1 Manual Installation of FAP-Navigator and first steps into A more detailed instruction of the installation and use of the Navigator can be found in the user s manual About FAP-Navigator The JUNG Facility-Pilot Navigator is an extension for the JUNG Facility-Pilot visualization. The visualization editor of the Facility Pilot can be used for designing a visualization according to the customer needs. This is one of the main strengths of the Facility-Pilot System. Quite often visualizations will have a similar pattern and will only differ in few details, e.g. for multi-apartment houses or compounds with similar floor plans. The JUNG GUI (Graphical User Interface) is also a pattern with its standardized control elements. If there is a similar pattern you can use, the projecting of the visualization will be much easier and the costs will be reduced also. Though some basic conditions and conventions have to be followed (e.g. exclusive use of JUNG GUI elements, use of existing design patterns). To use these work sheets in a visualization, a visualization project has to be prepared and configured knowledge of the Facility Pilot is a necessary precondition. A basic visualization project can be designed with the Navigator. The JUNG GUI control elements can be used for navigating room orientated through the functions lighting, blinds and heating. The function and favourites panel will not be filled automatically. These can be used for individual controls. Thus the Navigator designed basic visualization can be edited with the tools of the FAP (visualization editor, process model editor) according to customer needs. System requirements (projecting computer): Operating system Windows 7 Professional IIS 7 activated (IIS7 is a precondition for the navigator and the usage of HTML5 pages in the Facility-Pilot visualization server) NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 The setup routine of the Navigator and Vis-Server will check if IIS7 is activated on the machine. If it is not activated the setup will be cancelled automatically with a corresponding failure message. Normally the IIS7 is activated on a windows 7 computer, if not it can be activated following the procedure on page 2. Installation procedure: 1.) Install FAP Version 3.2x or update to this version (e.g. Planner version update can be found > Downloads > General Downloads > Software) 2.) Install FAP-Navigator (download from ) 3.) If required: install FAP- Visualization-Server 1.3 Required if HTML5 pages shall be tested on the system ( Downloads > General Downloads > Software) HTML5-Visu = Visualization for access through a browser, e.g. on mobile devices

3 Step 1) Installing FAP-Planner-Version: Install the FAP through the normal setup-routine. After the installation is finished the software has to be activated. Please follow the wizard for this. Without activation, the software will be time-limited to 20 days. Step 2) Installing FAP-Navigator: a) Install the FAP-Navigator through the setup. (if the failure notice IIS7 not found appears, please follow the steps on page 2) b) Restart the system to finish the installation. The Navigator is a server-client software. It is only possible to control it via the browser (e.g. Firefox, Safari), the standard port is c) Please enter this address into your browser if you are on the system where it is installed: Localhost:8081 Start screen of the Navigator Alternative: If the software is installed on a computer in the local network, the control can be operated also from a different device in the same network (e.g. PC, laptop, tablet). It has to secured that the computer with the Navigator is access able from the network (firewall, port forwarding). d) For accessing the Navigator from other devices in the local network please type into your browser: <IP-Address of Navigator-PC>:8081 e) After the installation the Navigator will run in demo-mode. It is not possible to extract project into the FAP. To use the full functionality please follow the wizard and use the serial number. Step 3) if required install the FAP-Visualization-Server: Please follow the setup. The setup of the visualization server is indicating the Port 8080, where the Vis-Server is normally provided by the IIS. Basic Knowledge for working with the Navigator: The Navigator automatically designs worksheets for the FAP. These worksheets will be installed into the FAP after finalizing the project ( generate worksheets ). Before the worksheets can be installed into the FAP-visualization project following projects has to be generated in the FAP: Logic project (generate in the process model editor) Visualization project (generate in the visualization editor) To get a working visualization at the KNX part you will need a KNX project in the KNX editor of the FAP. Please adjust the settings (e.g. bus access) and the connection to the process model. This can be also done after finalizing the project in the Navigator. Changes which have been done in the visualization will be overwritten if the worksheets are generated again in the Navigator. A Navigator project can be stored externally by making a backup the project folder. This folder can be found here: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\FapNavigator\App_Data\Projects\default\ For the processing of the ETS-group addresses two option are offered in the Navigator: 1.) Using the JUNG group address structure (adjusted to residential buildings). Advantage: automatic connection of the group addresses in the Navigator and less time for programming 2.) Using other group address structures. The connections have to be done then manually in the FAP.

