New installatins can be perfrmed via the NCU service system and TCU r with WinSCP / RCS-Cmmander. Installatin f the NCU service system n USB stick: The NCU service system is stred as USB stick image in the directry emergency_btsys_ncu f the DVD delivered. The cpy prgram installdisk.exe is als included. Cnnect a USB stick >= 2 GB t yur PG resp. PC (with Windws XP) and determine the relevant drive letter. Call up installdisk t cpy the NCU service system nt the USB stick: installdisk --verbse --blcksize 1m <image file> <drive letter:> We recmmend that yu execute this cmmand in a DOS shell. Fr this, yu require administratr rights n yur PG/PC. Upn cmpletin f installdisk, remve the USB stick frm the PG / PC, bt nce an NCU 7x0 frm this stick (this bt prcess takes a little bit lnger; a "P" in the 7-segment display f the NCU indicates that the FAT partitin f the USB stick is partitined) and reinsert the stick in the PG / PC. Windws nw displays an empty USB stick. Cpy the requested CNC sftware (file with the extensin.tgz) frm the DVD delivered, the directry ncu_sw. The USB stick can be inserted in ne f the tw USB plugs f the NCU 7x0.2. After being switched n, the NCU is bted frm this USB stick. The system is perated either via a TCU which is cnnected t the NCU r via PG / PC using WinSCP under "Open Terminal". The use f the NCU service system is described in the dcumentatin /IM7/ n the DVD delivered. We recmmend that yu use the USB stick "SIMATIC IPC USB Flashdrive, 6ES7648-0DC50-0AA0". Alternatively, the image can be installed with the RCS Cmmander (6FC5860-7YC10-1YA0) via the menu item "Write file system image". 1. Installing the CNC sftware: The NCU service system >= V n a USB stick is required t install the CNC sftware. The sftware can be installed fr the first time using the NCU service system and TCU with full keybard r using WinSCP. Installatin withut keybard r WinSCP is nly pssible using a USB stick that has been prepared fr autmatic upgrade (refer t 1.5). The sftware may nly be installed n a SanDisk CmpactFlash GB. The Order N. [MLFB] f the empty card is 6FC5313-5AG00-0AA0. Optinally, yu can use a CF Card 8GB 6FC5313-6AG00-0AA Installing the NCU service system n a USB stick: The NCU service system is available as USB stick image in the directry emergency_btsys_ncu f the DVD supplied. The installdisk.exe prgram fr cpying is lcated next t it. Cnnect a USB stick >= 512MB, preferably Siemens 6ES7648-0DCx0-0AA0, t yur PG r PC (with Windws XP) and determine the assciated driver letters. Alternatively: installdisk --verbse --blcksize 1m D:\ emergency_btsys_ncu\linuxbase-512m.img X: If the resize.img is used, then after it has been dwnladed, an NCU must be bted frm this USB stick s that the image n the stick is unzipped and the FAT partitin is generated. This means that the full capacity f the USB stick is therefre available. The cmmand specified abve is preferably executed in a DOS shell. T d this, yu require administratr rights n yur PG/PC After cmpleting installdisk, remve the USB stick frm the PG / PC and re-insert it int the PG / PC. Under Windws, yu will nw see an empty USB stick. Nw, cpy the required CNC sftware (file with the.tgz extensin) t this USB stick frm the DVD supplied, directry ncu_sw. The USB stick can nw be inserted in ne f the tw USB cnnectrs f the NCU 7x0. When it is pwered-up, the NCU bts frm this USB stick. Operatr cntrl is either frm a TCU that is cnnected t the NCU r via PG / PC using WinSCP under "Open Terminal". The use f the NCU service system is described in the dcumentatin /IM7/ n the DVD supplied. 1.2 Upgrading an NCU 7x0.2 with CNC-SW 2.6 SP1 r 2.7 HF1 A SanDisk 1GB CF card is required! It is nt permissible t upgrade frm ther sftware releases. A new installatin is then required! It may then be necessary t bserve Sectin 9.5 upgrading cycles. Fr an upgrade, all user data n the CF card in the directries /user, /addn, /em and the license key is kept. When upgrading systems with several NCUs / PCU50, please carefully nte Sectin 7 regarding netwrking! Bt the NCU frm the USB stick (refer t 1.1). Using F3, select the service shell. Lg-n as user "manufact". In this case, it may be necessary t use an external keybard as the user name must be written using lwer-case letters. After the $ peratr prmpt f the service shell, enter the fllwing cmmand: sc restre -update /data/<cnc-sw>.tgz The sftware update has been cmpleted when the $ prmpt reappears. Remve the USB stick. Bt the NCU by pwering it dwn/up again. The PLC, drives and NC can then be cmmissined. 