5 About this documet This guide describes how to istall ad cofigure BAAN IVc3 o a Microsoft Widows NT platform. It also describes how to istall ad customize IBM DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 for BAAN IV. Although the SafariNT ad Safari ReportWriter packages are icluded i this release, this guide does ot cotai a descriptio of the istallatio ad cofiguratio of these products. For a descriptio of the istallatio ad cofiguratio of the Safari products, please refer to the relevat istallatio guides. This guide is iteded for BAAN IV istallers ad system admiistrators. The reader is assumed to be familiar with the system admiistratio of Microsoft Widows NT systems. The guide is divided ito two chapters ad oe appedix. Chapter 1 describes the prerequisites for the istallatio of DB2 UDB versio 5.2 ad lists the activities to be performed to istall the DB2 UDB software. Chapter 2 describes how to istall the BAAN IV software. Appedix A describes how to istall ad cofigure the database for BAAN maually. iii

7 1 To istall ad cofigure IBM DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 This chapter describes: The hardware ad software requiremets How to istall IBM DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 How to test the istallatio How to istall IBM DB2 Uiversal Database FixPacks How to cofigure the DB2 UDB istace maager for the BAAN database Hardware ad software requiremets To istall DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 o your BAAN IV server, you eed the followig hardware ad software: At least 64 MB of mai memory (RAM). At least 64 MB of pagig space (virtual memory). A Itel based system. Microsoft Widows NT Server Versio 4.0 must be istalled ad cofigured. Refer to the Widows NT Istallatio Guide for more iformatio about settig up your Widows NT server. Service Pack 4 for NT must be istalled. At least 145 MB of disk space for the DB2 UDB software. A CD-ROM drive. A etwork adapter supported by Widows NT. To create user ames for DB2 istallatio ad operatio You eed to have a user ame that will be used to istall DB2. The user ame must belog to the Admiistrators group, ad must also be a valid DB2 user ame or have the Act as part of the operatig system advaced user right. A valid DB2 user ame is eight characters or less. If this user ame does ot comply with DB2 s amig rules, but has the Act as part of the operatig system advaced user right, the setup program will create the user ame DB2ADMIN to perform the istallatio. This user ame will be removed from the system whe the istallatio is complete, uless it is used by the admiistratio server. 1-1

8 To istall ad cofigure IBM DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 Durig istallatio, you will be asked to provide a user ame ad a password that will be used by the admiistratio server to log o to the system ad to start itself as a service. By default, the setup program will fill the User Name, Password, ad Cofirm Password fields with db2admi. You ca accept these default values, or provide your ow. If you provide your ow user ame, you must esure that it is eight characters or less ad complies with DB2 s amig rules. The user ame specified for the admiistratio server will be created by the setup program if it does ot exist. If it does exist, the setup program will: Verify that the user ame is a member of the admiistrators group. Verify that the password is valid; provided that the user ame used to istall DB2 has the Act as part of the operatig system advaced user right. If you use the default user ame db2admi, ad did ot chage the default password for this user ame, you must chage this password immediately followig the istallatio. Whe the setup program creates the db2admi user ame, it also makes it a member of the admiistrators group. Sice its password is well kow, you must do the followig: 1 Chage the password for db2admi, by usig the user maager fuctio of Admiistratio Tools. 2 Chage the password for the DB2-DB2DAS00 service to match the ew password that you specified for the db2admi user ame. NOTE: To istall IBM DB2 Uiversal Database To istall the IBM DB2 Uiversal Database software, perform the followig steps. Be sure to have DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 for Widows NT Operatig Eviromet ad FixPack 7 (PTF WR9084). You must istall the FixPack after the istallatio of DB2 UDB 5.2, as described i the sectio To istall DB2 Uiversal Database FixPack, later i this chapter. Note that without FixPack 7, the BAAN IV istallatio will ot work. To perform the istallatio To istall the DB2 server o a Widows NT workstatio: 1 Log o as a user that meets the requiremets to istall DB2. 1-2

