4 Versin Imprtant infrmatin It is imprtant t deactivate the trace settings manually at every phne again after dwnlading the trace. Otherwise the phne perfrmance will be heavy negative influenced. Refer t chapter 4.6 (WBM) r 6.6 (HiPath 4000 TSDM) r 10.4 (HiPath 3000 Manager E). At OpenStage TDM nly the trace functins are supprted in cnnectin with the Web Based Management. T save much time, I wuld use always the WBM, instead f the systems t make a phne trace. 2. Reasn fr this Hw-T The develpment needs nearly every time a phne trace t analyze a phne prblem. The OpenStage 60/80 TDM, in the fllwing called OS_Hi, are able t trace internal prcesses that shw the develpment what is ging wrng. OpenStage 15/20/30/40, in the fllwing called OS_L, nly write exeptin lgs, which shuld be dwnladed fr any phne prblems. This Hw-T describes the steps at OS_Hi fr activating / reading ut / deactivating thse traces with HiPath 4000, HiPath 3000 and Web Based Management. Fr OS_L and OS_Hi it describes hw t dwnlad the exceptin lg. With this Hw-T in hands the requester must nly define which traces he needs fr OS_Hi. Smetimes it culd be necessary that t make ther traces, by rder f the develpment. 3. Trace settings 3.1 Trace cmpnent descriptin The fllwing trace cmpnents/pints can be chsen fr a phne trace. Administratin This deals with the changing and setting f parameters within the phne database, frm bth the User and Admin menus Applicatin framewrk All applicatins within the phne e.g. Call view, Call lg r Phnebk are run within the applicatin framewrk. It is respnsible fr the switching: between different applicatins and bringing them int and ut f fcus as apprpriate. 5 Versin 2.0 Bluetth Service This handles the Bluetth interactins between external Bluetth devices and the phne. Call lg This deals with the Call lg applicatin which displays the call histry f the phne. Call view This handles the representatin f telephny calls n the phne screen. Certificate management Irrelevant fr OpenStage TDM. Cmmunicatins This is invlved in the passing f call related infrmatin and signaling t and frm the CSTA service. Cmpnent registrar Irrelevant fr OpenStage TDM. CSTA service Any CSTA messages, are handled by this service. CSTA messages are used within the phne by all services as a cmmn call prgressin and cntrl :prtcl. Data Access service This service allws ther services t access the data held within the phne database. Desktp The desktp service is respnsible fr the shared parts f the phne display. Primarily these are the status bar at the tp f the screen and the FPK :labels. Digit Analysis service This analyses and mdifies digit streams which are sent and received by the phne e.g. cannical cnversin. Directry service This perfrms a lk up service fr data in the phnebk, trying t match incming and utging numbers with entries in the phnebk. DLS Client management Irrelevant fr OpenStage TDM. Instrumentatin service This is used by the Husim phne tester t exchange data with the phne fr remte cntrl, testing and mnitring purpses. Java Irrelevant fr OpenStage TDM. Jurnal service The Jurnal service is respnsible fr saving and retrieving call histry infrmatin which is used by the Call lg applicatin. Media cntrl service This service prvides the cntrl f media streams (vice, tnes, ringing etc.) within the phne. Media Prcessing service. This is a layer f sftware between the media cntrl service and the tne generatin and vice engine services. It is als invlved in switching f :audi devices such as the handset and ludspeaker. Mbility service Irrelevant fr OpenStage TDM. OBEX service This is invlved with Bluetth accesses t the phne Openstage Client Management This prvides a means by which ther services within the phne can interact with the database. Phnebk This is respnsible fr the phnebk applicatin within the phne. Perfrmance Marks Irrelevant fr OpenStage TDM. Passwrd management service This is used t verify passwrds used in the phne. Service framewrk This is the envirnment within which ther phne services perate. It is invlved in the starting and stpping f services. Service registry This keeps a recrd f all services which are currently running inside the phne Sidecar service This handles interactins between the phne and any attached sidecars. Tne generatin This service handles the generatin f the tnes and ringers n the phne. Transprt service Irrelevant fr OpenStage TDM. vcard parser service This trace is fr sending/receiving vcards via the Bluetth interface. Vice engine This prvides a switching mechanism fr vice streams within the phne. It is als invlved in QDC, Music n Hld and vice instrumentatin. Vice mail Irrelevant fr OpenStage TDM. Web Server service This prvides the web access t the phne. USB Backup service This is fr the backup/restre feature via USB devices. 9 Versin Web Based Management (WBM) nly OS_Hi The phne trace and als the cre file can be cnfigured and dwnladed with the WBM. 4.1 Pre-cnditins A RNDIS driver, t be fund n SWS under OpenStage Manager, must be installed n the PC. Run RNDIS_V2_Rx.x.x_Setup.exe and fllw the installer s instructins. D nt plug in the USB cable befre the installer asks t d it. D nt change the USB prt after installatin, because the phne will nly wrk n the USB prt where the phne was plugged in during the RNDIS Driver installatin. When the trace file has reached its size limit, it will be saved as ld trace file, and the current exceptin file is emptied fr future messages. saved trace file Nrmally, the trace file is saved nly in the phne RAM. HiPath 4000: System Trace regarding phne issues This describes hw yu can make a system trace fr a phne issue. It is useful t make the system trace at the same time with the phne trace. The trace can be stpped at any phne f the system which has a prgrammed DDS key (in the fllwing example the number has t be stred n the DDS key). It is nt pssible t stp the trace while dialing manually. The number in this example must be free and nt reserved in the WABE. The trace will be stred n the system s hard drive under the filename yu enter dwn. The trace cnfiguratin can be entered and run always at a HiPath 4000 system, it is nt influencing the system perfrmance.
