3 1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION Ek-Aims ptical sprt shting equipment is suitable bth fr practising and cmpetitins. The cre f the prduct is its sftware in the circuit bard with an integrated laser mdule. This equipment is cmpatible with the electrnic targets apprved by the Internatinal Mdern Pentathln Unin UIPM. The laser beam can be used with either nn-cded beam, r with a cde defined by UIPM. T emulate traditinal shting, the gun has a s-called barrel time; a time a bullet wuld nrmally take t g thrugh the barrel. This sht delay is 8ms. The shter shuld thus take int cnsideratin the same aspects as with a nrmal gun when pulling the trigger. These laser prducts belng t Laser Class 2. Prducts have been tested by Finnish Institute f Occupatinal Health amng classificatin methd EN :2007 (IEC :2007). Please read the safety instructins carefully. Buttns, cnnectrs and indicatr lights. The shting mde is fr shting and menu fr changing the settings. The gun is autmatically in the shting mde when turned n. The gun is turned n by using the pwer buttn n its left side. 4 In the menu mde, the user can adjust the settings and ptins related t sund signal, UIPM cde and targeting mde (cntinuus beam). All adjustments are made by pressing the pwer buttn as fllws: start-up (length nt defined) quick press (less than 0.3 sec) lng press ( sec) stp (ver 2 sec) There are three indicatr lights n the side f the weapn. They indicate the activity status f the ptins, excluding the charging status f the battery. The infrmatin varies between the shting and menu mdes. 2.2 Menu T g t the menu, press the pwer buttn shrtly while in the shting mde. The first f the led lights starts flashing. This indicates which f the available ptins is active (sund signal). T change the setting, press the pwer buttn fr secnds (high-pitch sund signal). The next ptin is chsen by shrtly pressing the buttn (lw-pitch sund signal). The mst recent setting is saved, excluding targeting mde, which can be n nly in the menu mde. When the gun is switched back t shting mde r is shut dwn, targeting mde becmes inactive. Page 4/9 Manual Laser-prducts _EN_

The initial zering has been dne at the factry. Adjusting the rear sight: Turning the screw n the right side clckwise will mve the sight t the left. 6 3.2 Trigger unit A micr-switch and a magnet frm the basis fr the trigger mechanism. The functins f the micr switch are adjusted at the factry and shuld nt be manipulated. Any unauthrised pening f the trigger mechanism will remve any guarantee frm the manufacturer s side. Adjusting the trigger The trigger adjustments are set at the factry, t ensure that the trigger pulling frce meets the ISSFshting rules and that everything wrks smthly. The user may want t adjust the trigger t fit their persnal needs. Adjustments are recmmended t be carried ut in the fllwing rder: 1. Adjust the blade angle. Turning the screw clckwise will turn the blade backwards. 2. Length f duble-pull. Turning the screw clckwise will shrten the duble-pull (1.5mm Allen screw). 3. Trigger stp. Turning the screw clckwise will shrten the after-travel f trigger after triggering. Cautin! T clse adjustment will increase the trigger frce and finally prevent the trigger mechanism frm travelling ver the threshld. 4. Duble-pull pressure, g. Turning the screw clckwise will increase the pressure. 5. Pull pressure, ~500g. Turning the screw clckwise will decrease the pressure. Page 6/9 Manual Laser-prducts _EN_

7 4 BRU-2011 L The air weapn s barrel is detached fllwing the manufacturer s instructins, nrmally by lsening tw small screws n tp f the barrel, and carefully pulling the barrel ff. It is replaced with an BRU. The screws are tightened again. BR units are mdel-specific. The mdel can be fund n the side f the unit. Fr the initial zering there are tw 1,5 mm screws n right side and under the barrel like ELP-10. When turning the screw n right clckwise, the beam mves t the right and when turning the screw under the cntainer clckwise, the beam mves dwn. Dn t ver tight the screws. The final zering shuld be dne by adjusting the sights. When using the BR unit, the prgram is autmatically set fr the next sht. The ccking delay is 0.5 secnds. The trigger unit is ccked manually by using a ccking lever. Vibratin censr In a BR-unit the sht is recgnized by a vibratin sensr (G-sensr). The pwer f impact, caused by trigger mechanism, differs between pistl types and even between cpies f the same pistl type. The sensitivity f G-sensr has been adjusted by the factry n an average value f yur pistl type. If the sensitivity value is t high, it might cause unintended shts. On the ther hand t lw value might leave shts unrecgnized. The sensitivity can be adjusted by using Ek-Aims Lasergun Setup v1.1 prgram. Installatin steps: 1. Cpy the file Ek-Aims Lasergun Setup v1.1_release.zip n yur cmputer and unzip it. This zipfile includes a. instructins b. the driver and c. the prgram 2. Run "CDM20814_Setup.exe". This installs USB driver fr laser gun. 3. Wait until the driver is installed. 4. Cnnect the laser gun t the USB prt f the PC with USB cable and wait the PC infrmatin a. A new device has been fund b. Adjusting the sftware c. A new device is ready t be used. 5. Switch n pwer t the laser gun. 6. Run "Ek-Aims Lasergun Setup v1.1.exe". Prgram scans the laser gun autmatically. 7. If laser gun is fund, prgram shws status 'Cnnected', therwise errr nte will be shwn and prgram will terminate. 8. Nw it is pssible t adjust the G sensr sensitivity by using Read and Set sensitivity- buttns. 9. After adjustment is dne, clse the prgram befre discnnecting laser gun. 8 5 P3-E L Fr the initial zering there is 1,5 mm screw under the barrel. When turning the screw clckwise, the beam mves dwn. D nt ver tight the screw. The final zering shuld be dne by adjusting sights. Vertical adjusting Hrizntal adjusting The rear sight is used fr adjustments. The adjustment screws are n the right side. The upper screw is used fr steplessly adjusting height. By turning the screw, the height mves upward and dwnward. It des nt matter which way the screw is turned, the sight changes directin after full rund. The lwer screw is fr adjusting the sight hrizntally. By turning the screw clckwise, the sight mves t the right, anti-clckwise mves it t the left. 6 CHARGING THE BATTERY A gun is charged via a USB-cable. It can be cnnected t a USB-prt f a cmputer, r t mains current with USB-charging device. A green led indicates that the battery is being charged, it turns ff when the battery is full. Re-charging an empty battery takes abut three hurs. When the battery runs lw, the system gives a warning signal. Page 8/9 Manual Laser-prducts _EN_

Always fllw firearm regulatins when handling an ptical gun. Carry it in a prper case r bag. A persn nt familiar with this kind f equipment may mistake it fr a regular weapn, nt an ptical, and safe, ne. The system is meant fr utdr use as well, and is prtected against nrmal humidity and rain. Nevertheless, heavy rain may damage the electrnic parts. Always cver the gun frm rain. Keep it in a carrying case when nt in use. 8 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE In rdinary use and nrmal cnditins the gun is maintenance-free and thus des nt require any daily maintenance, except a quick check.