9 To istall ad cofigure IBM DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 NOTE 2 Shut dow ay other programs so that the setup program ca update files as required. 3 Isert the CD-ROM ito the drive. The autoru feature automatically starts the setup program. The setup program will determie the system laguage, ad lauch the setup program for that laguage. If you wat to ru the setup program maually or i a differet laguage, do the followig: Click Start ad select Ru. I the ope field eter: X:\setup /i=language Where X: represets your CD-ROM drive LANGUAGE represets the two-character coutry code for your laguage (for example, EN for Eglish). Click OK. 4 The Welcome widow opes. Click Next to ope the Select Products dialog box, as show below. Select DB2 Uiversal Database Eterprise Editio ad click Next. Figure 1, Select the Products 1-3

The Typical istallatio type istalls those DB2 compoets that are used most ofte, icludig all required compoets, ODBC support, documetatio, ad commoly used DB2 tools such as the iformatio ceter, the cliet cofiguratio assistat, ad the cotrol ceter. The DB2 istace ad the admiistratio server are created ad customized to use the protocols detected o your system. Figure 2, Select the istallatio type 1-4

Ivoke olie Help by clickig Help at ay time. If a DB2 Versio 5 product is already istalled o the workstatio, you must istall the product o the same drive ad i the same directory. You ca click Cacel at ay time to ed the istallatio. Figure 3, Select the destiatio directory 1-5

12 To istall ad cofigure IBM DB2 Uiversal Database versio After you istall the product, you must reboot your workstatio before you ca begi to use it. Select the reboot optio ad click Fiish. Figure 4, Complete setup NOTE This completes the istallatio. Whe your system restarts, log o with a user ame that belogs to the admiistrators group ad meets DB2 s amig rules. The DB2 First Steps tool is carried out automatically (oly after the first reboot whe the istallatio is completed). Use First Steps to create the sample database. First Steps ca be ivoked at ay time by clickig Start ad choosig Programs, DB2 for Widows NT, ad the First Steps. For iformatio o errors ecoutered durig product istallatio, see the db2.log file. The db2.log file stores geeral iformatio ad error messages resultig from istallatio ad uistall activities. By default, the db2.log is located i the x:\db2log directory; where x: is the drive o which your operatig system is istalled. 1-6

13 To istall ad cofigure IBM DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 NOTE The istallatio program has: Created DB2 program groups ad items (or shortcuts). Registered a security service. Updated the Widows registry. Created a default istace amed DB2, added it as a service, ad cofigured it for commuicatios. If you selected to automatically start the DB2 istace at boot time, the service s startup type was set to Automatic; otherwise, it was set to Maual. Created the DB2 Admiistratio Server, added it as a service, ad cofigured it so that DB2 tools ca admiister the server. The service s start type was set to Automatic. Activated First Steps followig the first boot after istallatio. Added the cotrol ceter to the Startup meu. If you do ot wat it to start automatically, you ca remove it. If you used the default user ame db2admi, remember to chage the default password for this user ame. You must chage this password immediately followig the istallatio. 1-7

14 To istall ad cofigure IBM DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 To verify the istallatio You ca verify that DB2 is istalled correctly by creatig the DB2 sample database o your system, ad accessig data from it. 1 Log o to the Widows NT system with a valid user ID that has System Admiistrative (SYSADM) authority. 2 Create the sample database usig oe of the followig methods: Use the First Steps utility. From the Widows taskbar choose: Start, Programs, DB2 for Widows NT, followed by First Steps. Click Create Sample Database. Figure 5, First Steps Issue the db2sampl commad from the Commad widow. To ope a Commad widow, from the Widows taskbar choose: Start, Programs, DB2 for Widows NT, followed by Commad Widows. 3 Oce the database is created, click View the Sample Database o the mai pael of First Steps to select data from the sample database. This starts the commad ceter, allowig you to use the supplied script that shows some of the data from the database. Click o the Execute ico to begi the query. 1-8