1.3 New installatin IMPORTANT: With this prcedure, the cntents f the CF card are cmpletely deleted, this als applies fr an empty CF card. Bt the NCU frm the USB stick (refer t 1.1). Using F3, select the service shell. Lg n as user "manufact" - fr an empty CF card with "admin", passwrd "SUNRISE". In this case, it may be necessary t use an external keybard as the user name must be written in lwer-case letters. After the $ peratr prmpt f the service shell, enter the fllwing cmmand: sc restre -full /data/<cnc-sw>.tgz The sftware installatin has been cmpleted if the $ prmpt reappears. Remve the USB stick. Bt the NCU by pwering it dwn/up again When bting fr the first time with TCU(s), the TCU(s) must be lg nt the system. The TCU name (default TCUx) and the address f an assigned MCP must be specified. The PLC, drives and NC can then be cmmissined. 1.4 Systems withut TCU If there is n OP with TCU t perate the NCU service system when installing the sftware crrespnding t 1.2 r 1.3, then peratin is als pssible frm PCU50 r PC/PG using WinSCP (Cmmands / Open Terminal) r VNC viewer. 4 CNC Sftware 2.7 SP1 HF6 stick because there is nt enugh free memry space n the CF card. 1.5 Autmatic upgrade using a bt-capable USB stick: Using an apprpriately prepared USB stick >= 1GB, it is pssible t execute an autmatic "restre -updated" r "restre -full". In this case, a script (autexec.sh) and the CNC sftware must be cpied t the stick. It is nt permissible t change the name f the script. The CNC sftware cpied t the stick must be renamed update.tgz r full.tgz. The SIM/NCK rtary switch n the NCU must then be set t psitin 7 and the NCU bted frm the stick. The script nly runs when the switch is in the 7 psitin. Otherwise, the NCU bts frm the stick and a branch is then made int the service menu. Depending n the designatin f the CNC sftware, the script decides whether a "restart -update" r a "restre -full" is t be carried ut. In additin, befre the restre, the script runs a data backup f the CF card. The prgress made in the individual script steps can be tracked n the 7-segment display r als at the internal SINUMERIK Operate. The precise significance f the displays and the individual steps are described in a separate dcument. The script is available n the DVD supplied. 2. Ntes: After installing the CNC Sftware Versin SW 2.7 SP1 n the CF card, a general reset must be made fr the NCU and PLC: SIM/NCK switch in psitin 1, PLC switch in psitin 3 and then pwer-dwn/pwerup. The NCU des nt bt if either the fan mdule is nt available r if it is defective (bth fans fail). The 7-segment display shws "8", all LEDs are n. Alarm Pwer ON after pwer failure "%1 data was restred, f which %2 machine data, %3 errrs" If %3 - the number f errrs ccurred - is greater than zer, then it is nt recmmended t cntinue prcessing with the data. In rder t avid subsequent prblems, an actual data back-up shuld be read-in (dwnladed). It is nt always pssible t prt an NCK series cmmissining archive frm 840D pwer line t 840D sl withut prcessing. Befre verwriting a licensed CF card, it is abslutely necessary t back up the license key. The key is included in the 'keys.txt' file and is lcated in the /card/keys/sinumerik path. The key can be backed-up e.g. using WinSCP frm the PG/PC. The licenses are permanently linked t the particular CF card (card ID) and can nly be used n this card. Data backups shuld be read-in (dwnladed) in the fllwing sequence - NC, PLC, drive. It makes sense t separately generate the NC, PLC and drive archives. Cntur handwheel and velcity verride using the handwheel are nly released with Prfibus