This kit converts ll 33/35A nd 98/99 series EL devices nd fire devices uilt prior to Oct to quiet electric ltch (QEL) retrction devices. 2. Instll ccording to instructions or device will not function nd pnic or fire lel will e void. 3. The QEL wiring must e ttched to the fire lrm system if instlled on fire exit hrdwre. Prts Tools Required ⁵ ₈" Drill Bit QEL Bseplte w/o Dogging (replces EL Bseplte nd Fire Bseplte) QEL Bseplte with Dogging (replces EL-HD Bseplte) WARNING If existing exit device is fire rted, do not instll HD-QEL (hex dogging) seplte. Doing so will void fire rting.

2 1 Disconnect Power To void risk of shock, disconnect AC power from power supply efore proceeding with this conversion. If using Bttery Bckup option, unplug ll four wires from ttery terminls. 4 Remove Old Bseplte Assemly 4 Remove Mechnism Cse 33/35 2 Detch Verticl Rods if present Refer to device instructions s needed. 3 Remove Exit Device from Door Keep ll prts d c! Depress pushr nd mke sure ltch olt retrcts nd extends fully (see Figure 1). 3. If two point ltch, ottom ltch should e secure s well. 4. If device does not function s descried in steps 2 nd 3, djustments my e required per the device instlltion instructions. Any HD Device 1. Fully depress pushr. 2. Insert hex dogging key nd turn clockwise. 3. Relese pushr nd verify ltcholt remins retrcted. 4. Fully depress pushr. 5. Insert hex dogging key nd turn counter clockwise. 6. Relese pushr nd verify ltcholt extends fully.
