It will autmatically d flders fr A3, A4, A5 r US Letter page sizes in either saddle stich f perfect binding. Fr the frmats A3, US Letter, A4, 210x210, A5, A6, A7, 99x210mm and business cards in the mst cmmn sizes, it autmatically d step and repeat, N-Up and cut and stack impsing. Nte that sme ther page sizes will wrk, if nt, the jb will fail. All settings fr the app can be set by variables giving yu the pssibility t send jbs thrugh the web prtal client r ther systems that can access the submit pint. One example flw with a pre-cnfigured submit pint is part f the package. Versin 5 is a majr upgrade with supprt fr the larger B2 (530x750mm) sheet size that is used in larger digital presses. And a few ther useful ptins have been added. This app uses callas pdftlbx server as the impsitin engine and cnsequently yu have t have it installed n yur Switch server. Yu have a few settings besides the impsing settings themselves, yu can add page bxes t the impsed area with trimbx and bleedbx. This can be useful fr pst prcessing f the impsed result. Yu can set the gap between the pages n the sheet and als set the bleed fr the pages. There is als an ptin t add a slug line and fr that yu can add yur wn text t the slug line, it can als be rtated and psitined. New in versin 5 is the additin f press marks and a clr bar. The impsed sheet sizes are 458x318 mm r the larger 530x750mm (B2), if yu need any ther size f the resulting PDF it can easily be changed with a pst prcessing prfile in pdftlbx r PitStp Server.

Cmpatibility third-party applicatins The app requires callas pdftlbx server versin 9.2 r versin 10 t be installed n the system, it will use the CLI versin f the prgram. The app will try t find the prgram in its nrmal installed lcatins, if that is nt successful yu can by right clicking n the app icn in the app sectin if the Flw elements and chsing Set path t applicatin t pint t where the callas pdftlbx server CLI can be fund by the app. This will then be remembered by the app. This prcess is needed when pdftlbx is updated t a new versin. Cnnectins This app can have several input cnnectins and use the traffic light utging cnnectins fr Success r Errr. Prperties detailed inf The app has several ptins and sme are depending n ther prperties values. The default settings are as belw.

Yu have three extra ptins when this is selected. Type f binding, Drpdwn with values Flder saddle stitching (the default setting), Flder saddle stitching, splitted r Flder perfect binding. The setting Flder saddle stitching, splitted will nly wrk n the larger sheet and with French flding. It will create tw impsitins as 2-up n the sheet. This sheet can then be cut in half fr pst prcessing. Perfect binding Saddle stitch Saddle stich, splitted

Vertical flding gap r Hrizntal flding gap In the Bklet ptin there is this new prperty, it can be set fr vertical flding gap r hrizntal flding gap. The values will nly be used when they are relevant depending n the type f impsitin scheme that is used. Default = 0. Nte that decimal delimiters must be with a dt, nt cmma. Gap fr splitted sheet Fr the splitted ptin there is a special prperty fr the splitted gap. Even thugh the value is selectable in the ther types f binding its value will nly be used when the splitted scheme is used. Default = 0. Nte that decimal delimiters must be with a dt, nt cmma. Add fld marks Drpdwn with Yes r N, default = N. Yu nw have the ptin t add Flding marks t the impsed layut. Page creep Set the value f the paper thickness and the page creep will be calculated and applied t the binding, default = 0. Nte that if Add page bxes are set t Yes they will be set t the smallest value fr the impsed layut. Nte that decimal delimiters must be with a dt, nt cmma. Small cards. This is the chice fr business cards r A7 pages (r slightly larger). When selecting this ptin yu have three mre ptins. Number f business cards n sheet, Drpdwn with values 16, 20, 21, 56, 60 r 72. Nte that A7 pages will nly wrk with the value f 16. Default value = 20. Nte that Small cards will nly utput t the smaller sheet size fr 16, 20 r 21 cards per sheet and n the larger sheet fr the thers. If fr example the small sheet is selected tgether with 60 cards per sheet it will autmatically change t the larger sheet fr the impsitin. Type f impsitin, Drpdwn with values N-Up, Step and repeat r Cut and stack. Default = Step and repeat.