MCP. The reset knb at the NCU allws the NCU mdule t restart. It cannt be guaranteed that the cmplete system can be restarted fr all cnfiguratins. This als applies t the PI service frm the PLC with FB4. A template f the actual standard basesys.ini is available in the catalg /card/siemens/system/etc. Prt 102 n X130 is interlcked as standard. If the cntrl is t be accessed via X130 using Step 7 r a SINUMERIK Operate, then prt 102 must be enabled. This can be dne by making the fllwing entry in the file /user/system/etc/basesys.ini: [LinuxBase] FirewallOpenPrts=TCP/102 If required, prt 5900 can als be enabled fr an external VNC viewer. The Ethernet handwheel f the HT2 is cnnected (marshalled) t the fifth handwheel interface. Example fr three Ethernet handwheels. The third handwheel is lcated in HT2: MD11350[0]= [0]= [0]=1 MD11350[1]= [1]= [1]=2 MD11350[2]= [2]= [2]=5 HT2: The PLC applicatin example fr the HHU (handheld unit), included in the tlbx fr Pwerline, cannt be transferred t the HT2 withut first making sme changes. The variable descriptins f the NCVAR must be adapted. FC13 nw supprts the visualizatin f fur lines. In rder t be able t use the extended display at the HT2, the values (these are generally the psitin values) must be transferred t the FC13 in the real 2 frmat. In rder that FC13 can apprpriately prcess the values, the Parameter DataType must be set t B#16#30. The values must be transferred in exactly the same way as they are read frm FB2 / FB5 in the real 2 frmat. It is nt pssible t interpret the values between utput FB2 / FB5 and input in FC13. The values read-in frm FB2 / FB5 in the real 2 frmat must be apprpriately cnverted in FC13. The Digits parameter specifies the number f decimal places (value range 1..9). The display update is managed in FC13. The signals "Acknwledge numerical display" in the EBm+5 and "New data fr selected line" in ABm+1 n lnger have t be intercnnected in the PLC. Example fr the first handwheel: MD11350[0]=7, 11351[0]=1, 11352[0]=1 Traversing the spindle with limited trque (Fcn) r traversing the spindle t a fixed stp: The pwer displayed at the SINUMERIK Operate is calculated frm the limited trque as 100% and displayed. Frm NCK >= V nwards and ADI4 bard V , the ADI4 bard can be perated at the 840D sl with internal PLC 317. Dbsi 1, just like befre, has nt been released in cnjunctin with SINUMERIK and integrated drive cntrl. Starter, in cnjunctin with 840 D sl, has, as befre, nly been released fr diagnstics. If the number f part prgrams set by the machine data apprximately crrespnd t the number f actually used part prgrams, the value in the machine data must be increased (as a result f the additinal cycles). Interplatry traversing f psitining axes is prevented with Alarm 8031 "...axis has n IPO functinality." SPI and PW are keywrds (they have always been keywrds) and cannt be used as axis identifiers. The functin G643 (internal blck blending) has been released fr applicatins in the tl change area (e.g. ptimizing the apprach t the tl change psitin). It has nt been released fr applicatins in the machining prcess itself. The functin G644 (blending with pssible dynamic perfrmance) has been released fr applicatins in the tl change area (e.g. ptimizing the apprach t the tl change psitin). It has nt been released fr applicatins in the machining prcess itself. Sftware versin, max. 6 axes: The standard pre-assignment fr the number f axes is defined as 3. The "extended measuring" functin with the distributed measuring input at the SINAMICS mdules des nt functin (MEAC, MEASA, MEAWA). N channel gaps are pssible in a system with a maximum f tw channels. Access t drive data via system variables $nn_nn has nt been released. Only the system variables transferred in telegram 116 are pssible. ESR has nt been released. Nw, analg t the 840Di functinality, ASUBs can be started via Prfibus PLC I/O. The machine data shuld be selected the same as fr 840Di. There are n fast NCK I/O (peripherals) that are mapped in the DB10 f the PLC. Hwever, the knwn ASUB start ptins (frm DB10 r FC9 via PLC prgram) are