Read the instructions given carefully It is compulsory to complete all the instructions given under each task. Save your files according to the instructions. Marks for each section are shown below. 2 Task 1 To assess student s ICT performance at application level of Bloom s Taxonomy. Each instruction carries 1 mark. Topic: MS PowerPoint Time: 20 minutes Marks: 10 Learning Objectives To learn the advanced tools of MS PowerPoint for creating a dynamic presentation. Skills Creation of a presentation using the available templates. Creating a presentation using the available themes. Creation of a photo album in the presentation software. Applying animation effects using the custom animation tool. Inserting tables in a slide. Use of options available in design and layout tabs. Creating hyperlinks within a presentation. Reusing the previously created slides in a new presentation. 1. Open MS PowerPoint presentation 1 saved in the Task 1 Folder in D drive and Save As with your name in your Class/Section named folder in the Task 1 folder. OR Copy the presentation and paste in your Class/Section named folder in the Task 1 folder. Rename it with your name. 2. Insert a template of your own choice. 3. Open Presentation 2 and use Slide 2, 3 of Presentation 2 as Slide 3 and 4 in your presentation. Remember your presentation should have a similar template. 4. Select an appropriate lay out of slide and add a slide in the presentation, write your name, Class, Section, school name and add as first Slide. 2

3 5. Slide 2 will display the topic 7 Wonders of the World. Please note that the slide is already made, do not change it. 6. Insert a table in the last slide. Type names of seven wonders and their location in separate cells. 7. apply your desired style to the table 8. Create a Hyperlink within your presentation for the file saved in the Task 1 Folder named as More Information 9. Insert your custom animation on the text/slide of 1 st and 2 nd slides. 10. Apply your desired direction and speed on each animation. Remember: keep saving your work time to time. 3

4 Task 2 To assess student s ICT performance at creation level of Bloom s Taxonomy Topic: MS Word Using Mail Merge Features Time: 40 minutes Marks: 20 Learning Objectives To learn about various advanced features of MS Word. Skills Inserting header and footer in a document. 2 Inserting a footnote and endnote in a document. Use of drop cap in a word document. Inserting and deleting tab stops in a document. Use of format painter options. Inserting columns in a document. Increasing and decreasing indentation. Use of thesaurus. Applying shading on a document. Use of page setup and page margins. Applying different bullet styles in a document. Learning Objectives To enhance the knowledge of MS Word using mail merge feature Skills Function of mail merge feature. Creation of a data source file for mail merge process. Creating a merged document. Inserting merged fields in a document. Previewing the merged document. Printing the merged documents. 4

5 1. Open MS Word. Write an informal letter to your friend, telling him/her about the safety measures for Dengue Virus. There should be total 3 paragraphs. In 1 st paragraph, tell the situation of your city after Dengue, in few sentences. 2. Remember the 2 nd paragraph should be about the safety measures taken from the file Dengue Fever. Please note that the Dengue Fever Folder for 2 nd paragraph is saved in your class/section folder in the D Drive 3. In the 3 rd paragraph copy the following. I am sending you some safety measures for the Dengue. Kindly read it and share with your friends. Regards, Your name 4. Use a drop cap in the 2 nd paragraph 5. When the letter is completed add footer with your school and branch name 6. Write your class name and practical examination in the header 7. Insert a footnote for Dengue Fever 8. Apply your desired font size and use Calibri 9. Use the format painter tool to apply the first paragraph s formatting on all paragraphs of the document. 10. Apply your desired border style and color shading on the entire document. 11. The page setup of the document should be as follows: a. Top Margin 0.7 inches b. Bottom Margin 0.7 inches c. Right Margin 0.5 inches d. Left Margin 0.5 inches. 12. Click on Step by Step Mail Merge Wizard to create a data source file for the mail merge purpose. Only the following field names should be available in the customized address list: Name City Address 5

Now create a data source file of the following recipients for mail merge purpose and save it on your desktop as Source.mdb Name City Address Ali Lahore ali@gmail.com Omar Karachi Omar12@gmail.com Farhan Quetta farhan@gmail.com 14. Place your cursor to the first line of the document and insert the 3 fields from the source.mdb data source file. 15. Ensure that the document is appearing on a single page after inserting the mail merge fields. If it is going into 2 pages then make necessary adjustment to the font size of bulleted points and paragraph. 16. Now the follow the steps mentioned in the Step by Step Mail Merge Wizard to complete the merging process. 17. Save your work as Task2 Name.doc. 18. Preview the merged documents and take the printout of first 2 pages of the merged document from the printer. 6
