7 About this documet This documet describes how to istall BaaERP o the AS/400. This guide is divided ito the followig chapters ad appedices: Chapter 1 describes the geeral purpose of the documet. Chapter 2 describes the istallatio overview ad prerequisites. Chapter 3 describes the steps to istall BaaERP. Chapter 4 describes how to cofigure BaaERP. Chapter 5 provides iformatio about objects specific to the AS/400, which iclude the Baa library ad the Baa-supplied objects to maage Baa o the AS/400. 9 1 Itroductio This documet describes how to istall BaaERP o the AS/400. It presets the istallatio precoditios, the BaaERP istallatio procedure, ad the cofiguratio of BaaERP after istallatio. This file system is desiged to be compatible with UNIX-based ope system stadards, such as POSIX ad XPG. This file system is ot case sesitive. Subset of sh (Uix), optioal AS/400 software. The QShell iterpreter (qsh) is a commad iterpreter for the AS/400 that is based o POSIX ad X/Ope stadards. The library file system. This file system supports the AS/400 library structure ad provides access to database files ad all the other AS/400 system object-types that are maaged by the library support. Stream file. The AS/400 will iterpret this as a sequece of bytes (o implied sematics). A Subsystem Descriptio (*SBSD) is a AS/400 system object that describes a subsystem. 11 2 Istallatio overview ad prerequisites Istallatio overview The followig steps preset a broad outlie of the istallatio process for the AS/400: 1 Customer prerequisites: wishes cocerig PVRCs, developmet, extra audits. 2 System prerequisites: cofigure TCP/IP ad (optioally, if plaed for your system) Opti Coect o the system; istall ecessary PTFs o the system; set required system values; cofigure a ASP for the joural receivers [Appedix C]. 3 Istall BW o a workstatio (NT, Widows); part of the istallatio will be doe from a cliet sessio. 4 Startig the istallatio: The istallatio program is started by either the QSECOFR user profile, or with the BSP user profile who has bee give *SAVSYS ad *ALLOBJ special authorizatio. To start the istallatio as user BSP, user profile BSP must be created first. You will be guided through the istallatio by AS/400 screes. 5 The istallatio program asks you to ru a sessio through BW to prepare the file system for the BaaERP eviromet (sometimes referred to as $BSE, Baa Software Eviromet). 6 The sessio, started i the previous step asks you to ru a program i a AS/400 termial to prepare the DB2/400 database for BaaERP. After you fiish this step,you ca cotiue the BW sessio from the previous step. 7 The istallatio program asks you to ru aother sessio through BW that imports the applicatio ito the system. 8 Read logs: the istallatio log messages ad the system log messages are stored i a log file (log.istall6.2). 9 Cofiguratio of the BaaERP eviromet. This ivolves loadig data for demo purposes, cofigurig shared memory for better performace ad cofigure the Audit system, ad some more iitializatios. 2-1

These scearios chage depedig o the locatio of the bshell, the database driver, ad the database. The followig are a few possible scearios for cofiguratio: 1 Two-tier. The bshell iterpreter, database driver, ad the database all ru o the same machie. 2 Three-tier. The bshell iterpreter ad the database driver ru o the same machie. The database is o a differet machie. For more iformatio about the cofiguratio models, refer to Baa Tools Techical Maual. Chapter 3 of this documet,istallatio Guide, discusses the procedures for istallatio i differet scearios. AS/400 layer Below is a schematic diagram of the istallatio flow i a typical two-tier cofiguratio. Here the BSE, bshell iterpreter, database driver, ad the database all reside i the same machie. 13 Istallatio overview ad prerequisites For sceario two (discussed i the earlier sectio) the istallatio takes place i multiple physical machies. The DB4INST6.2 database-likig program is ru from a differet machie. I order to simplify the istallatio procedure, the same istallatio script is ru o the ew machie. A simple meu at the start of the istallatio procedure guides the istallatio for these scearios. Please refer to Chapter 3, Istallatio Guide, for more details. Istallatio prerequisites Hardware ad software requiremet Istall AS/400 hardware. Istall OS/400 V4R3 or later, which icludes Qshell iterpreter optio (30). Also istall the 5769-TC1. Istall PRPQ 5799-XEH. This PRPQ is called Qshell Utilities ad ca be dowloaded from the Web at Set up a separate ASP for joural receivers. Apply PTFs (refer to appedix C). There is a special INFO APAR that has iformatio o the exact required PTF level, which is kept up-to-date with all the latest PTFs eeded. Set required system values (refer to appedix C). Cofigure ad test TCP/IP. Cofigure ad test Opti Coect if applicable. Istall user NOTE Oly the QSECOFR ad BSP user profiles ca start the istallatio. If the BSP user does ot exist, the istallatio process creates, with BAAN123 as password. We recommed that you process the istallatio as QSECOFR. Start the BaaERP istallatio with LODRUN utility The istallatio requires two media; oe for the platform-depedet portig set ad oe for the platform-idepedet Baa applicatio CD-ROM. LODRUN starts the istallatio from the portig set CD-ROM. This program calls aother program, which performs the user iterfacig, restores programs from the CD- ROM, prompts for certai system settigs, ad prompts to mout the Baa applicatio CD-ROM. It the copies the Baa software from CD-ROM to disk, ad starts the istall6.2 script, which will do the remaiig istallatio. 2-3