still pssible. Fast ET200 Simatic mdules can be used t replace the DMP mdules used fr Pwerline. In this case, fr the PLC317 - in cnjunctin with NCK >= V there is a pssibility f perating ne f the tw Prfibus lines in clck cycle synchrnism (details n this are prvided in a separate descriptin). When using 31-axis sftware n an NCU710.2, 6 f the 31 axes can be used and 4 channels frm 10 channels. Machine data $MN_MAXNUM_PLC_CTRL_AXES is n lnger in the data set. It has been replaced by MD MD $MN_POSCTRL_CYCLE_DELAY must be zer. Check the existing data backup. Machine data $MA_RATED_OUTVAL[] must have a value f zer. IMD (Integrated Mnitring & Diagnstic) : The feedback signal in the GUD variable _PM_MISSING_TOOL_REFRESH after writing 1 t variables is nly updated when the screen changes. Safety: There is a new handling ptin that invlves synchrnized actins r the synchrnized actin elements. Up t status 1.3 (NCK 62), using the SI ptin - synchrnized actin level 2 was simultaneusly internally set. This meant that the channel MD 28250, NUM_SYNC_ELEMENTS was able t be set t a value > 159. This situatin changes with NCK release 67. The synchrnized actin level 2 is n lnger included in Safety. This is the reasn that there is a new machine data in which the synchrnized actin elements fr SAFE.SPF are defined, MD 28251, NUM_SAFE_SYNC_ELEMENTS. Siemens AG 2011 I DT MC R&D 51 Page 7 f 34

8 CNC Sftware 2.7 SP1 HF6 With ptin SLP_I_O=1, a maximum f 500 can be written t this machine data - and fr SPL_I_O=2, a maximum f Hwever, the number (cunt) f required synchrnized actin elements shuld be determined in rder t avid that the perfrmance is unnecessarily reduced. The number (cunt) f the free SI synchrnized actin elements can be read using the system variable $AC_SAFE_SYNAC_MEM. If this variable is called befre the start and after SAFE.SPF has run, then the difference is the number (cunt) f elements that SAFE.SPF ccupies. This difference shuld be entered int MD with a certain amunt f reserve. An index 1-5 must be specified when writing t MD using synchrnized actins. Safety: Changed checksums fr safety functinality integrated in the drive. As a result f the new safety functins integrated in the drive, the checksums fr these functins must be re-acknwledged. T d this, "95" (Safety-cmmissining) must be entered int parameter p10. The parameters f the actual checksums must then be cpied t the parameters f the reference checksums: p9798 t p9799 p9898 t p9899 Then, p10 must be again set t zer. As a cnsequence, the values are autmatically saved (p971 is set t 1). Wait until the data has been cmpletely saved. The peratins can als be initiated in HMI-Advanced under IBN/NC/Safety Integrated using the sftkeys "Activate cmmissining mde" and "Deactivate cmmissining mde". The help functin M6 is n lnger utput as standard a blck search. Cunter-measure: Change the help functin grup in MD $MC_AUXFU_PREDEF_GROUP[5] int a free grup. If the value f MD18210 deviates frm the standard pre-assignment, in rder t upgrade frm SW1.4 / 2.4 t SW1.5 / 2.5, then as a minimum, MD18210 must be increased by 21 MB DRAM. HT2 can be used as handheld peratr unit frm sftware release 1.5 HF5 / 2.4 SP1 and higher. Depending n the setting in basesys.ini, the HT2 is bted frm the master (refer t the general infrmatin n netwrked systems). The master can be an NCU as well as als a PCU 50. Tl manager: There is a new handling ptin. If several real magazines are being used, then this can be enabled using an ptin. A real magazine is included in the basic scpe. Fr cmpatibility reasns, the previus ptin $ON_TECHNO_FUNCTION_MASK Bit4=1 must still be set t 1 - hwever it is nt included in the license handling. Tlbx frm V and higher and Step 7 frm V5.4 SP2 and higher are required. The retentive memry f the PLC 319 is limited t 256kB. Deleting PLC 319: After deleting the PLC, by actuating the PLC rtary switch r frm Step 7, the PLC prgram is subsequently autmatically reladed. If PLC initializatin is initiated using the peratr actin - PLC switch in psitin 3 and pwer ff/n, then the PLC prgram