1 Cotroller IQ4E Cotroller Descriptio The IQ 4E cotroller has 10 uiversal iputs ad 6 aalogue voltage outputs ad is expadable up to 192 poits (depedig o the cotroller variat) by addig I/O modules. This flexibility makes it suitable for a broad rage of applicatios. The IQ4E cotroller uses Etheret ad TCP/IP etworkig techologies with embedded XML ad is fully compatible with other Tred IQ cotrollers. The IQ4E supports BACet over IP as stadard. Tred commuicatios over a curret loop LAN is available as a optio. A local PC or display (e.g. IQView4) ca be coected to the RS232 port. A Wallbus port is also provided for use with room displays. System The IQ4E has commuicatio ports for Etheret, USB (Local Egieerig), RS232 (Local Supervisor) ad Wallbus. I additio /LAN variats have a Tred curret loop: I additio, the IQ4E has the ability to joi a iteretwork usig its virtual INC (see Networkig o page 4 for further details). Other devices coected to the Etheret etwork ca commuicate with the IQ4E usig IP addressig. Remote PCs ca commuicate through stadard IT etworks usig IP, eablig commuicatio from aywhere i the world. RS232 USB Etheret Wallbus Tred Curret Loop (/LAN variats oly) Note: Commuicatio with the Tred etwork by a supervisor, tool or display will require the use of a virtual CNC (vcnc) i the IQ4E or aother CNC o the etwork (see Networkig o page 4 for further details). A itegral web iterface is also accessible over a Etheret/IP coectio (see Web Pages o page 8). The IQ4E supports either static or dyamic (DHCP) IP addressig. DHCP is eabled by default. Each IQ4E has a uique MAC (Media Access Cotrol) address allocated to its Etheret ode. This ca be used to help idetify the IQ4E durig cofiguratio. Etheret O uits that do ot have the curret loop optio (or o /LAN variats that have the curret loop disabled) the IQ4E ca form a Tred LAN with other devices over the Etheret etwork. vinc Etheret LAN Iteretwork 2 Cotroller TA Issue 1, 28-Apr Applies to v3.30.

3 Curret Loop (../LAN variats oly) O uits that have the curret loop optio (which is eabled), the IQ4E will form a Tred LAN with other devices o the curret loop. BACet Commuicatios The IQ4E cotroller is desiged to be a BACet Applicatio Specific Cotroller. BACet is a ope protocol that eables the products of a umber of differet maufacturers of buildig automatio ad cotrol equipmet to commuicate with each other. It supports commuicatio usig BACet over IP (Etheret) icludig: Access to IQ4E parameters over BACet, Alarm delivery, IC comms to a BACet device. LAN (o curret loop) INC A full specificatio of the objects, properties, ad BIBBS (BACet Iteroperability Buildig Blocks) supported by the IQ4E are give i the IQ4 Protocol Implemetatio Coformace Statemet (TP201248). The mappig of the BACet properties to the Tred parameters is covered i the IQ4 Cofiguratio Maual (TE201263). XML Web Services Iteretwork Note: I this cofiguratio IQ4E caot joi a Tred LAN o Etheret. However, access by IP is still possible. I order to joi a iteretwork, a INC type device will be required elsewhere o the curret loop LAN. The curret loop may be wired i either a 2-wire or 4-wire cofiguratio. Network Bypass Relay: If the IQ4E loses power a set of bypass relays will close to maitai the itegrity of the curret loop etwork. If the relays close it will be recogised by a dowstream device, ad reported as a LAN Chaged alarm. Baud Rate: By default the IQ4E auto-detects the baud rate to use o the curret loop. Where required, the rate ca be set maually usig cofiguratio software. RS232 (Local Supervisor Port) A RS232 port is provided for the optioal coectio of local display devices, sesors or supervisory tools. Oly oe device may be coected at oe time. The coected device ca be restricted to commuicate oly with the IQ4E or (if supported by the device) with the etire Tred etwork (see Networkig o page 4). USB (Local Egieerig Port) The USB port allows coectio of a PC ruig SET (System Egieerig Tool). Whe coected i this way SET ca commuicate across the etire Tred etwork (see Networkig o page 4). Whe ot i use the coector is protected by a retaied flexible plastic plug. Wallbus