15 3 Istallatio guide To start the istallatio Before you start the istallatio, make sure that you review Chapter 2, Istallatio overview ad prerequisites ad appedix C ad make sure that everythig metioed there as a prerequisite is cofigured ad istalled. The istallatio will most likely fail if ot all the PTF s are istalled. The followig steps must be followed for the istallatio: Sig o as user QSECOFR. These users also eed *ALLOBJ ad *SAVSYS authorizatio. Figure 3-1, Start scree to sig o to the AS/400 Isert the portig set CD-ROM. If you have differet versios of the portig set CDROM available, use the latest versio. 3-1

17 Istallatio guide Istallatio settigs The screes guide the istaller throughout the istallatio. Help screes have also bee added (move cursor to positio ad press F1). Chapter 2 discussed various istallatio scearios. This istallatio guide essetially covers sceario 1 where the bshell iterpreter, the database driver, ad the database all ru o the same machie. I Figure 3.3, optio oe leads to a istallatio of this kid. I a typical cliet/server eviromet, the database is o a sigle machie, whereas the bshell iterpreter ad the database driver ru o a differet machie. I that case, we suggest that you istall the full eviromet first o the DB machie. After that is completed, you will be able to add applicatio servers by doig a LODRUN o the applicatio server machie ad choosig optio 2 ad optio 3 o the meu to set up a lik betwee the applicatio server ad the DB machie. 18 Istallatio guide Program library The istallatio program prompts you to specify a library for programs ad other AS/400-specific objects that must be stored i the AS/400 s QSYS file system. You ca specify a ew library or a existig library. I this istallatio documet, the <MYLIB> library used is testlib. The default i the istall program is BAANLIB. You ca keep this, but if you have more tha oe istace of BaaERP o your system you must use differet libraries. Subsystem descriptio The istallatio program prompts you to specify a subsystem descriptio. The subsystem descriptio is created i the specified program library. If more tha oe istace of Baa is istalled o the AS/400, the differet ames must be used for the subsystem descriptio ames. For example, if a Baa productio eviromet ad a Baa test eviromet are created o the same system, the subsystems for each ca be BAAN ad BAANTEST. Temporary istallatio directory The istallatio program extracts files from the CD-ROM ito the specified temporary istallatio directory. From here, the istallatio program further maipulates files. It is recommeded that you specify a oexistig directory. I the documet, the <MyIstall> directory used is testistall. The default i the istall program is BaaIstall. Agai : if you have more tha oe istace of BaaERP o your system, you must also use differet directory ames here. You must ot delete this directory after the istallatio is fiished. After you eter the ecessary values, press Eter. If you are doig a update (refer also to Appedix D) the followig scree appears (figure 3-5). If you are usig a ew portig set CD-ROM (set as part of a update), you must choose Yes. You must choose No oly if you are sure that the portig set CDROM exactly matches the portig set library curretly o the system or if a support represetative istructs you to aswer No. If you do t kow, choose Yes. 3-4