is nt autmatically laded. This is als then n lnger realized with the abve mentined sequence f peratr actins. The actual cycle time is n lnger available in DB5 but in DB8. The cycle time can als be called via the start infs f the OB1. The PLC mdule IM153-2 MLFB 6ES AA02-0XB0 cannt be used. Cunter-measure: 6ES AA03-0XB0 The PLC series (standard) cmmissining archive must be generated when the PLC is in the stp state. Otherwise, it cannt be guaranteed that the PLC resumes cyclic peratin after lading the data backup. The star/delta changever with FC17 requires Sinamics parameters. Prerequisites: The apprpriate DDS/MDS must be set-up in the drive! P827[0] P827[1] P827[n] must nt be equal t ne anther! PLC 319, PrfiNet functinality: CBA PLC cmmunicatin has been released. Blcks FC1007 AG_LOCK, FC1008 AG_UNLOCK, FC1010 AG_CNTRL have nt been released. The FORCEN [FORCING] functin f the PLC in cnjunctin with 840D sl has nly been released. It is pssible with the PLC317 frm PLC perating system >= V (e.g. 2.4 SP1 HF11) / PLC319 and higher with a PLC perating system >= V (e.g. 2.4 SP1 HF11) and higher. Fr 840D sl, it is nt permissible that the VDI interface signal DB10.DBX57.3 is cnnected up. HMI-Advanced sftware / cmmissining tl frm 7.6 and higher is required t cmmissin the drive. Functins t measure i and n using Starter and HMI Advanced cannt be used in parallel. If Starter measurements are required, this requires a pwer OFF=>ON and then measurements must be immediately made using Starter. Measurements perfrmed with Starter must nt be preceded with measurements perfrmed using HMI-Advanced. If a SINAMICS cmpnent is replaced r upgraded, then the firmware release must be checked and if required, brught t the riginal release status. The machine data t describe the spindle dynamics must be set s that they apprximately crrespnd t the actual dynamics f the spindle. f the values are unnecessarily increased, then alarms can ccur at the transitin frm spindle peratin t psitining peratin. NCU 7xx.2 PN: It is nt pssible t access Prfinet PLC I/O frm the NCK via system variables. NCU 7xx.2 PN: Prfinet interfaces 1 and 2 (upper tw) are available. The "Parking axis" functin with an SMI encder is nt pssible withut pwer ff/n. Alarm 7300: If NC archives frm sftware releases < NCK are used, Alarm 7300 is utput if MD18235=0. MD18235=20000 is the standard setting. The functin "Apprach fixed stp G75" is nt permissible fr active radius cmpensatin G41 / G42 (Alarm 14091, Index 9). During fixed-pint apprach with G75, the fixed pint is apprached with nn-linear interplatin (RTLIOF). As a result, the axis are traversed with the set jerk fr the psitining axes ($MA_JOG_AND_POS_MAX_JERK). Machine data 11295[0..9] nw cnfigures the memry. When a change is made, this is nt signaled by an alarm. Values deviating frm the standard must be remved in existing archives befre making the upgrade. Alarm 8025: Advanced Surface 6FC5800-0AS07-0YB0 is an ptin and is interlcked using an ptin data. If yu wish t use the X127 service interface with a PG/PC fr an NCU7x0.2 with SW 2.6, then it has t be nted that the netwrk interface f the PG/PC perates in the "DHCP client" mde - i.e. the "IP address is autmatically allcated". If the netwrk interface f the PG/PC has been set t a fixed IP ( xx), then althugh a ping ges t X127, neither with Step7 nr with an HMI is it pssible t g nline. The firewall is activated as the default setting. STEP 7 hardware cnfiguratin Sinumerik NCU 7xx.2 PN: The different versins V2.4 / V2.6 / V2.7 in the hardware catalg refer t the apprpriate PLC perating system f the PLC 319. The PLC perating system is part f the NCU sftware and thus depends n the NCU sftware versin. The perating system included in the sftware versin can be checked in the diagnstic screen (Diagnsis / Versin / PLC / Details). As a cnsequence, the NCU must be selected in the STEP 7 hardware cnfiguratin. Example: The NCU Sftware Versin 2.7 cmprises a PLC perating system 319-3PN/DP Versin xx. Therefre, a NCU 7xx.2 PN (V2.7) must be selected in the hardware cnfiguratin. The Sftware