If set t Yes the backside will be rtated. Fr N-Up and Cut and stack the dd pages in the jb file are cnsidered t be frnt pages and even pages t be the back side. Step and repeat, the same page will be repeated ver the sheet. N-Up, all the pages will be placed n the sheet r sheets if they exceed the number f pages per sheet. Cut and stack, the pages will be arranged s that pages turn up in the page rder dwn thrugh the stack f sheets. It will be distributed ver the sheet s that yu get a number f stacks fr the minimal number f printed sheets. Print n back Print n back, Drpdwn with Yes r N. Fr sme impsitin frmats the backside has t be rtated t wrk prperly in the press. If set t Yes the backside will be rtated. Default value = N, Fr N-Up and Cut and stack the dd pages in the jb file are cnsidered t be frnt pages and even pages t be n the back side. Vertical page gap The distance between each page vertically n the sheet. This prperty is nt used in Bklet. Default = 0. Nte that decimal delimiters must be with a dt, nt cmma. Hrizntal page gap The distance between each page hrizntally n the sheet. This prperty is nt used in Bklet. Default = 0. Nte that decimal delimiters must be with a dt, nt cmma.

6 Autmatic impsitin v.5 Page 6/9 Bleed value The value f the bleedbx, this will give yu bleed between pages if yu have set the impsitin t have gaps between the pages. It will als set this value as bleed t the utside f the impsed layut. If the gap values are larger than 2 times the bleed value there will be a white gap between the bleeds. If the gap value is less than the bleed value the bleed between the pages will be half f the gap value. Nte that if the gap value is t large the impsitin might fail because the sheet size isn t large enugh. Nte that this value is nt dependent n the jb files eventual bleed value. If it has mre bleed than this prperty that bleed will be crpped. If the pages have n bleed there will still be a gap the size f this prperty value. Default = 2. Nte that decimal delimiters must be with a dt, nt cmma. Crp mark length Units Yu can set the length f the crp marks that are placed arund each page utside f the bleed bx n the impsitin. If the gap between the pages are smaller s that there is n white space in the gap there will be n crp marks. The units used fr the Page gap, Bleed and Crp mark length prperties. Drpdwn menu with the selectin f mm, inch r pints. Inches must be entered in decimal numbers, like fr 1/8. Nte that decimal delimiters must be with a dt, nt cmma. Default = mm Add page bxes t impsitin area This prperty will add a trimbx and bleedbx arund the impsed layut. Drpdwn menu with Yes r N, Default = Yes Add clrbars and registratin marks Drpdwn menu with Yes r N, default = N. If set t Yes registratin marks will be added n each side f the sheet and a clrbar with CMYK patches in 100, 80, 40 % values and RGB patches will be placed n the right edge f the sheet. When using the smaller sheet size sme impsitins will be t wide fr the clrbar t fit n the sheet. In this case the jb will fail and an errr message will be sent t the lg. A separate pdftlbx Fixup will be supplied that has the clrbar and the registratin marks, if yu need the clrbar in anther way n yur sheet yu can turn the clrbar ff in the app prperties and add the clrbar frm the supplied Fixup in a separate step using pdftlbx in Switch. Add slugline t bttm f sheet Yu have the ptin t add a slugline t the sheet, The standard infrmatin in the slugline is the date and time f when the impsed PDF was created and the sheet number. Yu can als add text in the prperty field r frm variables in Switch. The ptins yu have in the drpdwn are: N slugline, Add slugline and psitin, Add slugline next t impsitin. Default = N slugline. N slugline, n slugline will be added t the sheet.