4 Procedure using option 1: JUNG group address structure (GA structure) a.) Generate a KNX project in the FAP, a sample project with the JUNG GA structure can be imported via the project settings (FAPNAV_Vorlage_KNX.ZIP ) b.) Generate a logical project in the FAP (process model) c.) Generate a VIS-project (visualization editor) d.) Connect the different projects in the FAP Steps in the Navigator e.) Generate the project in the FAP Navigator f.) Setup the building structure and generate the functions and controls g.) Connect the controls with the existing JUNG GA structure h.) Generate the worksheets (options > generate worksheets into the FAP project). Choose the corresponding screen resolution. i.) Export the used group addresses (Options -> Address report) j.) Test the exported visualization in the visualization player. As an option the HTML5 visualization can be tested also if the visualization server is already installed. k.) Finishing and individualising the visualization (vis-editor and process model) l.) Export the customer project (KNX-, SDV-, VIS-project) and import it on the system at the customer s site. Steps in the ETS m.) The exported group addresses can be used for projecting and commissioning the ETS project Advantages of this way: 1.) Less time consuming, due to the automatic connection of the group addresses 2.) The Navigator is generating all necessary ETS group addresses incl. acknowledgements automatically, so that you already have a complete group address structure. Procedure using option 2: without using the JUNG GA structure Steps in the ETS a.) Generate an ETS project or use an already existing individual group address structure b.) Generate a KNX project (KNX editor) with the individual GA (Importing the esf- or knxprojfile). c.) Generate a logical project (process model) d.) Generate a visualization project (visualization editor) e.) Connect the project to each other. Steps in the Navigator f.) Generate a project in the Navigator g.) Setup the building structure and generate the functions and controls. h.) Export the worksheets to the visualization project in the FAP (options -> generate worksheets. Please choose the corresponding screen resolution. i.) Test the exported visualization in the visualization player. As an option the HTML5 visualization can be tested also if the visualization server is already installed. j.) Finishing and individualising the visualization (visualization editor and process model) k.) Export the customer project (KNX-, SDV-, VIS-project) and import it on the system at the customer s site. Important notice: It is also possible to generate a Navigator project before an ETS project and a group address structure has been done. The steps a and b will be then move down. The advantage will be that in an early stage the visualization can be discussed already.

5 Systems for using the Navigator visualization: JUNG FAPV-SERVER-REG / FAPVSERVERREGGB JUNG Smart Pilot with full version of FAP version 3.2 (update from 3.04 to 3.2 is possible) Notice: The visualization server is actually not installed on these devices and cannot be installed afterwards! I.e. no HTML5 functionality! Customer PCs fulfilling the system requirements Using the FAP visualization via HTML5 clients With FAP 3.2 it is possible to control the visualization also from other devices (clients) than the Smart Pilots. These devices could be mobile devices, like smartphones or tablets or other computers. The customer project of the visualization will be installed on a station where the visualization server software is running. It will run either in the background or also with a local control (screen + input devices). In addition the FAP 3.2 and the FAP visualization server 1.3 have to be installed on this system. The visualization server (HTML5) will provide the worksheets to the network. Visualization-Server-Station: Allowed systems at customer site: JUNG-FAPV-SERVER REG / FAPVSERVERREGGB (with FAP 3.2 and visualization server) Customer PCs fulfilling the system requirements Requirements and installation procedure can be found at the beginning of the document. Client- stations Clients have to have a HTML5-capable browser (e.g. Firefox, Safari For the time being NOT MS Internet Explorer!) Manual for the visualization server as a pdf: Manual for activating the visualization server The visualization server has to be accessible by the clients through the network (firewall settings, port forwarding); Standard-Port of the visualization server: Port 8080 A fixed IP-address should be used for the server. Accessing the Visualization server: On the local system: browser address: localhost:8080 Through a client: browser address: <IP-Address of Vis-Server-PC>:8080 Log-in screen Access as an admin Default settings: username: admin password: 0000 With this access level user accesses (max. 3) can be generated and the project and start page can be specified. Access as a user: Max. 3 users can access the visualization as a client at one time with their username and password given by the admin. Format of worksheets and applicable controls/ elements: Only worksheets with a prefix, specifying the resolution of the target system (e.g. 1024x768_worksheetname) will be transmitted via the visualization server (HTML5) from the

