1 Intellitools Activity Exchange About the Activity Exchange The Activity Exchange is an online collection of materials for the Intellitools family of software. There are hundreds of activities available to download for FREE. The exchange allows you to post your own activities to share as well as use the materials made by other teachers,parents,therapists and others. 1. Go to the web site Click on the Activity Exchange located on the left hand side of the screen. 2. If you have registered enter your name and password and click on the Sign In Button. If you are a first time user you will need to register as a member. Click on the Join Now to sign up as a member. March 30, /8

2 3. You will need to agree to the Terms of Service to register. Click on I Agree To These Terms to continue. 4. Complete the online form and click on Submit. An activation will be sent to you shortly. The will contain instructions for activating your account. Your account must be activated within 5 days or you will need to resubmit your information. 3 5. Once you are signed in you may select an activity to download from the Top 5 of Today list, from the new Activities listing or by using Find Activity. Click on the name of the activity to download to preview it.. 6. Click on the Download button to start the process. 7. You will be prompted to Open/Save/Cancel the process. Click on Save. 4 8. Select a location to save your activity. Click on Save. 9. Once the download is completed Click on the Welcome button to return to the main Activity Exchange page. 10. To search for an activity Click on the Find Activity button. Enter the name of the Activity you want and click on Submit. March 30, /8

5 11. Advanced Search will give you more options to search from. Click on Advanced Search to get to this page. 12. You may search by Title, Creator, Description, Tools, Skill Level or Curriculum Materials. You may select one or multiple items to tailor your search. Click on Submit to bring up a list of activities you may choose from to download. 13. To use an activity that you have downloaded you may need to unzip or expand the activity. There are different ways to unzip/decompress files. This depends on how it was saved. You can try to double click on the icon for an automated process or right click on the icon to find a prompt to extract, expanding or unzip. You may require third party software (WinZip, Stuffit) to complete this process. 14. Classroom Suite can automatically import only one type of compressed file, The icon will look like a folder with a zipper on it. These files do not need to be decompressed first but can be directly imported to the program see step 17 to continue. March 30, /8

6 15. Please see the Intellitools FAQ for more information. 16. Remember where you have saved the extracted or decompressed the file to. Some ideas are to save to the Desktop or in you re my Documents folder in a folder called Downloaded Itools Activities. March 30, /8

7 17. To use the activity in Classroom Suite start the program Classroom Suite and log in as the teacher or administrator. Select the My Work folder and click on the Import button on the right hand side of your screen. You will then be able to edit the activity to meet your needs. 18. Locate the file to import from the Desktop or other location and click on it to select. Then click on Open to import the file. 19. The file will now be available in you re My Work Folder to use. 8 20. If you want to use the activity as is then select the Activities folder and click on the Import button. Locate the file to import from the Desktop and click on it to select. Then click on Open to import the file. You may then assign the activity to your student. March 30, /8
