4 Chapter 2: Reprts fr Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Use Reprts by Wrkspace ONE Intelligence t cllate data in yur Wrkspace ONE UEM deplyment. Intelligence reprting uses a clud-based reprt strage system t gather data and create the reprts. Reprts Backgrund The Reprts feature prvides faster, easier access t critical business intelligence data than nrmal Wrkspace ONE UEM reprts. Build reprts using starter templates r custmize canned reprts. Yu can select frm categries that include Apps, Devices, and OS Updates. These reprts prvide the latest data extracted frm yur Wrkspace ONE UEM envirnment. Reprts use a separate service t push data t a reprts clud service. This service captures data useful t administratrs when trying t answer critical questins. The feature gathers an initial snapsht f yur deplyment and cntinues t capture nging changes. Install the Reprts Service Befre using Wrkspace ONE Intelligence features, yu must install the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr service (als knwn as the ETL installer) nt a separate server in yur Wrkspace ONE UEM envirnment. Each feature uses the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr Service installed frm the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr Installer. The Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr service gathers the data frm yur Wrkspace ONE UEM cnsle server and pushes it t the reprts clud service. Fr mre infrmatin, see Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Requirements n page 5 and Install the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr Service fr On-Premises n page 6. Reprts Wizard The Reprts wizard can create a custmized reprt using a starter template r a new reprt. The wizard guides yu thrugh each step. 4

5 Chapter 2: Reprts fr Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Reprts use filters yu can custmize t gather data frm apps and devices based n key attributes. Include as many filters as necessary t narrw the results f the reprt. Each filter added uses the "AND" peratr. Yu then select the value fr the value and the peratr fr each attribute. Fr mre infrmatin, see Run the Reprts Wizard n page 8. Manage Reprts After creating a reprt, manage yur reprts frm the Reprts List View. Frm this screen, yu can run reprts, schedule reprts t run, cpy reprts, and delete reprts. Install the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr Service fr On-Premises The Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr service cllects data frm yur Wrkspace ONE UEM database and pushes it t the clud-based reprt service. Find the cnnectr at Yu must install it n its wn server. Fr additinal infrmatin abut the installatin prcess f ther Wrkspace ONE UEM applicatin servers, refer t the VMware Wrkspace ONE UEM Installatin Guide n Imprtant: If yu upgrade the Wrkspace ONE UEM database as part f the upgrade prcess, yu must stp the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr Service during the Wrkspace ONE UEM Database upgrade. Yu must then restart the service after finishing the upgrade prcess. Imprtant: If yu must change the setting fr Deplyment Regin, d nt run the installer again. T install the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr Service, take the fllwing steps. 1. Dwnlad the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr installer n t the server yu cnfigured fr the service. 2. Run the installer and select Next. 3. Accept the Terms f Use and select Next. 4. Ensure that the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr Service is selected as a feature t install. Select Next. 5. The installer detects the versin f Java installed n the applicatin server. If the installer des nt detect the required versin, the required versin installs. Select Next. 6. Enter the Database server settings. Setting AirWatch Database Server Select Brwse next t the Database server text bx and select yur Wrkspace ONE UEM database frm the list. If yu are using a custm prt, d nt select Brwse. Instead, use the fllwing syntax: DBHstName,<custmPrtNumber>, then select Brwse t select the database server. Fr example: db.acme.cm,

