The card prvides a 1 x 2.5Gbps ExpressCard/34 interface n the hst side and dual, fully cmpliant SATA II 3Gbps prts n the device side. 3 2. Sftware Installatin 2.1. Windws NT Installatin 1. Insert the card int an available ExpressCard slt. Cnnect esata cable(s) between the SATA prt and the SATA device(s). 2. Windws will display the 'Fund New Hardware Wizard'. Click 'Next'. 3. Select 'Search fr a suitable driver fr my device (recmmended)' and click 'Next'. 4. Insert the driver CD in yur CD-ROM/DVD drive, check 'Specify a lcatin', uncheck the ther bxes, click 'Next', type in E:\ (where 'E' is yur CD-ROM/DVD). Click Brwse. 5. Specify the driver lcatin, e.g. E:\SATA Express_2Prt \Sil3132 \ WinXP_2000_2003_NT, and click 'OPEN' then 'OK'. 6. Chse 'Silicn Image SiI 3132 SATALink Cntrller' and click 'OK'. 7. After the driver installatin has cmpleted yu can fllw the instructins in sectin 2.3 t verify the cntrller was installed crrectly Windws 2000/XP/Server 2003 installatin 1. Insert the card int an available ExpressCard slt. Cnnect esata cable(s) between the SATA prt and the SATA device(s). 2. Windws will display the 'Fund New Hardware Wizard', 'Mass Strage cntrller'. 3. Select 'Install frm a list r specific lcatin (Advanced)' and click Next. Make sure the driver CD is in yur CD-ROM/DVD drive. 4. Select 'Search fr the best driver in these lcatins', and check 'Include this lcatin in the search:'. Uncheck the ther bxes. 5. Type in 'E:\ ' (If yur CD-ROM/DVD is E:\) then click 'Brwse'. 6. Specify the driver lcatin, e.g. E:\SATA Express_2Prt \Sil3132 \ WinXP_2000_2003_NT, and click 'OPEN' then 'OK'. 7. When the wizard indicates that it has fund a driver fr the device, click 'Next' 8. If the 'Hardware Installatin' dialg appears, click 'Cntinue Anyway' 9. The wizard will nw cpy the required files t the system and start the driver. After starting the driver, the wizard will display a cmpletin dialg, click 'Finish' t exit the wizard

4 2.3. Verifying the installatin Fr Windws 2000/XP/2003 Server 1. Right click the 'My Cmputer' icn, select 'Prperties', left click the 'Hardware' tab, and then click the 'Device Manager' buttn. 2. Duble click n 'SCSI and RAID Cntrllers'. If there is n yellw '! ' r '? ' in frnt f 'Silicn Image SiI 3132 SATALink Cntrller', the driver has started crrectly. 3. T view infrmatin abut the devices attached t the cntrller, use the SiICfg Utility and click n the device frm the list. Fr Windws NT Duble click n the 'My Cmputer' icn, select 'Cntrl Panel', click n the SCSI Adapters' icn, 'Silicn Image SiI 3132 SATALink Cntrller' shuld be displayed crrectly under 'Device' and 'Driver' tab. 2. T view infrmatin abut the devices attached t the cntrller, use the SiICfg Utility and click n the device frm the list Updating the driver under Windws NT Click 'Start' 2. Under 'Settings', click 'Cntrl Panel'. 3. Select 'SCSI Adapters' frm the Cntrl Panel. 4. Select the 'Drivers' tab and click 'Add'. 5. Click 'Have Disk'. 6. Insert the driver CD int yur CD-ROM/DVD drive and press 'Enter'. 7. Chse E:\SATA Express_2Prt \Sil3132 \ WinXP_2000_2003_NT and click 'OK'. 8. Refer t the instructins in sectin 2.3 t verify the cntrller was installed crrectly

5 2.5. Updating the driver under Win 2000/XP/Server Right click n the 'My Cmputer' icn and select 'Prperties'. Under the 'System Prperties' sectin, click n the 'Hardware' tab and then n 'Device Manager'. Click 'SCSI and RAID Cntrllers' and right click 'Silicn Image SiI 3132 SATALink Cntrller'. Select 'Prperties' frm the cntext menu. 2. Click 'Driver','Update Driver' and select 'Search fr a suitable driver fr my device [Recmmended]'. Insert the driver CD int yur CD-ROM/DVD drive. Click 'Next' t cmplete the driver installatin. 3. The system will g thrugh the enumeratin prcess and install the driver. At the end f the prcess, click 'Yes' t rebt yur system when necessary. 4. See the instructins in sectin 2.3 t verify cntrller was installed crrectly

Diese wurden vn der Bundesregierung im Elektr- und Elektrnikgerätegesetz ElektrG in deutsches Recht umgesetzt. Dieses Gesetz verbietet vm 24.März 2006 an das Entsrgen vn entsprechenden, auch alten, Elektr- und Elektrnikgeräten über die Hausmülltnne! Diese Geräte müssen den lkalen Sammelsystemen bzw. örtlichen Sammelstellen zugeführt werden! Drt werden sie kstenls entgegen genmmen.
