2 DM706M1 / DM706M2 / DM706M4 Minimux Ruters DM706M1, DM706M2 and DM706M4 are mini E1 multiplexers that enable the transprt f vice and data at speeds up t kbit/s. 1. Characteristics DM706M1 has tw E1 interfaces (G.703/G.704), ne Ethernet (10/100BaseT) ruter interface and a G.shdsl bis (G.991.2) interface perating ver 2 wire lines. DM706M2 has the same interfaces as DM706M1, with the capability f the G.shdsl interface perating ver 4 wire lines, r ver 2 wires with prtectin. DM706M4 has the same interfaces as DM706M1, with the capability f the G.shdsl interface perating ver 8 wire lines, r ver 4 (r 2) wires with prtectin. Either the G.shdsl prt r ne f the E1 prts may be used as the aggregate interface. When the G.shdsl prt is the aggregate, bth E1 prts may be used as tributaries. When ne f the E1 prts is the aggregate, the G.shdsl prt is nt used. An ptinal interface may be rdered with the prduct, t enable the transmissin f FXS vice channels (see descriptin f DM706-FXS4/8 interfaces). The 64 kbit/s timeslts may be distributed amng the E1, DSL and Ethernet tributaries, enabling, fr example, the simultaneus transmissin f a PBX s vice traffic and data frm the Ethernet interface. The G.shdsl prt may perate at speeds up t 5696 kbit/s (peratin ver 2 wires), r up t kbit/s (peratin ver 8 r 4 wires). It fllws recmmendatin G.shdsl bis (ITU-T G rev 2). Ruting functins are perfrmed n the traffic f the WAN interface which receives the E1 r DSL aggregate data. DM706Mx is a cmpact standalne unit with an internal AC/DC autmatic selectin pwer supply. The ruter interface f the unit has varius sftware functins, including: ruting, remte user authenticatin (RADIUS and TACACS), firewall security, prt and address translatin (NAT), secure cnnectins (VPN), packet tagging and priritizatin (QS). Cnfiguratin f the unit may be dne thrugh an RS-232 cnsle prt (DB9 cnnectr) n the frnt panel. The unit may als be cnfigured thrugh Telnet and SSH thrugh the physical LAN r WAN prt. Remte management f anther unit is achieved ver HDLC (via E1-A) r EOC (via DSL). The equipment may be managed by the DmView Netwrk Management Platfrm, when the DM706Mx is remte t a DM705-SUB. Different clcking mdes may be used: internal r recvered clck frm the E1 r G.shdsl prts. Internal clck is autmatically used in case f failure f the recvered clck. BERT tests can be executed thrugh the cntrl prt. The fllwing LED indicatrs are available: Pwer, Test, status f E1, DSL, FXS and ruter (SYS, WAN, ETH) interfaces. When the unit is cnfigured as an NTU, it uses the pwer status bit f the G.shdsl frame t indicate pwer failure situatins t the central site. Bit pattern definitin fr unused channels (IDLE). Rate f 2048 kbit/s, using HDB3 cding, accrding t ITU-T rec. G.703. G.703 interface impedance strap selectable between 75 r 120 hms (BNC and RJ48 cnnectrs available n the rear panel f the equipment); BERT 511 (2 9-1) test with errr insertin and detectin capability. LDL and LAL tests are available n this interface. G.shdsl bis Interface G.Shdsl bis (Single-pair High-speed Digital Subscriber Line) interface fr peratin n 2, 4 r 8 wires. Variable rates frm 64kbit/s t 11392kbps (up t 5696kbit/s per wire pair) paylad plus an 8kbit/s verhead. Typical reaches n niseless 0,4mm wire lines: 2 wires 192kbit/s 7,1km 2 wires 5696kbit/s 1,8km 4 wires 384kbit/s 7,1km 4 wires 11392kbit/s 1,8km 8 wires 768kbit/s 7,1km 8 wires 11392kbit/s 3,6km 16 r 32-level (16-TCPAM r 32-TCPAM) level cding ensuring spectral cmpatibility with ther services like ADSL and ISDN. Obtains a 15 t 20% higher reach cmpared t mdens with 2B1Q cding cnsidering the same transmissin rates. When cnsidering the same reach, this cding scheme reaches 35 t 45% higher speeds. Handshake accrding t ITU-T rec. G May be cnfigured as a central side (LTU r STU-C) r as an user (NTU r STU-R) equipment. Mdem perfrmance data like signal-t-nise rati, line attenuatin, CRC, ES SES, LOSW and UAS errr cunts accrding t G.991.2, may be presented n the terminal r management interface. DSL line backup available n DM706M2 and DM706M4. BERT 511 (2 9-1) test with errr insertin and detectin capability. LAL, LDL and LDR tests are available n this interface. 4 Ethernet Interface The Ethernet interface is 10/100BaseT, cmpatible with IEEE 802.3, supprting ruter functins. The Ruter perates at multiples f 64 kbit/s rates (n x 64 kbit/s up t the aggregate s bandwidth). Ethernet interface is presented n an RJ45 cnnectr n the frnt panel f the equipment.