Windws Authenticatin uses a service accunt n the Windws server t authenticate. Yu are prmpted t enter the service accunt that yu want t use. This service accunt is used t run all the applicatin pls and Wrkspace ONE UEM-related services. The service accunt must have Wrkspace ONE UEM Database access. SQL Server Authenticatin uses the SQL server authenticatin methd. Yu are prmpted t enter the user name and passwrd. AirWatch Database Name Enter the name f the Wrkspace ONE UEM database r brwse the SQL server and select it frm a list. Select Next. 7. Select the Destinatin Flder in which t install the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr service. Select Next. 8. Cnfigure the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr Service settings. Setting Deplyment Regin Select the regin fr yur clud service. Whitelist the api.ci.dpa0.rg and the discvery.awmdm.cm URLs fr all regins. The installer calls these endpints fr a list f all supprted regins. Each URL represents a regin f the clud service and is selected based n the lcatin f yur enterprise data. The United States (Sandbx) is fr UAT envirnments. Ensure that the right regin is selected. D nt run the installer again if yu must change this regin in the future. If yu upgrade yur Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr Service frm a previus versin, this screen des nt display because yu cannt change yur regin during an upgrade. Select Install t install the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr Service. After the installatin finishes, select Finish. Run the Reprts Wizard The reprts wizard guides yu thrugh creating a custmized reprt n yur Wrkspace ONE UEM envirnment. The wizard has blank templates that yu can use as a base fr yur reprts, r yu can custmize canned reprts. Fr infrmatin abut accessing the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence UI, see Access Wrkspace ONE Intelligence n page 10. T run the reprts wizard, take the fllwing steps. 1. Access the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence UI. 2. G t Reprting > Reprts and then select Add Reprt. 3. Select the reprt categry: Apps, Devices, r OS Updates. 4. Select a template and select Next. Device Templates Select t create a reprt frm a blank template. Select t create a reprt that lists all enrlled devices and their details. Select t create a reprt that lists all devices that vilate yur cmpliance plicies. OS Updates Templates Select t create a reprt based n a blank template. Create a reprt n all (r filtered) updates t the Windws OS. Create a reprt cntaining all (r filtered) critical updates t the OS. Create a reprt fcused n security updates t the OS. Create a reprt abut service pack updates t the OS. 5. On the Custmize screen, select Add Filter t add filters t yur blank template r custmize a starter template further. Each filter requires the fllwing settings. Setting Filter Selectrs Value Select an attribute that crrespnds t the data yu are trying t gather. Fr example, the Enrlled Devices template uses the Enrllment Status attribute t narrw results. Select an peratr that applies t the value f the attribute. Fr example, if yu are using the Device Organizatin Grup GUID attribute, select the Includes selectr t include all devices in the OG that match the value. Enter a value n which yu want t receive data. Fr sme selectrs, yu can select the value frm a drp-dwn menu whereas thers require an explicit entry. Fr example, if yu are using the Enrllment Status attribute and the Includes selectr, select Enrlled t receive a reprt n all enrlled devices. Cnversely, if yu are filtering devices by the Cuntry attribute and the Include selectr, yu must enter in the name f the cuntry yu want t include in the reprt. Yu must Add Filter fr each cuntry yu want t filter. 6. Under Reprt Preview, select Edit Clumns. The Edit Clumns screen displays. 7. Find the clumn that crrespnds t the filter yu have selected t see a preview f the reprt. 9

10 Chapter 2: Reprts fr Wrkspace ONE Intelligence 8. Select Save t return t the Add Reprt screen and select Next. 9. Enter a Reprt Name and Reprt. 10. Select Run yur reprt nw if yu want t run the reprt after saving the custmized reprt. 11. Optinally, yu can select Run reprt nw r yu can create a schedule fr the reprt at anther time. 12. Select Save t save the reprt. Access Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Access the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence interface frm the Wrkspace ONE UEM cnsle. Frm the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence interface, yu can use dashbards, autmatin, and reprts (frmerly custm reprts). Access the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Interface Yu must enter yur credentials and pt-in t the service. Access the reprts by navigating t Hub > Intelligence, select Opt-in, and select Launch after installing the Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Cnnectr service. Return t the Wrkspace ONE UEM Cnsle T return t the Wrkspace ONE UEM cnsle, fllw these steps. 1. Select the square menu fr VMware Services in the tp right crner f the UI. 2. Select Wrkspace ONE UEM frm the VMware Services menu. Reprts Management After creating a reprt, yu can manage yur reprts frm the Reprts List View. Yu can run reprts, schedule reprts t run, cpy reprts, and delete reprts. Run Reprts Select a reprt and select Run t run the reprt immediately. After the reprt finishes, yu receive an with a link directing yu t yur reprt. Send Reprts Select a reprt and select Send t send the reprt t anther Wrkspace ONE UEM administratr. They can then access the reprt thrugh the link sent. Schedule Reprts Select a reprt and select Schedule t schedule a reprt t run and t send an cntaining a link t the reprt after it is finished. The cntains a dwnlad link t the reprt. T access the reprt, users must have an admin accunt n the Wrkspace ONE UEM cnsle t lg in and authenticate befre dwnlading. In the Schedule Reprt screen, cnfigure the fllwing settings t schedule a reprt. 10