This allows you to see the tables that are i the sample database ad eables you to perform actios o them. After you have verified the istallatio, you ca remove the sample database to free up disk space. Issue the Drop Database Sample commad from the commad lie processor to remove the sample database. To istall DB2 Uiversal Database FixPack DB2 FixPack ca be directly dowloaded from DB2 s Service ad Support Web page ( or ca be ordered from IBM support. To istall the DB2 Uiversal Database FixPack 7 (PTF WR09084 for Widows NT) software, take the followig steps after verifyig that all the software requiremets for this FixPack have bee met ad after esurig that your curret DB2 istalled versio is versio Isert the DB2 Uiversal Database FixPack distributio CD-ROM ito the drive ad log o as a user with admiistrator rights. If dowloaded from the Web, uzip the file i a temporary directory o the hard drive. 2 Choose Ru from the Start meu ad eter the followig commad i the Commad Lie box. drive:\setup 1-9

Widows NT Server 4.0 (Service Pack 4) or higher must be istalled ad ruig. The database maagemet system IBM DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 must be istalled ad ruig as described i Chapter 1. Be sure to have IBM DB2 Uiversal Database versio 5.2 (icludig DB2 FixPack 7 or later). Without the DB2 FixPack7, the istallatio will fail. The database server must cotai 2 GB of free disk space to accommodate the database data files for BAAN IV database: a fully-loaded database eeds 2,500 MB for the tables ad idexes ad 200 MB for the log files. Although 1.5 GB will be eough for the iitial istallatio, this will leave you hardly ay additioal space for ew data (for example, ew data that is created durig a test). The BAAN IV applicatio server must cotai 600 MB of free disk space to accommodate the BAAN IV software (icludig demo compaies). BAAN IV requires at least 8 MB of mai memory (RAM) per user. The etwork software must be istalled ad ruig. 2-1

18 To istall BAAN IV for DB2 Uiversal Database NOTE NOTE CAUTION For performace reasos you are recommeded to spread the data, idexes, ad log files across differet disks. For more iformatio about the disk cofiguratio, refer to the sectio Geeric disk cofiguratio rule for database istallatio uder Widows NT i Chapter 4 i the BAAN IV Admiistratio Guide for Microsoft Widows NT. Because the BAAN IV services are started durig the istallatio of BAAN IV BackOffice, a etwork iterface card must be istalled i your system before you istall BAAN IV. Although the etwork iterface card eed ot be coected to the etwork, the BAAN IV etwork-related services will ot start if o etwork iterface card is detected. Although BAAN IV ca be istalled o both a NTFS ad a FAT file system, you are strogly recommeded to istall the BAAN IV software o a NTFS file system. If you use a drive formatted as a FAT file system, the allocatio uits are 32 KB, because FAT is ot able to hadle the umber of allocatio uits eeded to reduce the size to 16 KB or less. This meas that each file cosumes at least 32 KB, resultig i a waste of disk space. If you use a FAT file system, you risk fillig the disk log before you would expect. The NTFS file system allows you to format a disk with 1 KB allocatio uits (or eve 512 bytes), resultig i a ecoomic usage of the disk space. You are advised to use allocatio uits of 1 KB. To add the Widows NT user baa NOTE NOTE To add the Widows NT user baa, complete the followig steps: 1 Log o as a user with admiistrator rights. You must log o to the local server. 2 Go to Start, Programs, Admiistrative Tools (Commo), followed by User Maager for Domais. Make user baa a member of the users ad admiistrators groups ad DB2 admiistrator s group by clickig Groups. The user baa must iitially be created with password baa. After successfully completig the Baa IV istallatio, you ca chage this password. 2-2

