1 GEOMATICA SERVER LICENSE MANAGER AND CLIENT INSTALLATION The purpose of this tutorial is to provide you with a friendly and easy to follow step-by-step guide for a license server installation and the corresponding clients of PCI Geomatica BEFORE YOU BEGIN: To complete the installation, you will first need to download the corresponding files from our website. A letter will be sent to all entitled customers containing links to the software download. **Please note that the demo data for Geomatica 2012 is a separate installation and is not included in either of the above ZIP files. STEP 1 Installing the License Server Launch the Sentinel RMS Server executable (LicenseServer.zip) that you previously downloaded. The following window appears: The Server RMS installation Wizard starts. Click Next to proceed. 1

2 The Safenet Sentinel RMS License Server installation wizard appears. Please select Install to proceed. The installation welcome screen appears. Please select Next to continue. The license agreement for the Sentinel RMS License Manager appears. Please read through the agreement and select I accept the terms in the license agreement and then click Next to proceed. By not agreeing to the terms and conditions the installation will immediately cancel. 2

3 The Customer Information window appears. Fill out the pertaining information and select Next to proceed. The Destination Folder panel appears. If you wish to accept the default path, please select Next to proceed. Otherwise make the appropriate changes, then select Next. The Setup Type screen now appears. Please toggle the Complete installation and select Next to proceed. 3

4 The Firewall Settings screen appears. In order for the license manager to communicate with the client, the Unblock the system firewall for the Sentinel RMS License Manager must be toggled on. Failure to do so will result in manual changes to the firewall after installation. Select Next to proceed. The Sentinel RMS License Manager is now ready to be installed. Select Install to proceed. The Sentinel RMS License Manager is now installed. Select Finish to proceed. 4

5 Step 2 Installing Drivers for Dongle (Hardlock) If you do not have the current drivers for the dongle (hardlock) you will be asked to do so now. Should you already have the proper drivers installed the Geomatica 2012 installation will continue. The Sentinel System Driver Installer now appears. Please select Upgrade to proceed. The Sentinel System Driver Installer welcome panel appears. Please select Next to proceed. 5

6 The license agreement for Sentinel System Driver appears. Please read through the agreement and select I accept the terms in the license agreement and then click Next to proceed. By not agreeing to the terms and conditions the installation will immediately cancel. The Setup Type screen now appears. Please toggle the Complete installation and select Next to proceed. Installation is ready to begin. Click Install. 6

7 The Sentinel System Driver Installer is now complete. Please select Finish to proceed. You will be prompted to restart your machine. For the time being please select No and restart after the installation is completed. The Server RMS Installation Wizard is complete. 7

8 Step 3 Gathering Fingerprint Information Now that the installation of the Sentinel RMS License Manager has been completed, you need gather the fingerprint (Locking Code) and send this information to PCI. Extract the Non-Programmable Echoid ZIP file onto your License Server machine. After this has been completed please ensure that the dongle (hardlock) is plugged into your machine. Open a DOS Command Prompt panel (Start All Programs Accessories Command Prompt). When running the DOS Command Prompt please be sure to Run as Administrator. To do so right click on the DOS Command Prompt program and select Run as Administrator. Now navigate to the location of the extracted ZIP files (Ex. C:\Echoid) and run echoid.exe. Capture a print screen (ALT + PrtScn) or copy down the locking code and send it to license@pcigeomatics.com. In addition be sure to send the following information with your . Customer Number Customer Name Company Name address at which you want to receive the license file Locking code Platform of the computer where the license server resides Geomatica version number 8

9 Step 4 Applying the License File After you have received a copy of the license file from PCI, please save a copy locally onto your desktop (Ex. C:\My Documents\PCI License). Now proceed to open the WlmAdmin panel (Start All Programs PCI Geomatics Server Administration Server Administrator). To apply the license file right-click on the computer name (where the license server resides) and select Add Feature From a File To a File and its Server). Browse for the location of the previously saved license file, select it and click Open to proceed. 9

10 The license file will be applied into the license server and you will receive a message similar to above. The number of licenses applied may vary, depending on the amount of modules purchased, or being evaluated. The Sentinel RMS License Manager is now installed, started and serving out licenses. **If a reboot of the license server is detected by the license manager itself, the service will automatically restart and apply the license file, as long as you select To a File and it s Server in the above step. Step 4 Setting up Client Installations With the Sentinel RMS License Manager installed, started and serving out licenses, you can now install full client installations. Using the Geomatica 2012 ZIP file you downloaded previously, please run the installation. The Geomatica 2012 installation Wizard starts. Click Next to proceed. 10

11 The license agreement for Geomatica 2012 appears. Please read through the agreement and select I accept the terms in the license agreement and then click Next to proceed. By not agreeing to the terms and conditions the installation will immediately cancel. The Installation Location screen appears. Choose a destination folder to install the software, and then click Next. **Due to certain read/write permission issues under the Program Files on new Windows machines, the default install is now the C: drive. We suggest keeping this default installation path in order to run Geomatica. For Client Installation, choose Client (server license) as the Installation Type, and click Next. 11

12 The License Server Host panel appears. Please type either the computer name (with domain), or the IP address of the machine where the license server resides. After doing so please select Next to proceed. **If you have entered the computer name (or IP address) properly and an error occurs, it means that the license server might not be configured properly, or started. You can set the licensing later so carry on with the installation and contact PCI support to troubleshoot. Installation is ready to begin. Click Install. 12

13 The Geomatica Installation Wizard is complete. Check Yes I would like to launch the Geomatica 2012 to start the software. The installation of the Sentinel RMS License Manager and the corresponding clients of Geomatica 2012 are now completed.