Hurly Daily Weekly Mnthly The Recurrence value affects the available time settings. Every Starts At Time f the day Days f the week Starts At Day f mnth Starts At Hurly Select the number f hurs that must pass befre the reprt runs again. Select the time f day the reprt runs. Daily Select the time f day yu want the reprt t run. Weekly Select the days f the week and the time f day yu want the reprt t run. Select the time f day the reprt runs. Mnthly Set the day f the mnth and the time f day yu want the reprt t run. This setting displays when Recurrence is set t Mnthly. Select the time f day the reprt runs. Ends Subject Message If yu want t stp the recurrence f a reprt, set the end date. Enter a subject fr the sent after the reprt finishes. The cntains the link t access the reprt. Enter a message fr the sent after the reprt finishes. Yu can view scheduled reprts and their frequency by navigating t Hub > Intelligence > Launch > Reprting > Scheduled Reprts. Cpy Reprts Select a reprt and select Cpy t create a cpy f the reprt. Use this actin when yu want different schedules fr the same reprt. Cpy als helps when yu want t create a reprt that is based n an existing reprt withut starting frm the beginning. 11

12 Chapter 2: Reprts fr Wrkspace ONE Intelligence Delete Reprts Select a reprt and select Delete t delete a reprt. Deleting a reprt remves the reprt and any assciated subscriptins permanently. Edit Reprts T edit the filters f a reprt, select a reprt and select Edit. 12

