4 ADJUSTABLE TRANSFRMERS GENERAL DESCRIPTIN The adjustable transfrmers are used fr the cntinuus adjustment f single-phase and three-phase vltages. They are used in electrmechanical and electrnic industries, in labratries and schls. Principally are used fr: - manual and autmatic cntrl f supplies in measurement sitchbard - speed cntrl in rtating machines - cntrl f heating machines - educatinal demnstratins in schls and clleges - crrectly regulate single-phase and three-phase vltages In respect f thyristr regulatrs, the AC vltages cntrl by using these adjustable transfrmers has the flling advantages: - dn t cause frequence interferences - the utput vltage ave is perfectly sinusidal - high efficience, l cnsumptin The adjustable transfrmers are available in t versins: - prtected by metallic case, usefull fr the schls, labratries, measurement tests - pen executin nt prtected t be munted int electrical panels, cntrl sitchbards Excluding the mdel HST hich has the primary separate frm the secndary inding, all the mdels are self-cntained transfrmers. The adjustable transfrmers are made f high quality materials and manufactured using mdern technlgy,s hen the permissible lad capacities are bserved, n particular maintenance is required. ith the standard versin the cleaning f the slide surface nly is required after lng perids f use. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS The standard versins are supplied by 230V +10% input vltages. This vltage must never be higher than 6% f the nminal value t avid pssible increases f the temperature in the inding ver the admitted limit. The secndary circuit cnfrms t standards VDE 0552/5.69, must be prtected against the shrt circuits by a fuse r thermic prtectin. The primary circuit must be prtected by a time delayed fuse ith prper range. The standard rking frequence is 50Hz. Mdels ith frequence at 400Hz can be available n request; it shuld be understd hever that the lsses f the cre caused by the magnetic hysteresys increases ith the increase f the frequence. The nminal current lad is permitted ithin the rking temperatures frm 15 C t +40 C; in case f these limits are exceeded it is necessary t cl the transfrmer Test vltage is 2,5kV at 50Hz frm the metallic parts and the pints under vlatge Prtectin degree: class I The prtected mdels in metallic case (HSN and HTN) have the same technical characteristics f the pen mdels; the nly difference is in the rking temperature that in this case is 30 C. In case f prlnged use (mre than 4h cntinuus use) it is better t reduce the lad f abut 20% t avid the verheating f the metallic case.
