5 Overview WeView Livesope MV Ver. 2.1 is softwre tht llows you to use n Intrnet or the Internet to monitor imges distriuted from the Network Cmer Server VB150/VB101 or the Network Cmer VB-C10/VB-C10R (herefter referred to in this mnul s "mer server"). This softwre onsists of two pkges: WeView Livesope MV Mnger, tht lets you rete monitoring sreens or hve entrlized ontrol of severl mer servers; nd WeView Livesope MV Sttion, tht lets you monitor imges from mers in multiple lotions nd esily downlod, view, sve, nd mnge pitures reorded in the mer server. Sine MV Mnger uses the wizrd formt for registering mer servers or reting monitoring sreens, there is no need to lern omplex opertions. You n lso hve entrlized ontrol (hnging settings or onfirming operting onditions) of mer servers instlled in multiple lotions. Monitoring sreens n e reted y seleting from rih vriety of sreen styles to est suit the size of the monitor, the numer of mer servers nd mers, nd monitoring ojetives. It is lso possile to perform suh tsks s editing mps, hnging the llotion of mer servers on the mps, or mking settings for utomti opertion sed on shedules. Introdution MV Sttion lets you ess MV dt reted in MV Mnger, freely remote ontrol mers, nd simultneously view imges from mer servers instlled in multiple lotions (up to 16 lotions), providing n effiient monitoring environment. In MV Sttion, you n esily view nd mnge still pitures reorded y the mer server s piture reording funtion nd utomtilly downlod them. 8 Tsks To Perform Prior To Monitoring Before you n strt monitoring, you need to perform the required settings s desried in "Registering Cmer Servers" (Chpter 2), "Creting Monitoring Sreens" (Chpter 3), nd "Exporting MV Dt" (Chpter 4). 1 Registering Cmer Servers The first step is to register the mer servers. The proedures in the wizrd-style formt mke the registrtion proess very esy. MV Mnger 2 Creting Monitoring Sreens The wizrd-style formt is lso used for reting monitoring sreens. Creting sreens tht suit your pplition is very esy. MV Mnger 8

Prepre folder nd set it to Shre so tht it n e essed over the network from the PC where MV Sttion is instlled. 13

14 Prior to Instlltion... Prepring the Computers At the PC where MV Mnger is to e instlled, set the sreen resolution to XGA ( ) or higher. At the PC where MV Sttion is to e instlled, set the sreen resolution to SVGA ( ) or higher. Be sure the resolution tht you set is the sme or higher thn the optimum resolution of the monitoring sreens reted in MV Mnger (see p. 30). Disply Properties Instlling the Cmer Servers First, you need to hek your mer server. If the VB-C10/VB-C10R or VB150 is eing used, there is no need to upgrde the firmwre. However, if the VB101 is eing used, hek tht the firmwre version is 3.0 or lter. See pge 10 for detils out the firmwre upgrde. Chek to e sure the mer server hs een orretly instlled nd tht the initil settings (network settings) hve een mde. Then onnet to the network. You n perform detiled settings or view tests from MV Mnger. For proedures on instlling nd setting up the mer server, plese see the mnul supplied with the mer server. Note "Mximum Numer of Clients" must e set to five or more for the VB150 (or VB101) nd to two or more for the VB-C10/VB-C10R. To mke settings for the VB101, use the "Applition Settings Pge", nd for the VB150 or VB- C10/VB-C10R, use the "WeView Livesope Settings Pge". While defult settings meet the ove requirements, the settings must e heked if ny hnges hve een mde. If onnetion ws mde from MV Sttion vi proxy server, notifition of externl devie input (see p. 78), externl devie output ontrol (see p. 79), notifition of motion detetion (see p. 80) s well s the Externl Devie Input Log Viewer (see p. 98) will not work. 14

15 Instlltion Proedures Strting Up the Instller When you ple the mouse ursor on these uttons, explntions out them pper elow the ursor. 1 When you lod the WeView Livesope MV Ver. 2.1 instller CD-ROM into the PC, the min pnel of the instller utomtilly ppers. If it does not pper, in Explorer, doule-lik "\mv2setup.exe" on the CD-ROM. Clik the uttons to strt up the instller nd proeed with instlltion. Instlling Instll MV Mnger This utton instlls oth MV Mnger nd MV Sttion. This setup is for dministrtors who mnge the mer servers nd rete monitoring sreens. Instll MV Sttion This utton instlls MV Sttion only. This setup is for opertors who view monitoring sreens. Note This produt onsists of MV Mnger nd MV Sttion for one lient. If dditionl MV Sttion instlltions re required, plese purhse seprte MV Sttion lienses. 15

16 Instlling MV Mnger 1 When you lik the Instll MV Mnger utton on the min pnel, the instller strts up nd the proess of instlling MV Mnger egins. Clik Next to ontinue the instlltion. When the folder hs een speified, lik Next. 4 Speify nme to e registered in the Progrm menu under the Strt menu, then lik Next. 5 Chek the items you hve speified nd seleted thus fr, then lik Next. The instlltion will e performed y opying files nd setting the registry. 6 When instlltion is omplete, lik Finish to exit the instller. Note After MV Mnger nd MV Sttion hve een instlled, mke the following settings if onnetions re to e mde vi proxy server. To mke proxy settings, in MV Mnger, hoose Option from the Tools menu nd lik the "HTTP proxy" utton, nd in MV Sttion, hoose Network from the Option menu nd lik the HTTP Proxy utton. 18 If you hve hnged the HTTP port numer (normlly it is 80) t the mer server, selet tht mer server on MV Mnger, lik the Properties utton on the Toolr nd e sure to hnge the HTTP port numer on the Network t (see p. 99). Sine MV estlishes n HTTP onnetion when it strts up, you need to speify the HTTP port even when Auto-selet or WV-TCP is seleted s the onnetion protool.