Use this infrmatin t trublesht yur deplyment and make infrmed decisins n what actins t take. The exprts f these reprts are in cmma-separated values (CSV) frmat. In versin 9.0.2, Wrkspace ONE UEM added three new reprts that appear the same as existing reprts but use a revamped back-end framewrk. This new framewrk generates reprts with imprved features. Mre intuitive interface. Imprved reprt generatin reliability. Easier filter selectin. Faster dwnlad times. Enhanced exprt status tracing capability. Streamlined reprts subscriptin functinality. The strage f yur reprts depends n the strage slutin yu use. By default, Wrkspace ONE UEM stres the reprts in the database. The reprts remain in the database until they expire. Once expired, the reprts are autmatically deleted. Depending n the size f yur deplyment, cnsider using a strage slutin as an extensin t yur database t imprve perfrmance. Extend yur database with File Strage and Reprts Strage. File Strage stres reprts, cntent, and applicatin in a separate file strage server. Reprts Strage stres Wrkspace ONE UEM Reprts in a dedicated file stre separate frm all ther cntent. T imprve perfrmance, cnsider enabling the reprts strage. This strage uses a dedicated server t stre all Wrkspace ONE UEM Reprts and increase perfrmance. Fr mre infrmatin, see Reprts Strage n page 32. T see the new reprts, navigate t Hub > Reprts & Analytics > Reprts > List View. T see the exprted new reprts, navigate t Hub > Reprts & Analytics > Exprts. Wrkspace ONE UEM ffers 20 new reprts. On the Parameters tab, cnfigure applicable settings t set criteria fr the scpe f the reprt. These settings vary depending n the reprt. 4. On the Schedule tab, cnfigure the fllwing settings. Setting Frm T Specifies frm whm the subscriptin is sent. Specifies wh receives the subscriptin. Recurrence Defines when the UEM cnsle sends the subscriptin. Generate Reprts The Wrkspace ONE UEM reprts and analytics slutin includes the ability t exprt data frm many sectins in the UEM cnsle. Frm the Exprts page n the UEM cnsle, yu can dwnlad the generated reprts nce reprts are successfully generated, links t dwnlad are available in the Exprt grid. T generate, view, and exprt a reprt, take the fllwing steps. 1. Navigate t Hub > Reprts & Analytics > Reprts > List View and select the desired reprt. 2. Subscriptin enables yu t access imprtant infrmatin regarding usage and ther technical parameters. Imprtant: Any subscriptins assciated with a deprecated reprt shuld functin as it is. Instead, they are marked as deprecated. Cnsider using new reprts and creating subscriptins t use them. Prcedure 1. Navigate t Hub > Reprts & Analytics > Reprts > List View > All Reprts. 2. Select a desired reprt and select the Reprt Subscriptins icn. 3. On the General tab, cnfigure the fllwing settings. Setting Defines a descriptive name fr the subscriptin. Render Frmat Defines the frmat fr the reprt. The default file frmat is cmma-separated values (CSV). Reply T Subject Message Bdy Specifies wh receives the subscriptin. Setting Once Daily Weekly Mnthly Recurrence Select this ptin t subscribe t this reprt a single time. Select this ptin t receive the reprt every time a set number f days pass. Select this ptin t receive the reprt n specific days f the week. Select this ptin t receive the reprt n a specific day f the mnth. Yu can als set the schedule t First, Secnd, Third, Furth, r Last weekday f the mnth. If the recurrence is set t a day that des nt ccur in the mnth, yu d nt receive a reprt. Fr example, if yu set recurrence t the Furth Friday f a mnth, and the mnth nly has 3 Fridays, yu d nt receive a reprt fr that mnth. This als applies t specific days f the mnth such as the 31st day f a mnth when the mnth nly has 30 days. 23

The installatin prcess enables this prcess but if it is nt running, yu must enable it t use Wrkspace ONE UEM Reprts. Each UEM cnsle server requires the backgrund prcessing service. Each server prcesses reprts and writes them t their respective queue befre sending them t the database, file strage, r reprts strage. T enable the backgrund prcessing service, perfrm the fllwing steps. 1. Press Windws key + R n the cnsle server bx. 2. Run the cmmand "services.msc". 3. A screen appears listing all services running n the Cnsle Server bx. Lcate Airwatch Backgrund Prcessr Service and select Prperties. 27

29 Chapter 4: File Strage Certain Wrkspace ONE UEM functinality uses a dedicated file strage service t handle prcessing and dwnlads, which reduces the verall burden n yur Wrkspace ONE UEM database and increases its perfrmance. It als includes certain Wrkspace ONE UEM reprts, internal applicatin deplyment, and Wrkspace ONE UEM-managed cntent. When yu enable file strage fr any f these functinalities, it is applied t the thers autmatically. Setting up file strage causes all reprts, all internal applicatins, and all managed cntent t be stred there. Cnfiguring file strage manually is nly applicable t n-premises custmers. It is autmatically cnfigured fr SaaS custmers. Wrkspace ONE UEM Reprts As f cnsle versin 9.0.2, three new reprts were added that appear the same as existing reprts but use a revamped back-end framewrk. This new framewrk generates reprts with greater reliability and faster dwnlad times. T take advantage f these benefits, yu must set up file strage. Fr mre infrmatin abut these reprting updates, see the fllwing Knwledge Base article: Internal Applicatins When file strage is enabled, all internal applicatin packages that yu uplad thrugh the UEM cnsle are stred in a file strage lcatin. File strage is required t deply Win32 applicatins (IPA, PAK, APPX, MSI, EXE, and s n) and macos applicatins (.dmg,.pkg,.mpkg, and s n) frm the Apps & Bks area f the UEM cnsle. This feature is called sftware distributin. Wrkspace ONE UEM Managed Cntent Yu can separate the managed cntent frm the Wrkspace ONE UEM database by string it in a dedicated file strage lcatin. Uplading large amunts f managed cntent might cause issues with database perfrmance. In this case, npremises custmers can free up space in the database by mving the managed cntent t an integrated lcal file strage slutin. 29