19 To istall BAAN IV for DB2 Uiversal Database The Widows NT user baa must meet the followig coditios: It must have password baa durig the istallatio of BAAN. It must belog to the DB2 system admiistratio authority group. You ca add the user baa to the DB2 admiistrator s group by issuig a DB2 commad from the Commad Lie Processor box: update dbm cfg usig sysadm_group db2adm where db2adm is the ame of the group with system admiistratio privileges. 3 From the cotrol ceter, go to the the Istace Cofiguratio box to defie the DB2 admiistratio group. 20 To istall BAAN IV for DB2 Uiversal Database 4 Eter the ame of the admiistratio group i this widow. This group must be a existig Widows NT group. Figure 7, Istace cofiguratio, admiistratio Oce the istallatio of BAAN is completed, chage the password of user baa to prevet security leaks. You must chage the password for user baa by carryig out the Maitai Database Users (ttdba0115m000) sessio i the DBA module of BAAN. Do ot chage the password by usig the Widows NT User Maager for Domais. To istall BAAN IV To istall BAAN IV, complete the followig steps: Multiple BAAN istallatios or eviromets per Widows NT system are supported i this release. The Widows NT user baa must have the password baa durig the Baa istallatio procedure. Oce you have completed the BAAN istallatio, chage the password of user baa to prevet security problems. You must chage the password for user baa by carryig out the Maitai Database Users (ttdba0115m000) sessio i BAAN s DBA module. Do ot chage the password by usig the Widows NT User Maager for Domais. 1 Log o as user baa. 2 Close all ruig applicatios. 2-4

21 To istall BAAN IV for DB2 Uiversal Database 3 Isert the BAAN distributio CD-ROM i its device. The system automatically displays the Welcome scree. If you eed to perform a maual lauch of the BAAN istallatio program, perform the followig: O a Itel platform, choose setup.exe i the I386 subdirectory of the Baa istallatio CD-ROM. O a DEC Alpha platform, choose setup.exe i the Alpha subdirectory of the BAAN istallatio CD-ROM. 4 Click Next. The system displays the Software Licese Agreemet scree. 5 Click Yes to accept the licese agreemet. The system displays the Select Eviromet scree. 6 Select Istall New Eviromet, eter Baa4, ad click Next. Figure 8, Select a eviromet 2-5

22 To istall BAAN IV for DB2 Uiversal Database 7 Choose a destiatio directory ad click Next. You ca accept the default path or eter aother path (ot a root directory) by clickig the Browse butto. If the target directory does ot exist, you are asked if you wat to create it. Do ot eter a etwork drive as the target locatio of the BAAN IV files. Figure 10, Setup types You ca select the followig server type optios: User Iterface (This type is a BAAN IV Widows NT cliet.) User Iterface ad Logic (This type is referred to as the FAT cliet.) Full (icludig applicatio files ad database) This type is the complete BAAN IV Widows NT server versio. 9 Select optio three (Full) ad click Next. 2-7

The Eter Password for Default BAAN User Baa dialog box is displayed. If a error related to the db2adm.dll file is displayed, verify the followig coditios: The istallatio of the DB2 software is correct ad the db2qist.dll file exists o your path. 2-8

The ame of the group must be eight characters or less ad there must ot be aother NT user with that ame. The correspodig Widows NT group will be created if it does ot already exist. 27 To istall BAAN IV for DB2 Uiversal Database 14 The Database Defiitio Optios dialog box is displayed. Figure 14, Database optios Select a disk drive where that database will be created. The default extet size of 32 (4K pages), must be chaged to 16 if there are cocers about availability of disk space for data ad idexes. By default the database is the created. It will use the same tablespace for both data ad idexes, USERSPACE1. This tablespace is created of System- Maaged Space (SMS) type with the default values. A SMS tablespace is cosidered of low maiteace because the space is cotrolled by the operatig systems. SMS tablespaces are easy to create ad maaged because the space allocated grows dyamically as eeded. Data ad idexes must be stored i the same tablespace. If you use Database-Maaged Space (DMS) tablespaces, you ca create separate spaces for data ad idexes ad you ca backup, restore, ad tue the performace of each space separately. The space is always preallocated ad additioal space ca be added as the data grows. For additioal details about tablespaces ad other database objects, see the IBM DB2 Uiversal Database Admiistratio maual, Gettig Started. 2-11

28 To istall BAAN IV for DB2 Uiversal Database NOTE Oly the drive letter is recogized whe you eter the database drive. This meas that etries such as D, D:, D:\ will have the same result. If o driver letter is specified, the database is created o the default database drive i DB2. 15 Click Alter Defiitio for the Data Tablespace to chage some of the DB2 default values. Figure 15, Defie the tablespace NOTE DB2 will use the USERSPACE1 tablespace as the data space. Therefore, the ame caot be chaged. If disk space availability is a cocer, select a smaller extet size (8 or 16) for the tablespace. The prefetch size must be a multiple of the extet size. The default value of 32 or 64 must be used. Extet ad prefetch sizes are always measured i 4 KB pages. 2-12