7 Autmatic impsitin v.5 Page 7/9 Add slugline and psitin, this ptin will add a slugline and give yu the ptin t psitin it n the sheet, the values are calculated frm the lwer left crner f the sheet. When this ptin is selected yu can add yur wn header and text that is placed after the sheet number in the line. Yu then get the values fr the psitin, vertical and hrizntal. Yu can als set a rtatin angle fr the slugline, 0 r 90. With the value 0 the slugline will be placed under the impsitin, if the value the slugline will be rtated and placed n the left side f the impsitin. Add slugline next t impsitin, this ptin will place the slugline a shrt distance utside f the impsitins trimbx. When this ptin is selected yu can add yur wn header and text that is placed after the sheet number in the line. Yu can als set a rtatin angle fr the slugline, 0 r 90. With the value 0 the slugline will be placed under the impsitin, if the value is 90 the slugline will be rtated and placed n the left side f the impsitin. Slugline ffset frm trimbx, will let yu adjust the distance f the slugline frm the trimbx. A negative value will mve the slugline clser t the trimbx. Private data There are sme metadata generated by the app that yu can reach as private data. Fr sme type f errrs the app will catch the errr messages and embed it as Private data in the jb. The Private data key is: errrtext [Jb.PrivateData:Key="errrText"] Yu can als get infrmatin n hw many sheets that yur impsitin will print in three private data entries. Private data key: Number f printed sheets [Jb.PrivateData:Key="Number f printed sheets"] will give yu the number f prints that is needed fr this jb. Private data key: Number f sheets [Jb.PrivateData:Key="Number f sheets"] is the number f paper sheets that is required fr the jb, if the ptin t Print n back is selected yu will get the crrect number f paper sheets needed fr the jb.

Private data key: Sheet size [Jb.PrivateData:Key="Sheet size"] will give yu the result 318x458 r 530x750 which can be useful fr ruting jbs. Fr example if yu want t impse the smaller sheet n the larger sheet. Preparatin f jbfiles Fr sme type f impsitins yu have t prepare the rder f pages in the PDF that is ging t be impsed. If nt, yur result might nt be as expected. Errr checking The app will d sme checking n the incming PDF file befre the app will d anything. Fllwing errrs will be reprted with jb failed and utput sent t the errr cnnectin. If the file is nt PDF If the pages in the PDF have different sizes. If the pages in the PDF have different rientatin. Sme page sizes are nt supprted. Other page sizes than A3,A4, A5, Tablid r US Letter is used fr Bklet. There is a small tlerance that is accepted frm the standard sizes. Which sizes that are allwed is als dependent n the sheet size. If a variable with the wrng value is used in ne f the drp dwn menus. Only values that exist in the drp dwn menus are accepted. If a page size is t large fr the selected impsitin type. If the slugline dn t fit n the page. If the impsitin is t wide t give space fr the clr bar. Jb failed t prcess. All these errrs will be stred as private data fr use in ther systems. The Private data key is: errrtext [Jb.PrivateData:Key="errrText"] Fllwing warnings will be reprted as infrmatin nly. Fr certain ptins like the Small cards it will nt be impsed n the large sheet. Instead yu will get the utput t the smaller sheet size. Sme special pages sizes will nt be impsed n the large sheet but will utput n the smaller sheet size. Fr sme page frmats the splitted binding is nt supprted. They will instead be impsed as nrmal Saddle stitching. Example flws An example flw is prvided with a pre-cnfigured submit pint and the app has all the variables cnnected t the metadata fields in the submit pint. This flw can be used as is r implemented in a larger flw. Just cpy and paste the elements t yur ther flw. Nte: The app must be installed befre yu imprt the flw. One example flw is prvided where yu can impse the smaller sheet n the larger sheet. Variables Nte that if yu use variables t send the prperty values t the app, the prperties that are set with drpdwn menus in the app must have the exact same values that the drpdwn menus have. If nt the jb will fail.

The settings in the fixup give yu the pssibility t place the bjects at yur chice. Add registratin marks and clrbar big sheet.kfpx See prfile abve. New impsitin scheme fr the larger sheet splitted s yu get tw impsitins n the sheet that then can be cut in half t fit yu pst prcessing. Creep can be applied t bklet impsitins. Fr the bklets yu can chse between French r standard flding. Nte that fr sme cnfiguratins French flding is nt pssible and the impsitin will be dne with standard flding.