30 Chapter 4: File Strage Persnal cntent als mves t the file strage slutin is enabled. By default, persnal cntent is stred in the SQL database. If yu have a Remte File Strage enabled, persnal cntent is stred in the RFS and nt in the file strage r SQL database. File Strage Requirements T set up lcal file strage, yu must meet the fllwing requirements. Imprtant: File Strage is required fr Windws 10 Sftware Distributin. Create the Shared Flder n a Server in Yur Internal Netwrk File strage can reside n a separate server r the same server as ne f the ther AirWatch applicatin servers in yur internal netwrk. It is nly accessible t cmpnents that require access t it, such as the Cnsle and Device Services servers. If the Device Services server, Cnsle server, and the server hsting the shared flder are nt in the same dmain, then establish Dmain Trust between the dmains t avid the authenticatin failure. If the Device Services server r Cnsle server is nt jined t any dmain, then supplying the dmain during service accunt cnfiguratin is sufficient. Cnfigure the Netwrk Requirements If using Samba/SMB TCP: 445, 137, 139. UDP: 137, 138 If using NFS TCP and UDP: 111 and 2049 Allcate Sufficient Hard Disk Capacity Yur specific strage requirements may vary depending n hw yu plan t use file strage. The file strage lcatin shuld have enugh space t accmmdate the internal apps, managed cntent, r reprts yu intend t use. Take int the accunt the fllwing cnsideratins. If yu enable caching fr internal apps r cntent, then a best practice is t size the Device Services server fr 120 percent f the cumulative size f all the apps/cntent yu need t publish. Fr string reprts, yur strage requirements depend n the number f devices, the daily amunt f reprts, and the frequency with which yu purge them. As a starting pint, yu shuld plan t allcate at least 50 GB fr deplyment sizes up t 250,000 devices running abut 200 daily reprts. Adjust these numbers based n the actual amunt yu bserve in yur deplyment. Apply this sizing t yur Cnsle server as well if yu enable caching. Create a Service Accunt with Crrect Permissins Create an accunt with read and write permissins t the shared strage directry. Create the same lcal user and passwrd n the Cnsle, Device Services, and the server that is being used fr File Strage. 30

Cnfigure the File Strage Impersnatin User in AirWatch with the lcal user. Yu can als use a dmain service accunt instead f a lcal user accunt. Cnfigure File Strage at the Glbal Organizatin Grup Cnfigure file strage settings at the Glbal rganizatin grup level in the UEM Cnsle. File Strage Cnfiguratin Enable File Strage fr Reprts Cnfigure file strage using the fllwing prcedure. 1. Select the File Strage Enabled slider and cnfigure the settings. When file strage is enabled, yu can cnfigure an external repsitry in which files are stred. A disabled setting means that files are stred as binary large bjects in the database. Cnsider enabling reprts strage if yu see a perfrmance impact n yur Wrkspace ONE UEM database when using reprts. Reprts strage applies t reprts nly, helping increase verall reprts perfrmance, and reducing the burden n yur Wrkspace ONE UEM database. If yu enable bth file strage and reprts strage, reprts strage verrides file strage when string reprts. Reprt strage requires a dedicated server t hst the service and strage f the reprts. Reprts Strage Requirements T deply the reprts strage slutin, ensure that yur server meets the requirements. Nte: If yu are already using File Strage, then Reprt Strage is available, but nt required t run yur deplyment. If yu cnfigure Reprts Strage alngside File Strage, the reprt files will priritize reprt strage ver file strage.
