2 Remove the protetive tpe nd film overing the mhine, nd lso from the Touhsreen. Remove the plsti g ontining the ink rtridges from on top of the pper try. 3 Choose your lnguge Press or to disply your lnguge nd press the desired lnguge. Press OK. Press Yes or No. 2 Connet Mke sure you hve ll the omponents. the power ord WARNING The mhine must e fitted with n erthed plug. IMPORTANT DO NOT onnet the USB le yet (if you re using USB le). Connet the power ord. (Exmple for UK) If you set the wrong lnguge, you n hnge it fter setting the dte nd time. (uuadvned User s Guide: Chnging the Touhsreen lnguge) 4 Instll the ink rtridges CAUTION If ink gets in your eyes, wsh it out with wter t one nd ll dotor if you re onerned. Mke sure you instll the Introdutory Ink Crtridges inluded with your mhine first. Mke sure tht the power is turned on. The Touhsreen will show No Ink Crtridge. You n djust the ontrol pnel ngle to red the Touhsreen more esily. Hold the edge of the ontrol pnel to void identlly pressing ny of the Touhsreen options. The Wrning LED on the ontrol pnel will sty on until you hve instlled the ink rtridges. 2

3 Open the ink rtridge over. d Unpk the ink rtridge. Turn the green relese lever on the ornge protetive pking ounterlokwise until it liks to relese the vuum sel. Then remove the ornge protetive pking s shown. Remove the ornge protetive prt. IMPORTANT DO NOT shke the ink rtridges. If ink stins your skin or lothing, wsh with sop or detergent t one. DO NOT touh the rtridge in the re indited, s this n use the mhine not to funtion with the rtridge. 2 Do not throw wy the ornge protetive prt. You will need it if you trnsport the mhine. 2 3

4 e Tke re to mth the stiker olour with the rtridge olour s shown in the digrm elow. Instll eh ink rtridge in the diretion of the rrow on the lel. 5 Lod plin A4 pper Pull the pper try ompletely out of the mhine. 2 Open the output pper try over. f Gently push the k of the ink rtridge mrked PUSH until the rtridge lever lifts. After ll the ink rtridges re instlled, lose the ink rtridge over. The mhine will prepre the ink tue system for printing. This proess will tke pproximtely four minutes. Do not turn off the mhine. We reommend you perform the next step while witing. Gently press nd slide the pper width guides nd then the pper length guide to fit the pper size. Mke sure tht the tringulr mrks on the pper width guides nd pper length guide line up with the mrk for the pper size you re using

5 d Fn the stk of pper well to void pper jms nd misfeeds. f Gently djust the pper width guides to the pper with oth hnds. Mke sure tht the pper width guides touh the edges of the pper. Alwys mke sure tht the pper is not urled or wrinkled. e Gently put the pper into the pper try print side down nd top edge first. Chek tht the pper is flt in the try. IMPORTANT Be reful tht you do not push the pper in too fr; it my lift t the k of the try nd use pper feed prolems. g h Close the output pper try over. Slowly push the pper try ompletely into the mhine. i While holding the pper try in ple, pull out the pper support until it liks, nd then unfold the pper support flp. 2 5

6 6 Chek the print qulity When the preprtion proess hs finished, the Touhsreen shows Lod pper nd press [OK]. Press OK. Chek the qulity of the four olour loks on the sheet. (lk/yellow/yn/mgent) If ll lines re ler nd visile, press Yes to finish the qulity hek nd go to the next step. OK 7 Set the dte nd time Setting the dte nd time llows the mhine to len the print hed regulrly nd mintin optimum print qulity. It lso llows the mhine to nme files reted when using the Sn to Medi feture. Enter the lst two digits of the yer on the Touhsreen, nd then press OK. If lines re missing, press No nd follow the steps on the Touhsreen. Poor d Repet for month nd dy. Enter the time on the Touhsreen in 24-hour formt. Press OK. (e.g. Enter 3 for 203.) Updte to the ltest Windows Servie Pk efore instlling MFL-Pro Suite. When the On-Line Registrtion sreen ppers, follow the on-sreen instrutions. Clik Next. If you do not wnt to set your mhine s the defult printer, ler the Set s Defult Printer hek ox, nd then lik Next. When the Setup is Complete window ppers, onfirm the settings, nd then lik Next. USB Windows Mintosh (DCP-J752DW only) The Brother Tril Photo Print sreen ppers only one fter restrting. We reommend you try the Brother Tril Photo Print seletion to see the high qulity output ville from your Brother mhine. 10 2 USB Finish nd restrt Clik Finish to restrt your omputer. After restrting the omputer, you must log on with Administrtor rights. Windows Internet ess is required for the softwre updte nd the Brother Produt Reserh nd Support Progrm. When you instll MFL-Pro Suite, Brother Help will lso e instlled utomtilly. Brother Help llows you to ess the Brother Solutions Center when you lik in the tsk try. Finish The instlltion is now omplete. If n error messge ppers during the softwre instlltion, do one of the following: - Windows XP, Windows Vist nd Windows 7 users: Run the Instlltion Dignostis loted in (Strt) > All Progrms > Brother > DCP-XXXX (where XXXX is your model nme). - Windows 8 users: To run the Instlltion Dignostis, doule-lik (Brother Utilities) on the desktop, nd then lik the drop-down list nd selet your model nme (if not lredy seleted). Clik Tools in the left nvigtion r. Depending on your seurity settings, Windows Seurity or ntivirus softwre window my pper when using the mhine or its softwre. Plese llow or permit the window to ontinue. The following sreens will pper. When the Softwre Updte Setting sreen ppers, hoose the softwre updte setting you wnt nd lik OK. When the Brother Produt Reserh nd Support Progrm sreen ppers, selet your preferene nd follow the on-sreen instrutions. (DCP-J752DW only) When the Brother Tril Photo Print sreen ppers, follow the on-sreen instrutions to print test photo. To instll optionl pplitions: Now go to Pge 27 Windows 8 users: If the Brother mnuls inluded on the CD-ROM re in PDF formt, use Adoe Reder to open them. If Adoe Reder is instlled on your omputer ut you nnot open the files in Adoe Reder, hnge the file ssoition for PDF (see How to open PDF file in Adoe Reder (Windows 8) on pge 29). 0

