5 Docman 7 Client Installation Introduction To ensure that Docman images are included in GP2GP transfers it is essential that Docman is installed on the practice ebxml machine and that the Practice s NACS code is setup in the application. This document enables you to check the setup of your ebxml machine and if necessary install the required software. To check if the Practice NACS code is setup and in use, see the Docman NACS Code Setup User Guide which can be found at My Vision Helpline Blog. Note - Before installing Docman 7, please check that it is not already installed. See Check If Installed on page 2 Overview 1 Check if Docman 7 is installed on the workstation. 2 To install Docman 7, log in to a workstation as an Administrator. 3 Start the Installation Process. 4 Follow the InstallShield Wizard Steps. 5 Follow the Client Setup procedure. 6 Install the MySQL ODBC Driver. 7 Check the Installation is complete. 6 Check If Installed There are two ways to check if Docman 7 is installed, they are: To check if Docman 7 is currently installed click on Start All Programs PCTI Solutions Docman 7. Start All Programs PCTI Solutions Look on the Desktop, if Docman 7 is installed you should see two icons on the workstation desktop: Desktop Icons If Docman 7 is not installed, please follow this guide to successfully install Docman 7 on the required workstation or GPC/Ebxml machine. 2 Vision 3 - Docman 7 Client Installation

7 Docman 7 Client Install Guide Note - Before installing the Docman Client, please ensure the account logged in has sufficient Windows rights to complete the installation, e.g. Domain administrator profile, Windows profile with administrator rights, or User Windows profile with full Local Administrator rights. 1. Navigate to My Computer and open the application drive. This is typically identified as the N:\ drive, but can be denoted as any other drive letter. Example of Application Drive N 2. Once the application drive (N:\) has been found browse to PCTI - DOCMAN7 Programs - Client Install. N:\PCTI\DOCMAN7\Programs\Client Install 3. Open the Client Install folder; this has the setup files necessary to install the Docman 7 client. Double click the SETUP_NEW_Client.exe application to start the installation of the Docman 7 Client. 4. The PCTI Document Management Client InstallShield Wizard will be displayed. 8 InstallShield Wizard 5. Click Next to continue. Do not click OK to the Client Setup message until the first PCTI Document Management steps have been completed. See PCTI Document Management - InstallShield Wizard Steps on page 5 4 Vision 3 - Docman 7 Client Installation

9 PCTI Document Management - InstallShield Wizard Steps 1. From the PCTI Document Management Client InstallShield Wizard, click Next to begin installation. InstallShield Wizard 2. You are presented with a customer information window which may already show details of your practice, if not, you do not need to fill them in. 3. Tick the Anyone who uses this computer (all users) field in the Install this application for: section, as shown below: InstallShield Wizard - Customer Information 4. Click Next and the Docman 7 Client Installation will continue to install. 5. You should now see a confirmation message that the DOCMAN 7 Client install was successfully installed on the machine. 10 6. If, however, you see the following error message: Error Could not write value to key\clsid\d27cdb70-ae6d-11cf-96b }\inprocserver32. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel. Abort, Retry, Ignore. Click Ignore, and hold down the I key on the keyboard, this will ignore the registry entries and complete the windows installation successfully. Error Message 7. 11 Client Setup Once the PCTI Document Management Client Installation is complete, the next step is to complete the Client Install. 1. The Client Setup message is displayed. Click OK to begin installation. Client Setup 2. The Docman 7 Setup & Configuration window will open. Click Begin to start automatically configuring the Docman 7 Client, this will set up the file locations and also connectivity to Vision. Setup & Configuration 3. When complete you need to install the MYSQL software which allows database communication between the Docman 7 Client on the workstation and the Docman Server. 12 MYSQL installation This installation will begin installing MYSQL ODBC driver which is a core component for the Docman 7 Client. 1. This window will open automatically following Setup & Configuration. Click Next to start the installation process. MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver Install Welcome Screen 2. The Read Me details will be displayed, when you have read the information, click Next to continue. Read Me Window 3. This will display the MYSQL installation window. 13 Start Installation 4. Click Finish to complete the installation. Finish Installation 5. Once the MySQL ODBC Driver is installed you will return to the Setup & Configuration window. A Checking ODBC Driver message will be displayed, prompting: Click OK when the ODBC Installation has completed BUT NOT BEFORE. Vision 3 - Docman 7 Client Installation 9

14 Setup & Configuration Confirm ODBC Driver installed 6. Click OK to confirm the MYSQL ODBC Driver is installed. 7. The installation will now continue automatically, it will create the Docman desktop icons and an entry in the Programs List. When complete click Close. 10 Vision 3 - Docman 7 Client Installation

15 Installation Complete Now that the DOCMAN 7 Client Installation is complete you need to log in to launch the workstation update. This updates the registry entries into the local machine from the server. You can do this the in two different ways: The Docman icons can be located on the desktop and there should be two. One called Docman 7 and the other Drop a document here. Docman Icons on the Desktop Alternatively you can open the client via Start - All programs PCTI Solutions Docman 7. Start Menu All Programs PCTI Solutions Docman 7 When you select one of the above options the Docman Client will initialise a workstation update, when complete you can log into Docman as normal. 16 Docman Login Screen Installation is now complete and you should be able to log into DOCMAN 7 with your allocated account.
