can be selected in this panel. 12

16 Figure 14: Pre Setup infrmatin Step 11 The fllwing panel displays pre-mdel uplad details. Please verify the details befre prceeding t the next step. Click Next t prceed fr mdel uplad. Figure 15: Pre Mdel Uplad Summary Clicking n Next will start the mdel uplad prcess. This prcess will take sme time depending n the size f the data mdel and available physical memry in the envirnment. User will nt be able t take any further actin n the screen, until the mdel uplad prcess is cmplete. Als, this step cannt be rlled back. If the mdel uplad fails, then a pp-up message with relevant errr and the lg file path will be displayed. Review errrs and take relevant actin. Cntinue with this step until the mdel uplad is successful and the installer takes the user t next step. Nte: 13

17 Sme f the cmmn errrs during mdel uplad are Insufficient heap memry n the client machine Pssible reasn/reslutin: The java memry settings in reveleusstartup.sh lcated in $FIC_APP_HOME/cmmn/FICServer/bin directry shuld be increased. Errr while getting the Erwin File path Pssible reasn/reslutin: Restart the FICServer. Errr in Uplad Operatin : FAILED WHILE SUPER CATEGORY - SUB CATEGORY RELATIONS HANDLINGDELETING Pssible reasn/reslutin: Incrrect Erwin.xsl file versin in $FIC_APP_HOME/cmmn/FICServer/cnf directry. Incremental/Sliced mdel uplad might give errrs in case there are NOT NULL clumns that are being added t a table that already has rws r if the clumns that are being drpped have values. Check the data mdel changes excel file fr any such cases. In such a case, take a backup f the table and truncate the table. Insert recrds back int the table with a default value fr the NOT NULL clumn. Navigate t the previus screen and prceed with the steps mentined abve. Step 12 The fllwing panel seeks input frm the user n whether t create new ETL applicatin/surce pair r use an existing ne. In case f upgrade, if custmer selects an existing applicatin/surce pair, then existing ETL definitins under the surce will be ver-written with the packaged definitins. Custmer can als chse t create a new applicatin / surce pair and then merge the changes between the packaged definitin and their existing definitins ffline. Please chse a desired ptin. Click Next t cntinue 14

Please specify all the details required fr applicatin and surce creatin. Click Next t prceed. Clicking Next will create applicatin and surce within OFSAAI. Surce mdel will als be generated. This prcess will take sme time depending n the number f entities / attributes in the atmic schema. This step cannt be rlled back. Please chse the desired ETL applicatin/surce pair int which ETL definitins will be deplyed. 31 Pst Installatin Activities Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure Server Memry Cnfiguratin The Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applicatins Infrastructure Applicatin Server is started using reveleusstartup.sh. This file can be edited fr setting custmized memry settings, garbage cllectr settings depending n the available hardware cnfiguratin. Please raise an SR in supprt.racle.cm if yu have any queries related t OFSAA applicatins. Once the installatin f Oracle Financial Services Data Warehuse Prduct is cmpleted, yu must perfrm the fllwing steps. Check the Lg file (The path and file name specified in the lg4j.xml). Ignre the fllwing errrs in the lg file: Errr: ORA-00001: unique cnstraint (<<UNIQUE KEY NAME>>) vilated. Restre the backup table f rev_bject_register. Fr upgrade frm 5.6 r belw, navigate t $FIC_APP_HOME/cmmn/FICServer/bin and Execute./UpgradeCnfig.sh. 28