The Wallbus port facilitates the coectio of room display devices (e.g. a RD-WMB series room display). These devices offer cotrol ad idicatio of parameters such as setpoit, fa speed ad occupacy, as well as sesig temperature, humidity ad CO 2 levels. The IQ4E icludes XML web services. XML is a geeral purpose specificatio for creatig custom markup laguages. It helps developers create web pages ad also provides a basic sytax that eables iformatio to be shared by differet computers ad applicatios. The IQ4E XML sytax is described i the IQ4 Cofiguratio Maual (TE200768). Iputs ad Outputs The IQ4E has 10 uiversal iputs ad 6 aalogue outputs, plus three 24 Vdc auxiliary supply output termials for powerig certai types of I/O devices. See Hardware o page 4 for further details. Cable Screeig The use of screeed cable for iput ad/or output coectios is ot geerally required uless the cable passes through electrically oisy eviromets. If screeed cable is used the scree must be coected to the local pael/eclosure groud ad left utermiated at the far ed. I/O Expasio Modules Further I/O chaels ca be added to the IQ4E by the coectio of various types of I/O expasio modules to the I/O bus. I/O modules Several IQ4E variats are available to provide support for differig umbers of I/O chaels up to a maximum of 192 (16 oboard, 176 o I/O bus) (see Order Codes o page 10). The followig I/O module rages are compatible with the IQ4E: IQ4/IO see IQ4/IO Modules (TA201341). XCITE/IO see XCITE/IO Modules (TA201352). Up to 30 modules ca be coected to the I/O bus, depedig o the module rage(s) used ad the umber of I/O chaels supported by the cotroller (as described above). 4 Networkig I order to coect to the Tred etwork the IQ4E will create its ow iteral LAN which icludes the followig odes: a CNC for its ow cotroller, a supervisor CNC (scnc1) for its RS232 port, a supervisor CNC (scnc2) for its USB port, three virtual CNCs (vcnc1, vcnc2 ad vcnc3), ad a virtual INC (vinc). Hardware Uiversal Iputs (IN1 to IN10) Each iput chael will fuctio as oe of the followig: thermistor iput, voltage iput, digital iput, or curret iput. Etheret IQ4E vinc Supervisor /Tool vcnc1 vcnc2 vcnc3 Web Browser Supervisor /Tool RS232 SET USB IQ4E cotrol CNC scnc1 scnc2 LAN The iput fuctio is set automatically by the IQ4E strategy. Thermistor iput: Used for a thermistor (NTC C (77 F), -40 to 110 C (-40 F to 230 F)), potetiometer (300 Ω to 500 kω) or fa speed cotrol. The thermistor bridge resistor is 12 kω with a bridge supply 3.3 V. Example wirig Default CNC Addressig: The IQ4E device (outstatio) address is factory-set (i the Address module) as follows: Local LAN set to 20; Local Address set o a rollig basis i the rage 11 to 119, so that i a batch of IQ4Es, each will have a differet default address (prited o the uit s serial label). scnc1 Fuctioality: If the RS232 port address is set to 0 (default), scnc1 is disabled ad a coected device ca oly commuicate with the IQ4E. If the address is cofigured to be o-zero, scnc1 is eabled with that address o the LAN ad allows a coected device to commuicate with the etire Tred etwork. scnc2 Fuctioality: Whe a PC ruig SET is coected to the USB port it uses scnc2. If the USB port address is set to 0 (default), scnc2 is dyamically created at address 125 for the duratio of the SET sessio. Whe the PC is removed scnc2 times out ad o loger exists o the etwork. If the address is cofigured to be o-zero, scnc2 remais o the etwork at all times. vcnc Fuctioality: Allows a supervisor tool/display to make a permaet coectio to the Tred etwork usig TCP/IP.. By default all three vcncs are disabled. vinc Fuctioality: Whe the IQ4E jois a LAN o Etheret, the cotroller with the lowest IP address assumes INC fuctioality (usig its vinc at address 126); ay vincs i other cotrollers o that LAN will automatically be disabled. The vinc does ot exist o a curret loop LAN. IC Comms: The IQ4E ca commuicate with other IQ cotrollers ad BACet devices usig IC Comms. Some cotrollers ruig earlier versios of firmware may ot support all IC Comms types. See Compatibility o page 9. Voltage iput: Used with a 0 to 10 Vdc source. Example wirig + S - Digital iput: Used for a volt free cotact, logic circuit (e.g. TTL, CMOS), ope collector (trasistor) or ope drai (FET). Example wirig 270 μa volt free ope collector logic circuit TTL / CMOS The volt free cotact has a omial wettig curret of 270 μa. The iput is ON whe the cotact is closed. 