20 Istallatio guide Press Eter to upack the files ito the temporary istallatio directory. The you will be asked for the applicatio CD-ROM. Cofirm i the followig scree: Figure 3-7, Prompt to mout the applicatio CD-ROM The default path to mout the CD-ROM is show as /QOPT. If the applicatio is mouted from a differet path, this must be stated. Put the applicatio CD-ROM ito the drive. If you are doig a update with a Service Pack, you must isert the update CD-ROM here. Press ENTER to cotiue. 3-6

22 Istallatio guide Cliet programs After the istallatio script has set up a small Baa eviromet, it prompts you to start a Baa cliet, such as BW or BI, ad ru the istallatio object amed ottiex1289. The parameters required for the cliet are give (Figure 3-9). To istall BW, you must dowload the BW biary files to your Widows NT/95 workstatio. First, create a ew directory for the BW biary files o your Widows NT/95 workstatio. I the followig example, the directory will be called \Program Files\BW. Ope a DOS commad prompt ad chage to the directory where you will istall BW by typig the followig commad: cd Program Files\BW 3-8

23 Istallatio guide NOTE: Start ftp with the followig commad: ftp hostame where hostame is the ame of the AS/400 host system. You are prompted for your user ame ad password. Log o as AS/400 user QSECOFR. Type the followig commads to chage to the AS/400 temporary directory (<myistall>) where the BW files are stored ad to fid the ame of the BW directory: cd $BSE/mswidows/BW/i386 ls where $BSE is the temporary BSE, for example /testistall/istall/bse. Choose $BSE/mswidows/BW/i386 if your PC supports the 386 architecture. Otherwise choose $BSE/mswidows/BW/alpha. Type the followig commads to retrieve the BW biary files i biary mode with the iteractive mode tured off for coveiece: prompt bi mget * The files are dowloaded to the directory that you create for BW. Go to Widows Explorer ad ope this directory. Double-click the setup file. This starts the BW istallatio program. Welcome scree is displayed. Click Next to cotiue. 3-9

24 Istallatio guide The Choose Destiatio Locatio scree is displayed, askig you to supply a target directory for the BW cliet software. Accept the default destiatio directory or supply a alterate oe by clickig Browse. If the directory you choose does ot exist, you will be asked if you wat to create it. Click Yes. Click Next to cotiue. Figure 3-10, Istallig BW Whe setup is complete, click OK. Before you start the BW, make sure the REXEC server is ruig. Baa recommeds you to restart the REXEC server. Use the followig commads from the AS/400 commad lie: ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*REXEC) STRTCPSVR SERVER(*REXEC) Start BW by selectig BW from the BaaERP program group. 3-10

25 Istallatio guide The BW Cofiguratio scree is displayed. Type the ame of the AS/400 host computer i the Hostame field. Coect as QSECOFR. Type the complete path ame to the BSE, the bshell ame, ad the commad listed i Figure 3-9. Click RUN! Figure 3-11, BW cofiguratio 3-11

29 Istallatio guide To create the lik with DB2/400, you must eter the system ame (DB4_HOME) where DB2/400 is located. 31 Istallatio guide Choose the package combiatio. The data for the demo compaies that come with the product (for example, compaies 813 ad 900) is mostly based o the stadard VRC. It is recommeded that you choose the stadard VRC (1) for all packages here. If you later see durig the import of the democompaies that the compay is based o the update VRC (for example, updated with Service Pack X), you must create aother package combiatio at that time with the update VRCs ad lik the compay to that VRC. It is recommeded to always have a package combiatio with the stadard VRCs aroud. If you are istallig BaaERP with localizatios (for example, Frech or Italia or Spaish) there are also demo compaies based o the VRC with the localizatios. Before you import these democompaies, you must create a package combiatio for these compaies as described i the documetatio that goes with the localizatio. After a few similar package-combiatio iformatio screes, the cosolidated package-istallatio iformatio is displayed. Figure 3-19, The cosolidated package-combiatio iformatio 3-17

38 Istallatio guide Collectio To create a default Baa collectio: O the AS/400, the Baa tables are stored i a SQL collectio. For more iformatio, refer to DB2/400 Database Driver Techical Referece Maual. There are o table spaces o the AS/400. The default collectio ame is BAANDATA. Joural receiver ASP The ASP i which to place the joural receiver. For recovery ad performace beefits, you must specify a ASP other tha the system ASP (ASP 1). Refer to the AS/400 maual OS/400 Backup ad Recovery for iformatio o cofigurig a additioal ASP. If you create groups ad users, you must set iitial passwords for the groups ad users. Figure 3-28, Creatio of a DB group Group ame The ame of the iitial Baa group. This must ot be the ame of a existig user profile o the system. The default group ame displayed o the scree is Baa. Password The password for the iitial Baa group. The password is ot displayed o the scree. 3-24