Versin 2.7 SP1 requires the PLC Tlbx V f the 2.7 Sftware Versin V (r later). The NCU Link has nt been released in cmbinatin with safety axes. The behavir f the NCK with regard t the dynamic ffset values ACC, ACCLIMA, VELOLIM, VELOLIMA, JERKLIM, JERKLIMA has changed. The machine data descriptin shws the individual effect. Archives with MD = false are incmpatible. The machine data (hmi_functin_mask) must always be set. In applicatins in which the interface signal is always set t "1", the spindle is nw rtated in the incrrect directin with G331/G332. T achieve a behavir that is cmpatible with earlier versins, the bit 22 in MD35035 must be set t "1" (the standard default is 0). Archives with MD28253=100 (ld default value) may be incmpatible. Change the MD int 200 (new default). Archives with MD19730[0] =0 are incmpatible. Sftkeys are missing in MDA. Change the MD int 804hex. Due t an implementatin errr, Spline Interplatin culd be released withut a license alarm. If this feature has been used, yu require a new license key. S far, the gear stage 1 culd be preset with 0 and 1 in the DB[axis].DBB16. Nw, a gear stage change is always requested when specifying 0 in the data byte 16. Upn acknwledgement f the gear stage change with "0", the Alarm "Actual gear stage des nt crrespnd t the setpint gear stage" is utput. It may be necessary t adapt the user PLC prgram. The functin TANGON with additinal parameter "P" has nt been released. Remedy: Use the standard setting "S". The Siemens cycles are laded upn each startup frm the CF card t the CPU. This behavir can be switched ff / n by using the service cmmands sc disable s_cycles / sc enable s_cycles and perfrming a subsequent general NC reset. The cntents f the Siemens GUD variables (SGUD) have been relcated in PGUD. T be able t lad archives cmprising SGUD, these must be prcessed. Otherwise, the cntents f the SGUD and PGUD variables may be prvided twice. Grinding technlgy: The new functin "Calculate grinding wheel peripheral speed in diameter" has nt been released due t AP The SD43235 has a speed imit f 10,000 rpm as default value. When upgrading t sftware versin NCK r later and spindle speeds exceeding 10,000 rpm, the SD43235 must be increased t the crrespnding value. The speed is limited by SD43235 if the system variable $AC_SMAXVELO_INFO[n] has the value 21. Multitl as manual tl: With repeated selectin (f tls within this manual multitl), in the sequence T="x" M06 --> T0 M06 --> T="Y" M06 --> T0 M06, the identifier manual tl is nt set upn the secnd tl selectin. As a result, the system tries t stre the multitl in the magazine with the next T0 M06. When lading the tplgy frm a Sinumerik 840D sl with NCU730.2 PN (0AA2) int an empty Starter prject, errrs ccur during uplading. The nline access t the CU_INT functins prperly. The functin N<Nx has nt been released. Safety When upgrading the system frm SW 2.6 t 2.7, the fllwing checksum r DCC alarms may ccur: New machine data / cnfirmatin f the axial checksums requested T ensure the future functinality, machine data are already included in NCK As these machine data are als included in the checksum, yu have t cnfirm the axis-specific checksums when upgrading t the Versin 2.7. Alarm Cde 231 Further, the alarm with cde 231 (resp. alarm with cde 232) may ccur n rtary axes n accunt f this new machine data. This results frm the different values entered in the machine data 36947, $MA_SAFE_VELO_X_HYSTERESIS resp. p9547. The standard value "10" fr the parameter p9547 has been entered in the drive; fr NCK, this value has been cnverted t the rtary axis. T prevent this alarm during startup, this machine data must be adapted. This is pssible either via the HMI functin "Cpy SI data " r by manually entering "10" in the machine data $MA_SAFE_VELO_X_HYSTERESIS. The cnfiguratin cmprises ne r several DQI encders. During cmmissining, the Alarm with identifier "6" is utput. Remedy: Set the bit 0 in the drive parameter p9515 (incrementer). Further, check the parameter values p9523=r470, p9524=r471, p9525=r472 and p9529=r475. If necessary, adjust the parameters 95xx accrding t r47x. 5. SINUMERIK Operate 5. 