5 Section 1 New Installations of Delphi Diagrams Non-Integrated Delphi Diagrams Installation Instructions Section 1 New Installations of Delphi Diagrams Delphi Diagrams is a graphical design tool that helps manage space by creating dimensionally accurate detailed setups for selling and planning interior and exterior meetings and events.. Procedure 1.1 Installing Delphi Diagrams The installation instructions guide you through the process of installing and registering Delphi Diagrams. 1. Do the following: If Delphi is installed: Create a folder in the NGS\Diagrams folder named Install, and then copy the contents of the Delphi Diagrams CD to the Install folder. In the \Diagrams\Install folder run Setup.exe. If Delphi is not installed: Create a network share named Diagrams, accessible to all Delphi Diagrams users. Create a folder in the Diagrams folder named Install, and then copy the contents of the Delphi Diagrams CD to the Install folder. Browse to the Diagrams\Install folder, and run Setup.exe. Note: If you are upgrading Delphi Diagrams from a previous version, skip to Section 2 Upgrading Delphi Diagrams, page 7. The Welcome Window appears. 6 Section 1 New Installations of Delphi Diagrams 2. Click Next. The Delphi Diagrams Installation Information window appears. 3. Click Next. The Customer Information window appears. 4. Enter your user name and click Next. The Choose Destination for Setup window appears where you select where Setup will install the files. 7 Section 1 New Installations of Delphi Diagrams 5. Do one of the following: Click Browse to find the location where you want Setup to install the files, and then click Next. Click Next to accept the default. The Choose Destination for Shared files window appears. Note: If Delphi is not installed, the shared files location defaults to your local machine. 6. Do one of the following: Browse to the Delphi Diagrams shared folder created in Step 1, and then click Next. Click Next to accept the default if a standalone installation is desired. 8 Section 1 New Installations of Delphi Diagrams 7. Choose your setup type, and then click Next. This opens the Select Program Folders window. 8. Type or select a program folder where you want to install the program icons, and then click Next. The Setup Status window appears. 9 Section 1 New Installations of Delphi Diagrams When the program files installation is complete, a prompt appears asking if you want to view the Guest Event Management (G.E.M) module setup instructions. 9. (Optional) Click Yes to view the instructions. The Data Link window appears where you connect to the G.E.M. database, as well as instructions to guide you through connecting to the G.E.M. database. 10. 10 Section 1 New Installations of Delphi Diagrams 11. Double-click OS32Data.mdb. 12. Click Test Connection. When you successfully connect to the G.E.M. database, a prompt appears. 13. Click OK. Note: If the connection does not succeed, click the ellipses again to browse to the correct location. 14. In the Data Link window, click OK. The InstallShield Wizard Complete window appears. 11 Section 2 Upgrading Delphi Diagrams 15. Click Finish. Note: After Delphi Diagrams is initially installed, it is recommended that you set the administrator and system administrator passwords. Procedure 1.2 Setting Administrator and System Administrator Passwords 1. Upon initial installation of Delphi Diagrams, launch Delphi Diagrams. 2. On the File menu, click Login. 3. Select System Administrator, and then click OK. You do not need to enter a password at this time. 4. On the Administration menu, select Set Password to set the passwords. Section 2 Upgrading Delphi Diagrams If upgrading Delphi Diagrams from a previous version, perform one of the following: If you are upgrading Delphi Diagrams from 5.1 or to 5.2.1, see Procedure 2.1 Upgrading from 5.1 or to 5.2.1, page 7. If upgrading from OSii 4.0 or 5.0, see Procedure 2.2 Upgrading from OSii 4.0 or 5.0, page 9. 12 Section 2 Upgrading Delphi Diagrams 2. Click the Registration Status tab. 3. If the Evaluation entry has an Expiration Date (i.e. Expires 06/07/08), you must remove the olsi.if file from the Delphi Diagrams shared folder. Procedure Run Setup.exe and Select Upgrade 4. In the Setup Type window, select Upgrade, and click Next. 5. If the warning, Upgrading...not fully implemented appears, click OK. This warning will be removed in next version. 6. In the Completed window, click Finish. Procedure Backing Up Customized Delphi Diagrams Data You must now create a backup copy of the following.ini files with the extention.sav: OS_Sizes and Standard_Tools. Note: Do not rename the.ini files without creating a backup copy first. 1. Browse to the Delphi Diagrams shared folder (N:\Diagrams). 2. Make a copy of the OS_Sizes.ini and name the copy: OS_Sizes.sav. 3. Make a copy of the Standard_Tools.ini file and name the copy Standard_Tools.sav. The customer may copy the customized data to the new.ini files after the installation is complete. Procedure Upgrade the Database with DBUpdate.exe If you upgrade from Delphi Diagrams to 5.2.1, you must upgrade the Microsoft Access database. 1. Browse to NGS/Diagrams/Install on the Delphi database server or CD. Double-click DBUpdate.exe to upgrade the database. Procedure Upgrade Previous Delphi Diagrams Setup and Floorplan Files If your setup and floorplan files are not in the default location, copy the files to the default location. If you are unsure where the default location is, check the following registry entries in Step Close Delphi Diagrams if it is already running on the system. 2. Note the SSP and FLP files location in registry at the following path: For setup files: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Newmarket International\Delphi Diagrams\standard\Paths\SETUPS For floorplan files: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Newmarket International\Delphi Diagrams\standard\Paths\ FLOORPLANS 3. Copy all SSP and FLP files which require update in paths (SSP files in Setups folder and FLP files in Floorplans folder) noted in above step. 4. Go to Start and click Run. The Run window opens. Write cmd and click OK. 5. Enter the path of the Diagrams exe with command line parameter -U. For example: Procedure 2.1 Upgrading from 5.1 or to Copyright 2007 Newmarket International Inc. Delphi Diagrams opens in minimized window mode, and will open each SSP and FLP file one by one. 7. Check to see f the <Drawing> root tag is already there. If the tag is not there, the file will be saved in a new format; otherwise, Delphi Diagrams will pick the next file from the folder. Once you are finished with all SSP and FLP files, Delphi Diagrams will close.