19 Chpter 2 Registering Cmer Servers Next, WeView Livesope MV Mnger is used to register nd set mer servers.

20 Registering Cmer Servers To register mer server, first strt up MV Mnger. To strt up MV Mnger, doule-lik the desktop ion or lik the Strt utton nd hoose MV Mnger from the Progrms menu. 22 Cmer Server Registrtion Wizrds The first tsk to perform in MV Mnger is to register mer servers tht re to e monitored. To dd mer server, simply follow the esy instrutions in the wizrd-style sreens. There re two wizrds: the Register Cmer Server wizrd, whih is used to enter the network ddress for the mer server; nd the Serh/Register Cmer Server wizrd, for uto deteting mer servers onneted to the network. Registering Cmer Server Cmer servers re registered in the following 4 steps: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Strt up the Register Cmer Server Wizrd Enter network ddress for the mer server Enter nme nd omment for the mer server Complete the settings Step 1: Strt up the Register Cmer Server Wizrd Selet Cmer Servers on the Nvigtion r, nd lik Register Cmer Server on the Toolr. When the wizrd strtup sreen ppers, lik Next. Step 2: Enter network ddress for the mer server 1 In the "Network ddress" field, enter n IP ddress or host nme for the mer server eing dded. The HTTP port numer set s property (see p. 99) of the mer server ppers s defult in the HTTP port field. Although the HTTP port numer is usully 80, if nother vlue is preferred, enter tht in the HTTP port field nd lik Next. 2 Cmer server informtion is retrieved t the entered network ddress. Enter the Administrtor ID nd Pssword in the window tht ppers, nd lik OK. 22

23 e Tip When OK is liked in Step 2, n error messge ppers in the following ses (see p. 113 for detils): MV Mnger nnot onnet to the mer server, euse the mer server is not orretly onneted to the network, the power swith on the mer server is not turned on, et. The network ddress ws not entered orretly (entry error). The mer server setting does not permit MV Mnger to ess it. The VB101 firmwre hs not een upgrded to Ver Step 3: Enter nme nd omment for the mer server e Tip You n give the mer server ny nme you wish. Enter the nme in the "Cmer server nme" field. This field nnot e left lnk. It is lso not possile to give the sme nme to more thn one mer server. You n type ny omment you wish for the mer server in the Comment field. This omment is refleted in "Comment" found in MV Mnger, the monitoring sreen nd other res, nd n e used for mking onfirmtions, et. Severl lines n e entered. It n lso e left lnk. When finished with this sreen, lik Finish. The devie nme tht ws entered nd set in the mer server s settings pge is refleted in the "Cmer server nme" field s defult. If this setting ws not mde, the network ddress tht ws entered in prt 1 of Step 2 is refleted s defult insted. In the se of VB-C10/VB-C10R, the network ddress is refleted from the eginning. Comments suh s the instlltion onditions of the mer server, the position of mers onneted to the mer server, or the ojets eing monitored re onvenient when severl mer servers nd mers re eing operted. 2 Registering Cmer Servers Step 4: Complete the settings The mer server is registered. 23

To dd more thn one mer server, repet steps 1 through 4. Deleting mer server To delete the registered mer server, selet the mer server y liking on it, then hoose Delete from the Cmer Server menu. When the mer server tht ws eing used in the reted monitoring sreen is deleted, it is lso deleted from the monitoring sreen t the sme time, nd there is possiility tht displys will not pper orretly in the monitoring sreen. 24

25 Cmer Server Registrtion Wizrds Serhing/Registering Cmer Servers Cmer servers re serhed nd registered in the following 3 steps: Step 1 Strt up the Serh/Register Cmer Server Wizrd Step 2 Serh for nd register the mer server Step 3 Complete the settings Step 1: Strt up the Serh/Register Cmer Server Wizrd Clik Serh/Register Cmer Server on the Toolr. When the wizrd strtup sreen ppers, lik Next. 2 Step 2: Serh for nd register the mer server 1 Cmer servers onneted to the network re utomtilly serhed. * If HTTP port other thn 80 is used, the Serh/ Register Cmer Server feture will only e ville with the VB150. For other mer servers, plese use the Register Cmer Server registrtion proedure desried on pge 22. Registering Cmer Servers 2 From the list of deteted mer servers, selet the one you wnt to register y liking on it, then lik the Register utton. Enter the Administrtor ID nd Pssword in the window tht ppers, then lik OK. 25

26 Cmer Server Registrtion Wizrds 3 The mer server to e registered ppers in the spe elow. To register more thn one mer server, repet the proess of seleting mer server, liking Register, nd entering the Administrtor ID nd Pssword for eh mer server you wnt to register. Cmer servers with the sme Administrtor ID nd Pssword n e seleted in multiples nd registered t one time. When finished, lik OK. Note Cmer server serh nd registrtion is not possile in the following ses in Step 2 or lter: The mer server is not on the sme LAN. (In this se, register the mer server from "Register Cmer Server". see p. 112.) MV Mnger nnot onnet to the mer server, euse the mer server is not orretly onneted to the network, the power swith on the mer server is not turned on, et. Comment will e refleted in the monitoring sreen s "Comment" setion nd n e used for onfirmtion.