6 FAP 3.2. These worksheets can be generated either with the FAP (vis-editor) or with the Navigator. In a visualization project worksheets with and without this prefix can be used. Only controls of the JUNG GUI are allowed for HTML5-visualizations. Procedures for generating HTML5 compatible visualizations Procedure 1 with the FAP Navigator: Install the Planner-Version of FAP3.2, the FAP Navigator and the visualization server on the computer used for projecting. (system requirements and installation procedure can be found at the beginning of this document) a) Generate a complete visualization with FAP 3.2 and FAP-Navigator according to the manual of the Navigator. Both procedures are possible (with or without the JUNG group address structure) Please keep in mind: 1.) The FAP Navigator generates controls acc. to the JUNG GUI (HTML5 compatible) 2.) The worksheets will have automatically the prefix in front of the worksheet name and will be HTML5 compatible, e.g. 1024x768_worksheet. 3.) Depending on the desired controls and used clients the Navigator will export the worksheets in different resolutions and orientations. Please follow the instructions of the wizard. b) Testing the HTML5 visualization on the visualization server on the projecting PC. 1.) Starting the visualization server: Enter into the edit line of your browser: localhost:8080. Login as an administrator. 2.) Choose the corresponding project and define at least one user with username and password. Please also define the starting page of the project. 3.) Start the visualization server again and login as a user for testing the visualization. c) Export the customer project (KNX-, PRJ- and VIS-project) from the planner version and import it on the customer system. d) Test the visualization on the customer system with the clients of this system. 1.) The FAP 3.2 (Full version) and the visualization server have to be installed on the customer server pc. (see system requirements) 2.) To access the system through the clients following settings have to be done: a. Open port 8080 on the server station (firewall, port forwarding) b. Define a fixed IP-address for the server 3.) On the clients a HTNL5 capable browser has to be installed 4.) Generate users: a. Open the VIS-server through a client by entering <IP-Address Server- Station>:8080 into the browser and login as administrator. b. Choose the corresponding project and define at least one user (max. 3) with username and password. Please also define the starting page of the project 5.) Testing the client access: a. Enter into your browser <IP-Address Server-Station>:8080 and login as user 1 (2 or 3) b. Test the visualization

7 Procedure 2 with the FAP tools and without the Navigator Install the Planner-Version of FAP3.2 and the visualization server on the computer used for projecting. (system requirements and installation procedure can be found at the beginning of this document) a) Generating a complete visualization with the FAP 3.2 using the FAP tools (KNX-, Process model and visualization editor). In the visualization editor all worksheets will be generated. Please keep in mind: 1.) Worksheets for HTML5 clients have to use the prefix for the resolution, e.g. 1024x768. The resolution for each worksheet can be adjusted separately. 2.) These worksheets are allowed to use controls of the JUNG-GUI only! (visualization editor -> catalogue -> elements -> controls and panels) b) Testing the HTML5 visualization on the visualization server on the projecting PC. 1.) Starting the visualization server: Enter into the edit line of your browser: localhost:8080. Login as an administrator. 2.) Choose the corresponding project and define at least one user with username and password. Please also define the starting page of the project. 3.)