29 To istall BAAN IV for DB2 Uiversal Database 16 Click Create as DMS to access the Defie Tablespace Cotaiers dialog box. Figure 16, Defie cotaiers NOTE NOTE Select oe or more cotaiers (files or raw devices) ad specify their size i 4K pages. Click Drop Cotaier to remove / correct your etries. 17 Click OK to cotiue. This will retur you to the Database Optios dialog. From this poit you ca modify more optios, or cotiue by clickig Next. 18 You ca alter the idex tablespace i the same maer as the data tablespace above. The differece is that uless a defiitio is give for the tablespace, the istallatio will ot create oe. Therefore, the tablespace ame ca be chaged. The default is INDEX1. If you wat to use a separate tablespace for idexes, the both the data tablespace ad the idex tablespace must be created as DMS, because DB2 oly allows data ad idexes to reside i separate tablespaces if they are DMS. 19 Oce you have completed choosig all database optios, click Next to cotiue. The Folder Selectio dialog box is displayed. Eter the Program folder for BAAN IV (the default folder ame is BaaIV). 20 Click Next to cotiue. The Check Setup Iformatio dialog box is displayed, showig the setup selectios you made i the previous steps. Accept the selectios by clickig Next. If you wat to chage oe or more of the selected settigs, you ca do so by clickig Back. 2-13

30 To istall BAAN IV for DB2 Uiversal Database NOTE 21 After the Baa database has bee created ad the software has bee istalled, a message is displayed iformig you that the tables ad data are imported. This will take a while. After the import has bee completed, a message is displayed, iformig you that the setup is completed. Click OK. If the database import fails or crashes, you ca perform a maual import of the database by carryig out the followig steps from a Widows NT Commad Prompt widow: 1 Set the BSE eviromet variable to your istallatio directory: set BSE=D:\baa4c4 2 Verify which database tables were ot created durig the istallatio by lookig at the log file located i: %BSE%\log\errors.txt 3 Carry out BAAN s import utility (bdbpost). bdbpost f k I drive:\prefiles\comp000.pre table_patter 4 After all the data has bee imported, ru the Patch Object for 30 Days (NT oly) (ttiexpatch) sessio. To tue the IBM DB2 Uiversal Database cofiguratio for BAAN IV BackOffice You are advised to recofigure IBM DB2 Uiversal Database after the istallatio of BAAN IV BackOffice to modify the default database ad database maager cofiguratio parameters. You ca chage the database cofiguratio parameters by usig oe of the followig methods: DB2 cotrol ceter tool, Performace tuig Smart Guide DB2 commads issued from the operatig system prompt Verify that both the DB2 ad DB2 admiistratio server are ruig by ivokig from the Widows NT taskbar Start, Settigs, Cotrol Pael, ad ope the Services widow. Both DB2 ad DB2DAS00 services must be listed with Started status. 2-14

31 To istall BAAN IV for DB2 Uiversal Database Suggested cofiguratio parameter values: Database cofiguratio Database heap size dbheap >= 1500 Log buffer size logbufsz 32 to 128 Catalog cache size catalogcache_sz 64 to 256 Maximum storage for lock list locklist > 500 Log file size logfilsiz 1024 to 4096 Locatio of the log files ewlogpath directory_path To modify the database cofiguratio usig the DB2 cotrol ceter tool: 1 Ope the cotrol ceter by choosig Start, Programs, DB2 for Widows NT, Admiistratio Tools, ad Cotrol Ceter. Choose Cofigure to directly modify the database cofiguratio parameters, or Cofigure Performace to ivoke the performace cofiguratio Smart Guide. Figure 18, Select Cofigure 2-16

The cotaier for this SMS tablespace is defied as a directory istead of as a data file. There must be at least 100 MB of free space i this disk to accout for future growth as SMS tablespaces caot have the space icreased dyamically. A tablespace to store user data USERSPACE1.
