General This firmware release is a feature release based n FW Changes since last release FW are marked in blue. VIDEOJET decder 8000 uses rbust, fan-less technlgy designed fr ambitius envirnmental cnditins while prviding maximum perfrmance n minimum space in a nicely designed industrial husing. VIDEOJET decder 8000 displays vide frm Standard Definitin (SD), High Definitin (HD), 4K Ultra High Definitin (UHD), and Megapixel (MP) cameras and encders using H.264 r MPEG-4 encding at up t 60 frames per secnd ver IP netwrks. 1

Installatin ntes Firmware 9.10 must be installed prir t installatin f this firmware Due t security reasns HTTP Basic Authenticatin, which transprts passwrds as clear text, has been remved in Cnfiguratin Manager 5.5x. As Digest Authenticatin is nt supprted fr HTTP in VIDEOJET decder 8000 firmware, a firmware update using HTTP r RCP+ prtcl will nly wrk if n service passwrd is set in the decder. A firmware update using HTTPS requires a service passwrd set, and will nt wrk with empty passwrd. Future firmware upgrades using HTTPS will als wrk withut a service passwrd. 2

3 4. New Features IP Matrix Stand-alne system fr managing, cntrlling and displaying cameras using a CCTV keybard. Up t fur decders can be clustered t extend the system. Up t fur peratrs can wrk simultaneusly, using up t fur keybards KBD-UXF, each cnnected t ne decder. Up t 128 cameras can be managed by the fully extended system. Up t 32 camera sequences can be defined. Up t 8 displays can be cnnected with the fully extended system. Layuts can be switched per display. Cmplete system view can be saved and recalled, inclusive camera cnnectins, using up t 9 favrite views. Keybards can be lcked with passcde. Picture-in-picture mde has been intrduced as alternative t full-screen mde fr better awareness f else hidden vide mnitrs. Fr PTZ cameras, vide smthing is autmatically suspended t allw best pssible cntrl with minimal latency. Cnfiguratin is dne with Cnfiguratin Manager; therwise n PC is required. Cnfigurable time fr FREEZE detectin. 5. Changes The issue that a firmware update using HTTPS required a service passwrd set, and did nt wrk with empty passwrd, is fixed. Firmware upgrades using HTTPS nw als wrk withut a service passwrd set. An issue where the decder lg culd nt be verwritten is fixed. An issue with enhanced verlays is fixed. An issue where vide f an incming alarm cnnectin was jerky is fixed. Varius smaller issues were fixed. 3

4 6. Restrictins; Knwn Issues IntuiKey keybard is nt supprted. IP Matrix license, applicable fr VIP-XD and VJD-3000, is nt supprted nr required. Analgue mnitrs are nt supprted. Cnnecting encrypted streams withut prper signalling may result in crashing the sftware decder instance, resulting in black vide displayed. Alarms will nt be signaled with a red brder arund the came if cnnectin was established using CONNECT_PRIMITIVE. Using CONNECT_PRIMITIVE via TCP is nt pssible. CONNECT_PRIMITIVE des nt supprt "first available" feature. Audi may remain audible despite layut change t ther than single view. RCP+ cmmand CONF_ALARM_CONNECT_TO_IP is nt supprted. Alarm cnnectin des nt supprt audi. Maximum passwrd length is 19 characters. ONVIF 2.0 cnfrmance is nt yet prvided with this firmware release. (Earlier ONVIF specificatins d nt include decder supprt yet.) With Recnnect last devices active camera cnnectins are stred and autmatically recnnected after rebt. T avid deadlck in case f an verlad situatin the autmatic recnnect will be deactivated after the decder was frced int rebt fr ten times within 10 minutes. HD 1080p60 streams that need t be up-scaled fr display n a 4Kp60 mnitr are jerking due t an issue in Intel s HD Graphics chip. This can be avided by either nt scaling up HD streams t full view but rather use e.g. a quad layut, r running the 4K mnitr in 30 Hz. Mnitrs may be swapped after update. Swap back is pssible using Cnfiguratin Manager. IP Matrix pre-requisites fr clustering: Fixed IP addresses must be assigned; DHCP cnfiguratin is nt functinal. Passwrds fr service level must be same n all clustered decders. Passwrds fr user level must be same n all clustered decders. After remving a slave decder frm the IP Matrix master, bth decders must be restarted. 4

See updated decding perfrmance table. SSD write prtectin intrduced t avid data lss due t pwer lss r pwer cycle while/after cnfiguratin. All relevant write-affected disk sectrs are buffered in a 2GB RAM disk. Updating the firmware may nw take up t three rebts, perfrmed autmatically by the device. The physical access t the system via keybard is nw prtected by a lg-in dialg. As sn as a keybard is cnnected, a lgin message appears that can nly be clsed by entering the service passwrd r by remving the keybard. With successful lgin, standard applicatins like Cmmand Shell, Explrer, Task Manager and Cntrl Panel are autmatically started, imprving supprt in case f issue investigatin. A special functin within this dialg allws t set the unit t factry defaults by entering factryreset instead f the passwrd. New tls were intrduced t help tech supprt investigating issues. Active camera cnnectins and layut are stred and autmatically recnnected after rebt if cnfigured t. TCP cnnectins are supprted. RTSP cnnectins are supprted, enabling cnnectivity t 3 rd party and ONVIF cameras. Discvery prt is cnfigurable. Came distance is cnfigurable. VIDEOJET decder 8000 can be used as an extended mnitr t IP Matrix in single and quad view. The RCP+ cmmand CONNECT_PRIMITIVE is supprted. VIDEOJET decder 8000 is able t display VCA metadata. Cnfiguratin is made using the Cnfiguratin Manager. The number f decders presented in capabilities is cnfigurable t regulate the cnsumptin f VMS licenses. Default value is 30. System access is passwrd-prtected with tw levels. The system firmware can be upgraded remtely. Operatin is pssible with Bsch Vide Client 1.4 SR3 r higher Bsch Vide Management System r higher System API is cmpatible t predecessr VJD 7000 fr easy plug-and-play integratin. 11

12 System VIDEOJET decder 8000 is based n the latest Intel fifth generatin Cre i3 CPU. The system has a 64 GB SSD as bt medium fr perating system and applicatin. It uses a Gigabit Ethernet prt. The system runs a tailred and Bsch-branded Micrsft Windws 8.1 embedded perating system and Mnitr Wall sftware based n UHD-capable Vide SDK 6. Making use f Intel's hardware decding acceleratrs, the sftware is fine-tuned fr 4K UHD and MP vide decding supprt. VIDEOJET decder 8000 prvides tw Mini DisplayPrts, bth capable f driving up t 4K UHD mnitrs simultaneusly. The system is enclsed in a specially designed husing. It can be directly munted t the back f a mnitr, using the 100 mm (3.937 in) VESA munt ptin. Fr detailed technical specificatin please refer t the datasheet. 12