39 Istallatio guide Type the user password. Press <TAB> to go to the Verify Password field. Type the password agai for verificatio. Press ENTER. Please ote that if the BSP user did ot exist before the istallatio, it was created by the istallatio process. This chages the password to the password specified, ad adds BSP as a user to the curret BSE. Figure 3-30, Database storage file 3-25

40 Istallatio guide After the db4_storage file has bee created ad displayed, this program exits. You ca sig off ad cotiue with ottiex1289 (Figure 3-23). After you cotiue with the BW sessio, the permissios o the files are set ad the sessio also exits. Refer to the DB2/400 Database Driver Techical Referece Maual for more iformatio o the db4_storage file. Figure 3-31, Settig up permissios for file access NOTE Settig permissios for files ca take up to thirty miutes. After you set up the permissio, the sessio termiates. You retur to the sessio (Figure 3-9) where the iitial LODRUN was called ad you cotiue with the istallatio by pressig Y to cotiue. If the BW was ot carried out, or if it eded usuccessfully, the istallatio is aborted. You must the start agai with the BW sessio. 3-26

41 Istallatio guide There will be a request to start a BI/BW sessio (Figure 3-32) i order to start the istallatio object amed ottiex1287. The log files for the istallatio are i $BSE/log. Check the log files, especially log.istall6.2, for ay error log messages. You are advised to check the istallatio logs after each step. After the successful istallatio it is strogly recommeded that you clear the istallatio-related message queue of QSECOFR ad BSP users. You ca see the cotet of the message queue by usig the DSPMSGQ MSGQ(QSECOFR) commad. If you wat to save other messages, delete the istallatio messages. To istall the demo tables Creatig more DB2/400 collectios If you pla to istall demo tables for multiple compaies, or if you pla to create more compaies, you must create differet collectios. The maximum umber of objects per COLLECTION is 32K. So a safe choice is to create at most two compaies i a collectio (>2000 tables ad a lot of idexes per compay). Ru the <BAANLIB>/CRTBAANCOL program to create collectio. Fill i the correct group user (for example, BAAN) as the ower. Chage the db4_storage file to assig the collectios to the compaies. The democompay 813 ad 900 i BaaERP5.0b are based o the stadard VRC. The Democompaies for localizatios are usually based o the localizatio VRC. You ca look up what VRCs the democompaies are based o i the followig file: $BSE/lib/istall/istall.data. 6 Click Close. NOTE To create tables for the demo models You must ow create tables for each compay for which you istalled demo tables i the previous sectio. This user profile is created i the istallatio if it does ot already exist. The istallatio prompts you to supply a password if this password is created. All of the objects created by the istallatio are chaged to have BSP as their ower. BSPGROUP A user profile that is used as a group. All objects created by the istallatio are chaged to allow BSPGROUP to be the group ower. The password for this user is set to *NONE. DEMO A user profile with *USRCLS authority. The iitial password for this user is set to BAAN123. TOOLS A user profile with *USRCLS authority. The iitial password for this user is set to BAAN123. APPLIC A user profile with *USRCLS authority. The iitial password for this user is set to BAAN123. BAANCONNDB A user profile with miimal authorities that is used by the database driver to make database coectios. The iitial password for this user is CONNDB. The password must ot be chaged ad the iitial program to be called is SIGNOFF to discourage use of this profile. To chage the password, you must chage the password of the user profile (CHGUSRPRF), ad the choose the DB4MAINT commad (optio *CHGCONPAS) for each BSE o the system. This autostart job starts the daemo processes ecessary for Baa. Note that you must start the Baa subsystem before users ca coect to Baa. See the AS/400 referece book Work Maagemet Guide for more iformatio o AS/400 autostart job etries. Aother autostart job etry will be created for the QBFCLISTEN job that rus i the subsystem. For this autostart job etry, the QBFCLISTEN job descriptio is used from the Baa library (the library ame was defied durig istallatio - Figure 3-4). NOTE QBFCLISTEN job descriptio Oe QBFCLISTEN job descriptio is created i the BAANCOMMON library ad aother i the Baa library. These job descriptios are used to start up the QBFCLISTEN programs. The program is started i the QSYSWRK subsystem usig the job descriptio from the BAANCOMMON library ad is used for three-tier eviromets o the system. The program is started i the Baa subsystem usig the job descriptio from the Baa library ad is used for 2-tier eviromets. QBFCLISTEN is a database coectio daemo ecessary to start database sessios. A service table etry called BAANSERVER is created i the istallatio that idicates what QBFCLISTEN must liste for. See the AS/400 referece book Work Maagemet Guide for more iformatio o AS/400 job descriptios. If you have problems coectig to Baa with error 505, make sure this job is ruig. Remote databases There are may possible BaaERP cofiguratios that allow databases to be istalled o remote systems. However, there is o automated istallatio process to place databases o remote machies. See the chapter etitled Remote Databases i the Baa Tools Techical Maual for details o how to cofigure a remote database. The Baa Tools Techical Maual recommeds that you istall the complete Baa eviromet o the remote system. Use the istallatio process for remote AS/400 systems, so that those system-specific cofiguratios ca be set up correctly. 5-3