0V A ope collector or ope drai must be able to sik 270 μa. The iput is ON whe the trasistor or FET coducts. Correct polarity must be observed. A logic circuit must be able to sik 270 μa. The iput will be ON whe the voltage preset o the iput termial is less tha 2 Vdc (miimum 0 V). A voltage greater tha 3.5 Vdc (maximum 50 Vdc) or ope circuit will tur the iput OFF. 5 Curret iput: Used for 0 to 20 ma sources which ca be exterally powered or loop powered (from the Auxiliary Supply Output, i.e. oe of the AUX termials). Combied Supply The IQ4E s combied supply provides power for the: Example wirig Exterally powered S Exteral Power Supply Loop powered S Aalogue outputs, Auxiliary supply termials, Wallbus, RS232 port, USB port, ad I/O Bus supply. If the total power requiremet of the combied supply is more tha the cotroller ca supply it will be ecessary to power some to the items usig exteral power sources. 24V AUX Aalogue Outputs (OUT11 to OUT16) These provide a variable cotrol voltage betwee 0 ad 10 Vdc. The output ca source up to 20 ma (see Combied Supply ) ad sik up to 3 ma. Example wirig For further details o calculatig the available curret from the combied supply, see the IQ4 Cofiguratio Maual (TE201263). Eclosure The IQ4E is housed i a polycarboate case. Itegral sprig clips o the back of the case eable the uit to be clipped o to (ad quickly released from) a stadard TS35 DIN rail. The IQ4E must be istalled i a secodary eclosure with a miimum protective ratig of IP20 (or equivalet). The uit may be mouted horizotally or vertically but ot upside dow or o its back: IQ4E LOAD 0 to 10 Vdc 00VV Auxiliary Supply Output IQ4E IQ4E DIN rail ed stop IQ4E This output ca be used to supply I/O devices (e.g. sesors). It provides 24 Vdc ±5% from AUX termials 70, 71 ad 72, with a retur through termial 73 or ay C termial. The maximum available curret is iterally limited as follows: Auxiliary Output (AUX) Termials ma shared 120 ma The available curret also depeds o other curret demads (see Combied Supply ). Rotatig clear polycarboate covers provide access for the power, commuicatios ad I/O coectios. Iput Power Supply The IQ4E requires a 230 Vac ±10%, 50/60 Hz supply The iput power earth (groud) termial is isolated from the iput power eutral, ad must be separately earthed (grouded) locally; this groud termial is iterally coected to the IQ4E electroics earth (groud). The 230 V supply must iclude a dedicated 5 A fuse complyig with IEC60269 (BS1362) ad a suitably rated switch i close proximity ad be clearly marked as the discoectig device for the uit. 6 Service Butto Ca be used to geerate a etwork message which idetifies the IQ4E by meas of its uique serial umber to system tools, e.g. to fid the IQ4E s device address ad LAN umber. It ca also be used to reset the IQ4E to its factory default coditio; for further details see the IQ4 Cofiguratio Maual (TE201263). Chages to the address module are stored immediately. Other chages are geerally stored aroud midight, i additio structural chages (e.g. module itercoectios) are stored 15 s after the last chage, ad critical data chages (e.g strategy values), are stored o power failure or other similar fault coditios. The tools (e.g. SET) will sed a archive istructio after parameter chages causig immediate storage of chages. A supercap is used to maitai the real time clock (time ad date). I the evet of power failure this will support the clock for 8 days (typically). Note: Operatio at elevated temperature or high humidity levels will reduce the lifetime of the supercap. Exteded operatio i these coditios may permaetly reduce the capacity of this compoet ad result i a reductio i the umber of days that the cotroller ca successfully backup the time ad date. Labels A small two part label is attached to the uit which displays the uit s serial