1 Ntes regarding SINUMERIK Operate: The SINUMERIK Operate 2.7 SP1 sftware is autmatically started as a cmpnent f the CNC sftware 2.7 SP1 when NCU 7x0.2 is started. SINUMERIK Operate is als called "internal SINUMERIK Operate" (cntrary t the "external SINUMERIK Operate" n the PCU 50). The internal SINUMERIK Operate can nly be perated frm an peratr panel with TCU (e.g. OP 012+TCU, HT 8,...) which is cnnected at X120 f NCU 7x0 using Ethernet. Operatr cntrl via PC/PG using the VNC viewer is pssible. The cnfiguratin data such as e.g. PLC message and alarm texts must be saved n the CF card f the NCU in the crrespnding directries under /card/user/sinumerik/hmi/... r /card/em/sinumerik/hmi/... (refer t the cmmissining instructins HMI sl). The file system n the CF card can nly be accessed "nline", i.e. nly when the NCU is running. Data can be transferred using a USB stick r netwrk cnnectin via the SINUMERIK Operate peratr interface (Cmmissining / System data area) r using a netwrk cnnectin and the RCS Cmmander tl r WinSCP. IMPORTANT: Names f cnfiguratin files must always be written in lwer case letters. When perating an NCU withut TCU (i.e. nly with HMI Advanced r HMI sl n PCU 50), the internal HMI sl must be deactivated. This is realized using a service cmmand "sc disable hmi". Operatr interface sftware HMI-Advanced 7.6 SP1 (r later) r the cmmissining tl 7.6 SP1 (r later) is required t cmmissin the drive. Only 1 SINUMERIK Operate may be active at 1 NCU - either the internal SINUMERIK Operate r 1 external HMI-Advanced r 1 SINUMERIK Operate fr PCU 50 / PC. Exceptins: Cmmissining / service; HMI-Advanced fr the main peratr statin with permanently assigned MCP and 1 tl lading statin with SINUMERIK Operate withut MCP. After changing the NC cnfiguratin r reading-in r dwnlading an NC series cmmissining archive, then an explicit data alignment may be necessary fr the simulatin. This is initiated in the cmmissining / HMI area using the "Simulatin Pwer On" sftkey n the 2nd vertical sftkey bar. Optin 6FC5800-0AP22-0YB0 simultaneus recrding: The prgram runtime display can be activated using MD $MC_PROCESSTIMER_MODE. Ladable cmpile cycles are nt backed up using NC series cmmissining archive because they are saved n the CF card f the NCU and are kept fr a general NC reset. They can be handled the same as HMI cnfiguratin data. The use f upper case/lwer case letters when specifying paths in SELECT instructins f jb lists, which refer t the part prgrams n the CF card r USB stick, is relevant and must be strictly bserved. Handling special characters in the editr: Text files can be edited using the SINUMERIK Operate Editr if the text files use the LF character (0aH) r the character string CRLF (0d0aH) as line r end f blck identifier. The editr cannt pen binary files. Files with the fllwing extensins.exe,.lib,.elf,.arc,.ts,.zip,.so,.png,.bmp,.ico,.cfs,.bin,.qm,.hmi,.cfg,.acx,.emf,.alm,.ard,.tgz,.pte,.cyc can neither be pened. Files that are newly generated frm the SINUMERIK Operate Editr are UTF-8-cded - and have the LF Siemens AG 2011 I DT MC R&D 51 Page 12 f 34

When pening files, the SINUMERIK Operate Editr assumes that the files are UTF-8-cded. If files with anther cding are pened, e.g. with Windws page cding, then the special characters are nly crrectly displayed if the SINUMERIK Operate was changed ver t the apprpriate system language. This als invlves e.g. files that were generated using the HMI-Advanced Editr. When pening with the SINUMERIK Operate Editr, the cding f such files is nt changed. There is n autmatic cnversin int UTF-8-cding. If files were generated r prcessed with an external editr (e.g. Ntepad under Windws) and nt the SINUMERIK Operate Editr, then it shuld be nted that the file is saved, UTF-8-cded. When using Ntepad, and when saving the file as encding select "UTF-8" in the Save As dialg bx. If special characters are nt being used, then "ANSI" can als be specified as encding. Fr the V24 data transfer, a V24 mdule must be integrated int the NCU. Ntice: Different V24 mdules are required fr the NCUs 7x0.2 and 7x0.3. The V24 baudrate is limited t max ShpMill / ShpTurn: The functin "Blck search upn selectin / prcessing frm the editr " shuld be deactivated via the NC MD = 1 ($MNS_SWITCH_TO_MASCHINE_MASK Bit 3) because therwise a malfunctin f the peratr interface may result. The graphic tl display can nly be deactivated (MD=0mm) resp. activated (MD>0mm) via the MD TM_MAG_PLACE_DISTANCE. 