For M OS X v0.6.0 to users, upgrde to M OS X v x. 0 Connet the USB le DO NOT onnet the mhine to USB port on keyord or non-powered USB hu. Connet the mhine diretly to your Mintosh. 14 For Wireless Network Users For wireless network interfe users 9 Before you egin First you must onfigure the wireless network settings of your mhine to ommunite with your ess point/router. After the mhine is onfigured to ommunite with your ess point/router, omputers on your network will hve ess to the mhine. To use the mhine from these omputers, you will need to instll the drivers nd softwre. The following steps will guide you through the onfigurtion nd instlltion proess. To hieve optimum results with norml everydy doument printing, ple the Brother mhine s lose to the network ess point/router s possile with miniml ostrutions. Lrge ojets nd wlls etween the two devies s well s interferene from other eletroni devies n ffet the dt trnsfer speed of your douments. Due to these ftors, wireless my not e the est method of onnetion for ll types of douments nd pplitions. If you re printing lrge files, suh s multi-pge douments with mixed text nd lrge grphis, you my wnt to onsider hoosing USB for the fstest throughput speed. If you hve previously onfigured the wireless settings of the mhine, you must reset the network settings efore you n onfigure the wireless settings gin. On your mhine, press (Settings). Press All Settings. Press or to disply Network. Press Network. Press or to disply Network Reset. Press Network Reset. Press Yes to ept. Hold down Yes for two seonds to onfirm. The following instrutions re for infrstruture mode (onneted to omputer through n ess point/router). 18 For Wireless Network Users Mnul setup from the ontrol pnel using the Setup Wizrd (Windows, Mintosh nd moile devies) Press. Press Setup Wizrd. When Enle WLAN? is displyed, press Yes to ept. This will strt the wireless setup wizrd. To nel, press No. The mhine will serh for ville SSIDs. It will tke severl seonds to disply list of ville SSIDs. If list of SSIDs is displyed, press or to hoose the SSID you wrote down in step 0- on pge 6. Press OK. If the wireless ess point/router of the seleted SSID supports WPS, nd the mhine sks to use WPS, go to. If the mhine sks you to enter Network Key, go to d. Otherwise, go to e. If the list is lnk, hek tht the wireless ess point/router hs power nd is rodsting the SSID. Move your mhine loser to the wireless ess point/router nd try strting from gin. If your ess point is set to not rodst the SSID, you will hve to mnully dd the SSID nme. For detils, see the Softwre nd Network User s Guide. Press Yes to onnet your mhine using WPS. (If you hoose No (Mnul) to ontinue mnul onfigurtion, go to d to enter Network Key.) When the Touhsreen instruts you to strt WPS, press the WPS utton on your wireless ess point/router, nd then press Next to proeed. Go to e. d e Enter the Network Key you wrote down in step 0- on pge 6 using the Touhsreen. Press to yle etween lower se nd upper se. Press to yle etween letters, numers nd speil hrters. Downlod nd instll Brother iprint&sn (Android /ios/windows Phone) from your moile devie s pplition downlod site. You n lso use AirPrint (ios) with this mhine. Wireless LAN report If the wireless LAN report tht printed shows tht the onnetion filed, hek the error ode on the printed report nd refer to the following instrutions.