umber ad MAC address (i both text ad barcode format). Space is provided o the label for recordig the uit s device (outstatio) address, LAN umber ad IP address (if DHCP is ot beig used). It has a tear-off self-adhesive label strip that also cotais the serial umber ad MAC address (text ad barcode) which ca be adhered to a paper record, e.g. a buildig pla or log book. A secod large adhesive label is also supplied which cotais the uit s serial umber i text ad barcode formats. This is iteded to be mouted o the outside of the equipmet cabiet or eclosure cotaiig the IQ4E. If the uit is located i a difficult-to-reach locatio, this label ca be scaed from a distace usig a suitable barcode scaer. The barcodes o both labels coform to the code 128 auto format. 7 Firmware The firmware i the IQ4E cotrols its basic fuctioality ad provides a rage of modules that ca be cofigured to produce a cotrol strategy. Modules The rage of modules provided i the IQ4E firmware are listed i the table below. Full details of each module ca be foud i the IQ4 Cofiguratio Maual (TE201263). The largest size is show here. The Time Zoe module briq cout give here allows for 20 exceptios. Further exceptios requires 13 briqs each. These modules are always preset i the IQ4E. Additioal 5 briqs required per iput ad output. The quatity of each type of module may be adjusted to match the requiremets of the applicatio subject to the followig: The total available memory capacity varies with the umber of supported I/O chaels: umber of I/O chaels maximum briqs available 16 30, , , , , , ,000 Plot Modules The IQ4E s Plot modules ca plot ay coectable module output (aalogue or digital). There are four types of Plot module: sychroised, triggered, periodic ad COV. Although all three types are BACet iteroperable, oly periodic plots ca be compliat with the BACet stadard. All Plot modules ca geerate a buffer ready alarm whe the umber of records equals a otificatio threshold. The maximum umber of records per plot is The maximum total umber of records (for all plots) depeds o the plot memory available ad the type of plots used - each sychroised plot record requires 5 log poits, while each triggered or periodic plot record requires 10 log poits: umber of I/O chaels maximum plot memory (log poits) max. umber of records sychroised plots triggered or periodic plots 16 1,000, , , ,000, , , ,000, , , ,000, , , ,000, , , ,250, , , ,500, , ,000 Note: A maximum of 100 plots ca be serviced i a 1 s period (e.g. 100 x 1 s plots oly). This is calculated o the average plots serviced i 1 s, so a 1 miute plot would cotribute a 1/60. For example 90 x 1 s plots plus 360 x 1 mi would give 96 (90+6) plots per secod o average. The periodic ad triggered plots must also be couted ad it s up to the egieer to make his best estimate. Sequece Table Module The maximum umber of steps i the sequece table varies with the umber of supported I/O chaels: umber of I/O chaels maximum sequece steps Firmware Upgrades A maximum of 4000 modules i total, A maximum for each type of module, ad The IQ4E s memory capacity (measured i briqs ). New versios of firmware may be made available from time to time to chage or add fuctioality or to provide support for ew products. The maximum umber of modules for each type, ad the umber of briqs required per module are show i the table above. Firmware ca be upgraded usig a PC ruig the IQTool Firmware Upgrade Applet, ad to the IQ4E coected over Etheret (recommeded for speed) or the Tred curret loop. 8 Timemaster The IQ4E ca act as a system Timemaster to sychroise the time ad date across the Tred system. It ca use SNTP (simple etwork time protocol) to obtai precisio curret time from a uautheticated NTP server o the Iteret. Daylight savig ca be implemeted automatically (via timezoe settig) or maually by specifi ed dates ad time adjustmet. The web iterface does ot allow the strategy structure to be modifi ed (e.g. chagig module itercoectios, addig or deletig modules). Graphical display pages (GraphIQs), which are cofi gured usig IQ4E s display ad directory modules, ca also be accessed. alarms The IQ4E will geerate