Wht You Will eed to o the Jo Becuse some of the components of the copier re ulky, you will need or 3 people to lift them. See the descriptions tht follow for detils, symol like this is used: note out fixings: When initilly ssemling the copier stnd do not fully tighten the screws; you will e sked to do this lter. 1 3 ttch the feet to the left nd right legs using Mx30 screws ( for ech foot), tighten the screws with the llen key found in the ssemly kit. Secure the legs y fstening the cross r with M screws ( ech side). y the legs down into the position shown. 5 ttch the ottom r to the leg using M screws. ttch the ottom r to the other leg using M screws. Rise the legs crefully into the upright position. 1

Connect the rer tle: this is fitted y locting the guide pins on the rer of the tle into the ruer frmed holes on the top r. 11 ke cre when tightening s this 1 item cn slip. Front pnel rm ttch the front pnel rm y sliding the rm's ighten () mount onto the top r, ligning the holes, nd fixing lightly with M5 screws. ift the front pnel rm nd tighten the finger screws. ighten the M5 screws firmly ift the scnner into plce, locting the ruer feet in the holes indicted, nd fixing with the slotted specil screws. rrow shelf Rest the front pnel onto the nrrow shelf nd ttch with M screws where shown. ttch with 3 more M screws s shown Clening the Scn re... You re now required to clen the scn re, to do so you will need the clening tools provided in the mintennce kit nd clening fluid (not included in the mintennce kit). Slide the ssemled printer under the designjet copier. he printer's stnd feet will e positioned on the outer sides of the copier's. he unit is now ssemled nd should pper like the ove illustrtion. Cution: do not use rsives, cetone, enzene or fluids tht contin these chemicls. o not spry liquids directly onto the scnner glss plte or nywhere else in the scnner O RM O R M MRO Open the scnner cover to expose the scn re. Position your fingers in the lock slots ( t ech end of the plten indicted y the green rrows ove), nd press down (lue rrows). With the plten pushed down, slide the locks inwrds until the pins t either end pop up locking the plten open nd redy to e removed.

Clen the glss with lint-free cloth nd mild, strek-free, glss clener. ry the glss fully using seprte clen, dry lint-free cloth like the one provided with the mintennce kit. 5 urn the pressure plten over to expose the white ckground plte. Clen the white ckground plte with lintfree cloth nd mild, strek-free, glss clener. Clen the trnsport rollers nd surrounding re ry the white ckground plte, rollers nd surrounding re fully using seprte clen, dry lint-free cloth. Replce the pressure plten nd lower the two hndles. Pushing downwrds on the left side of the pressure plten; push in the pin () nd slide in the lock () locking the plten end into plce Keep out dust nd reduce mintennce time... Cover your scnner with the plstic dust cover when not in use. Pushing downwrds on the right side of the pressure plten; push in the pin () nd slide in the lock () locking the plten end into plce. With the plten firmly locked into plce; close the scnner cover. Cution: mke sure the scnner power is OFF when using the scnner dust cover Peel wy the protective pper from the front pnel stylus () nd stick to the side of the front pnel where shown (). Connect the front pnel to the scnner using the shorter USB cle nd fstening with the clips where shown (the clips re on the inside of the rm). 3 Connect power cle to the front pnel nd power outlet.

4 Connect the other power cle to the scnner. Connect the scnner's power cle to power outlet. If not done so lredy, connect the printer to power outlet nd switch it on Slck Cmer lignment & clirtion... (Height lignment, stitching, sic clirtion nd color clirtion) You re now required to clirte the scnner, for this you will need the scnner mintennce sheet, found in the protective folder shown elow. Connect the front pnel to the printer using the longer USB cle nd fstening with the clips where shown (you must lift the rer tle to ccess some of the clips). djust the USB cle to leve enough slck to e le to pull out the printer when chnging pper. Redy sttus light 0 1 ote: if on switching on the front pnel 'not present' messge ppers, plese press the 'Rescn' option on the front pnel. Switch on the scnner nd leve it to wrm up for some minutes until the green (redy sttus) light ppers. When the green (redy sttus) light hs ppered, switch on the front pnel. 1 Importnt: mke sure tht the copier is turned on for t lest one hour prior to moving on to the next step of cmer lignment clirtion. Slight light intensity chnges nd cmer shifting cn occur just fter turning the scnner on nd wrm-up time will ensure tht light conditions nd cmer heights hve stilized. 1 hour o strt the mintennce procedure: ) on the front pnel menu press the setup t ) press the scnner utton c) press the scnner mintennce utton (shown ove). 3 he mintennce wizrd will sk you to insert the mintennce sheet. he sheet's printed side must e fce down. Feed the pper in ligning the two midpoint rrows. Press 'ext' to continue. ow follow the instructions tht pper on the front pnel. 5 When clirtion completes the mintennce process; remove the scnner mintennce sheet nd return it to its protective cover. Store the folder in dry plce wy from light. ote: Your copier is now redy for use, plese mke sure tht the printer is loded with medi nd inks redy for use. When System dministrtors configure your system in network domin, they will lso need to setup utomtic login. his procedure is documented in 'how do I setup utomtic login' in your online help.
