7 Instlling Servie Impt Prepring Resoure Mnger mster host Note If you re using Resoure Mnger 4.2.5, skip this step. 1 Log in to the Resoure Mnger mster host s zenoss. 2 Verify tht ZenUp is instlled, nd Resoure Mnger is registered. zenup sttus If the result is zenup: ommnd not found, ZenUp is not instlled. Stop this proedure nd instll ZenUp. If the result is similr to the following exmple, ontinue this proedure. Produt: zenoss-resmgr (id = zenoss-resmgr-4.2.4) Home: /opt/zenoss Revision: 179 Updted On: Fri Aug 12 13:42: The vlue of the Revision field is the reommended pth set (RPS) numer. 3 Compre the RPS numer returned y the zenup sttus ommnd with the revision numer of the ltest ville RPS for Resoure Mnger. If the revision numer is less thn 179, log in to the Zenoss Support site, nd then downlod nd instll the ltest RPS. If the revision numer is 179 or greter, ontinue this proedure. Prepring the Servie Impt server host Note If you re instlling Servie Impt on the Resoure Mnger mster host, skip this proedure. 1 Log in to the Servie Impt server host s root, or s user with superuser privileges. 2 Configure firewll ports or disle the firewll. You my disle the firewll now, nd then onfigure firewll ports lter. To onfigure firewll ports, see Firewll port requirements on pge 8. Note When Resoure Mnger is strted for the first time, Resoure Mnger genertes new, unique key pir for user zenoss, with the OpenSSH ssh-keygen ommnd. All remote hosts use the sme SSH key pir for user zenoss. For more informtion, refer to the Zenoss Resoure Mnger Administrtion Guide. Configuring key-sed ess This proedure enles ommunition etween the Resoure Mnger mster host nd the Servie Impt server host. Note If you onfigure key-sed ess, do not onfigure pssword ess. 1 Log in to the Servie Impt server host s root, or s user with superuser privileges. 2 Reset the pssword of user zenossimpt. psswd -uf zenossimpt 3 Strt shell s user zenossimpt. su - zenossimpt 4 Crete new pssword for user zenossimpt. psswd The psswd ommnd prompts you for the new psword. 5 Crete diretory nd file to hold puli keys. Enter the pssword. The ssh ommnd invokes t on the Servie Impt server host to ppend the puli key of user zenoss on the Resoure Mnger host to the uthorized keys file of user zenossimpt. If you re upgrding the Servie Impt server on its own, dedited host, ontinue with this step. If you re upgrding the Servie Impt server on the Resoure Mnger mster host, skip this step nd proeed to the next setion.