6. Infrmatin regarding the NCU base sftware: The Linux perating system f the NCU 7x0 is als knwn as the NCU base sftware, analg t the base sftware fr the PCU The assciated dcumentatin is prvided n the DVD supplied in IM7. When bting, the NCU base sftware ensures that the NC, PLC and HMI sftware start - and if it is being used - that the TCU is als bted. The NCU base sftware is user-rientated, i.e. yu must lgn with a lgin and passwrd and yu are then allcated certain access rights. Presently, this is nly relevant fr the access t a Linux service shell r fr access t the CF card using RCS cmmander r WinSCP. Fr cmmissining and service, the "manufact" lgin is used tgether with the passwrd "SUNRISE" (bserve upper and lwer case letters!). The Linux service shell is entered at the TCU by simultaneusly pressing the "Area changever" and "Recall" keys (F10 and F9), fllwed by bting the NCU service system frm the USB stick. After bting the NCU 7x0 frm a USB stick with the NCU service system, the "manufact" lgin and "SUNRISE" passwrd must als be entered assuming that the CF card cntains CNC sftware that can run. If this is nt the case (e.g. if the CF card is empty), then in this case, the lgin is "admin" fllwed by "SUNRISE" as passwrd. Using the cmmand "sc help", in this service shell yu btain a list f the syntax f all f the available service cmmands Netwrking: Please bserve the current dcumentatin "Operatr cmpnents and netwrking (IM5) Versin 03/2010"! All f the settings regarding netwrking and TCU cnfiguratin can als be perfrmed using the "System Netwrk Center"; this is available n the PCU 50 as well as n the NCU. Imprtant system and netwrk settings f the NCU base sftware are present in the basesys.ini file in the directry /card/user/system/etc. - and can be changed there. The riginal basesys.ini is lcated under /card/siemens/system/etc with the name "template-basesys.ini". Every NCU in the plant r system netwrk shuld be allcated a unique ("infrmative") cmputer name with the entry "Hst name=..." in basesys.ini. Upper case/lwer case letters, numbers and minus symbl characters are permitted. The DHCP server f the NCU shuld always be switched n. All peratr statins in the plant/system netwrk (TCUs, HT8, PCU 50) are managed n the NCU with "ON_MASTER", i.e. the cnfig.ini files - relevant during the runtime - and als the.leases file with all f the IP addresses allcated in the system are lcated there. The cnfig.ini files are distributed t all ther NCUs / PCUs frm the master NCU with the service cmmand "sc distribute tcudata". With the service cmmand "sc clear dhcp" fllwed by pwering dwn/pwering-up the cmplete system, the NCUs / PCUs are allcated, their specified IP addresses and these are re-allcated fr the TCUs and MCPs; the.leases file is then distributed t all ther NCUs / PCUs. Imprtant: With the System Netwrk Center, tab OPs, the cnfig.ini files f all peratr statins can be directly edited n the master NCU n each PCU 50. The data is autmatically distributed t all NCUs / PCUs with each change. 7. Cycle packages: In the CNC Sftware Versin 2.7, the fllwing cycle packages are included n the CF card: Standard cycles (technlgical cycles) Measuring cycles ISO cycles ShpMill cycles ShpTurn cycles All these Siemens cycles are autmatically laded int the NC during the NCU startup. The crrespnding variables are stred in the definitin file PGUD. Imprtant infrmatin: The "prgramguide" (earlier, cycle supprt) in SINUMERIK Operate 2.7 is based n the these cycle packages 2.7. Cycle calls in the part prgrams fr these cycles cannt be re-cmpiled and prcessed with the cycle Siemens AG 2011 I DT MC R&D 51 Page 14 f 34
