2 2 Connet the power ord Pull the Output Try out of the mhine nd then unfold the Doument Stopper. Importnt DO NOT onnet the USB le yet. Connet the power ord. 3 USB Windows For USB interfe users (Windows XP Home/XP Professionl/Windows Vist /Windows 7) 3 Before you instll The DVD-ROM Top Menu will pper. Clik Instll MFL-Pro Suite nd lik Yes if you ept the liense greements. Follow the on-sreen instrutions. Mke sure tht your omputer is ON nd you re logged on with Administrtor rights. Importnt DO NOT onnet the USB le yet. If there re ny progrms running, lose them. The sreens my differ depending on your operting system. The DVD-ROM inludes Nune PperPort 12SE. This softwre supports Windows XP Home (SP3 or greter), XP Professionl (SP3 or greter), Windows Vist (SP2 or greter) nd Windows 7. Updte to the ltest Windows Servie Pk efore instlling MFL-Pro Suite. For Windows Vist nd Windows 7, when the User Aount Control sreen ppers, lik Allow or Yes. Choose Stndrd, nd then lik Next. The instlltion ontinues. USB Windows Mintosh 4 Instll MFL-Pro Suite Put the supplied DVD-ROM into your DVD-ROM drive. If the Brother sreen does not pper utomtilly, go to Computer (My Computer), doule-lik the DVD-ROM ion, nd then doule-lik strt.exe. d For Windows Vist nd Windows 7, when the Windows Seurity sreen ppers, lik the hek ox nd lik Instll to omplete the instlltion orretly. When this sreen ppers, go to the next step. 3

4 USB Windows 5 Connet the USB le Connet the USB le to the USB port mrked with symol on your mhine. Connet the le to your omputer. 6 Finish nd restrt Clik Finish to restrt your omputer. After restrting the omputer, you must log on with Administrtor rights. The instlltion will ontinue utomtilly. Multiple sreens will pper during the instlltion. Importnt DO NOT nel ny of the sreens during the instlltion. It my tke few seonds for ll sreens to pper. When the On-Line Registrtion sreen is displyed, mke your seletion nd follow the on-sreen instrutions. If n error messge ppers during the softwre instlltion, run the Instlltion Dignostis loted in ADS (Strt)/All Progrms/Brother/ The following sreens will pper. When the Softwre Updte Setting sreen ppers, hoose the softwre updte setting you wnt nd lik OK. When the Brother Produt Reserh & Support Progrm strts up, follow the on-sreen instrutions. Internet ess is required for the softwre updte nd the Brother Produt Reserh & Support Progrm. Finish The instlltion is now omplete. Now go to Proeed to Instll Optionl Applitions on pge 7. 4

5 USB Mintosh For USB interfe users (M OS X x) 3 Before you instll Mke sure your mhine is onneted to the power nd your Mintosh is ON. You must e logged on with Administrtor rights. For M OS X to users, upgrde to M OS X x efore instlltion. 5 Instll MFL-Pro Suite Put the supplied instller DVD-ROM into your DVD-ROM drive. Doule-lik the Strt Here OSX ion to instll. 4 Connet the USB le Importnt DO NOT onnet the mhine to USB port on keyord or USB hu. Connet the mhine diretly to your Mintosh. Connet the USB le to the USB port mrked with symol on your mhine. d Plese follow the on-sreen instrutions. After the instlltion, the Brother softwre will serh for the Brother devie. This will tke few moments to omplete. Choose your mhine from the list, nd then lik OK. USB Windows Mintosh Connet the le to your omputer. e When this sreen ppers, lik Next. 5

BizCrd lets you mnge the informtion from snned usiness rds, suh s nmes, ompnies, miling ddresses, phone/fx numers nd e-mil ddresses, on your omputer. Simply sn, or import your usiness rds nd Presto! BizCrd utomtilly sves the dt nd imge for eh rd. Different viewing modes re ville for esy serhing, editing, reting, nd sorting. Mke sure you re logged on with Administrtor rights. Open the top menu gin y ejeting nd then reinserting the DVD-ROM or y doule-liking the strt.exe progrm. The DVD-ROM Top Menu will pper. Clik Additionl Applitions. Clik the utton for the pplition you wnt to instll. d Go k to the Additionl Applitions sreen to instll more pplitions. 7

8 How to sn to omputer 1 Snning doument You n sn nd sve douments s PDF files using the Sn to File feture. To sn douments nd onfigure vrious settings, plese ensure you hve instlled the driver nd onneted the mhine to your omputer y following the instrutions in this guide. Confirm tht the mhine is onneted to your omputer vi USB. Lod your doument. Press the Sn to PC key. The mhine strts to feed nd sn your doument. The snned dt is sved in PDF formt on the omputer tht is onneted to the mhine vi the USB le. You n hnge Sn to PC settings, suh s the sved file formt, using ControlCenter. For detils, see the User s Guide on the DVD-ROM. You n use ControlCenter or the snner driver to initite snning from the omputer, s well s sve snned dt onto USB flsh memory drive onneted to the mhine. For detils, see the User s Guide on the DVD-ROM. 8