Network, Geeral, ad Item alarms. Network alarms are geerated by the Tred Network odes, Geeral alarms are geerated whe the IQ4E detects a problem withi its ow hardware or program, ad Item alarms are geerated by the strategy, ad are ormally due to a faulty plat coditio. Network alarms are set to supervisors or tools coected to the RS232 local supervisor port, USB local egieerig port, or to oe of the cotroller s vcncs. Geeral ad Item alarms ca be set either to a desigated Tred LAN address, to a IP address, or as a . Alteratively, certai Item alarms (sesor, digital iput, digital driver readback, ad plot), ca be set to a BACet device. Alarms set to a Tred LAN address, or to a IP address ca either be set i text, coded, or attribute format. Network alarms are set i text format oly. For coded alarms the protocol limits the item umber to 255 maximum. For text alarms the maximum item label legth is 20 characters (although the 963 ca be set up to use labels previously leart). Sedig a alarm by requires the Server Address to be set up i the address module. The Server Address ca be a IP address, a iteret domai ame, or a host ame; the iteret domai ame or host ame require a DNS server address or a WINS server address respectively to be set up i the etwork module so that the ame ca be resolved. All alarms (except Network alarms) are also stored locally i the Alarm Log. The alarm log ca record up to 300 alarms. Oce this limit is reached each ew alarm will overwrite the oldest record. Web Pages A itegral web iterface ca be accessed over a Etheret/IP coectio usig a Web browser o a PC, tablet or smartphoe. Access ca be restricted by etry of a valid user ame ad password. Oce coectio to the cotroller has bee made, it is possible to view ad adjust occupatio times, view the alarm log, ad view/adjust/graph idividual module parameters. Laguage The user ca specify which laguage the IQ4E uses for the display of web pages ad for trasmitted alarms. The stadard laguages are i the cotroller as supplied. I the cotroller the Address module has a laguage parameter which will be set to the default laguage, but ca be chaged to ay oe of the other available laguages. The IQ4E ca use laguages which require 8 bit code (i.e. special or acceted characters) ad ca also operate with right to left laguages (e.g. Chiese, Arabic). Idetificatio The IQ4E will idetify itself as a IQ4 to w comms. STRaTEGy I order to operate as a cotroller, the modules provided by the fi rmware must be cofi gured to defi e the way the cotroller is to cotrol the coected equipmet. This cofi guratio is kow as the strategy. Strategies are cofi gured usig the System Egieerig Tool (SET). This produces a strategy fi le (fi leame.iq4) that ca be dowloaded to the cotroller to defi e its operatio. This fi le cosists of all the strategy module istaces, their parameters, ad liks. Whe this is dowloaded it is stored i the cotroller ad the ru usig the cotroller fi rmware. 9 Field Maiteace The IQ4E requires o routie maiteace.! WARNING: Cotais o serviceable parts. Do ot attempt to ope the uit. Failure to comply may cause damage to the uit. DISPOSAL COSHH (Cotrol of Substaces Hazardous to Health - UK Govermet Regulatios 2002) ASSESSMENT FOR DISPOSAL OF IQ4E. RECYCLING. All plastic ad metal parts are recyclable. The prited circuit board may be set to ay PCB recovery cotractor to recover some of the compoets for ay metals such as gold ad silver. WEEE Directive: At the ed of their useful life the packagig, ad product should be disposed of by a suitable recyclig cetre. Do ot dispose of with ormal household waste. Do ot bur. Compatibility Browsers: This device has bee successfully tested with Iteret Explorer (v10 & 11), Chrome (v ), Mozilla Firefox (v23), Safari (v5.1.7) ad with the default browser o the followig device operatig systems: Apple ios Adroid 5.0 Lollipop Widows Phoe 8.1 It should work with all moder browsers, smart phoes, ad tablets (with JavaScript eabled) available at the date of release of this product. Owig to the rapidly chagig ature of web devices, ew devices ad browsers will become available after the release of this product.
