3 Introduction The GPAA/Cisco Maintenance and Support contract for the Cisco Call Manager (CCM) and the Cisco IP Call Centre Express (IPCCX) reached end of life in The GPAA CCM and IPCCX is on version 6, which requires urgent upgrading to the latest version. The GPAA is inviting suitable qualified Cisco Gold (or higher) Certified partner to upgrade and integrate the existing CCM

4 Introduction Organizational level: Telecoms and IT have been converge into one environment, for telecoms to be supported by the ICT Staff Infrastructure Infrastructure refresh project is on going, to ensure an efficient UC deployment on the server environment

5 Scope of Works (High Level Overview) One month environmental analysis of current GPAA UCC landscape as per criteria defined in Pre-deployment Analysis Define and implement Quality of Service (QoS) parameters and setting UCC solution. Install, commission and integrate UCC for all GPAA users and systems at Head Office and at Regional and Satellite offices. Provide support and maintain the GPAA UCC solution for a period of 60 months. Document QoS features and hand over to the GPAA Network team for monitoring and support purposes. Propose a Decommissioning Strategy of all the existing UCC obsolete infrastructure.

6 Quality of Service (QoS) Latency, Jitter, reordering and dropped packets: Latency is a delay in packets getting from one endpoint to another. Most data applications are relatively tolerant of network characteristics such as latency. Jitter is the variability in how quickly packets get from one endpoint to another Reordering is packets arriving at an endpoint out of sequence. Dropped packets (self explanatory). Voice and video traffic, on the other hand, is rather intolerant of these characteristics. Because of this, the human eye and ear readily notice even slight distortions in images and sound respectively. Expectation: Measures have to be implemented that will minimize or eliminate these characteristics for real-time UC components 6