Startig this subsystem causes shared memory ad the daemos ecessary for the BSE to be started i this subsystem. To allow BAAN to automatically be started durig a system IPL, the call to STRBAAN must be added to the QSTRUP program. The *JOBCTL special authority is required to use the STRBAAN commad. To ed Baa The ENDBAAN commad ca be called to ed a Baa subsystem. All jobs curretly ru i the subsystem are eded by the operatig system i a cotrolled fashio. The *JOBCTL ad *ALLOBJ special authorities are required to use the ENDBAAN commad. Authorizatios All objects i the iitial Baa eviromet have BSP as their ower ad BSPGROUP as their group ower. All objects have o private authorizatios. Ay users that must be added to Baa must be added to the BSPGROUP so that the Baa objects ca be accessed. This ca be doe with the CHGUSRPRF commad. Other tools ADDRMTUSR This commad supplies a easy method to create a remote user file. Ay user who wats to coect to Baa o a remote system must have this file. The ame of this file is r<user ame>. For example, user profile JANE eeds a remote user file amed rjane. This file is put i the ${BSE}/lib/user directory. If this file already exists, a etry is appeded to the existig file. CRTBAANCOL This commad creates a BAAN database collectio. You ca create the collectio by usig the user profile of the curret job, or you ca specify a differet user profile (with its password) to create a collectio for a differet user. A ew collectio is ecessary to have private tables, for istace. 6-2

71 7 Appedix A: The DBA module NOTE The DBA module is desiged to make the job of the database admiistrator (DBA) easier. The DBA module provides a graphical user iterface that allows the DBA to add database groups ad database users, ad to lik BaaERP users to database users. The DBA module allows you to work with idividual user records, or to perform the same procedures o multiple user records at oce. BaaERP users are added i a sessio outside the DBA module, but sice the creatio of BaaERP users is a ecessary step i creatig database users, a brief descriptio of that sessio is icluded here. This appedix provides a overview of the DBA module. More iformatio ca be foud i the BaaERP olie Help. The Covert BAAN Users to Database Users (ttdba0915m000) sessio allows you to covert oe or more Baa users to database users without first creatig database users. This sessio automatically creates a database user for each Baa user ad liks the BAAN user to the database user i oe step. Oce the ew Baa users have bee etered by ruig the User Data (ttaad2500m000) sessio, you ca lik idividual Baa users to database users as follows: 1 I the User Data (ttaad2500m000) sessio, select a sigle user record or a group of user records. To covert a rage of users, eter the ame of the first user that you wat to covert i the From subfield ad the ame of the last user that you wat to covert i the To subfield. If you wat to covert every BaaERP user, leave the From subfield blak ad type zzzzzzzzzzzz i the To subfield. 6 If you wat to make the Baa user a system user, select the Use System Log o for Database User check box. 7 Click Covert. 8 To esure that oly the DBA modifies the users i the user file, the Eter Data Base Admiistrator Password scree is displayed. Type the DBA ame ad password ad click OK. 9 A database user is created for each Baa user ad is give the same ame as the Baa user.
