Navigate to the Token Ring DNI Card Device View or Resource View. 2. Select Current View Information... from the View menu E6 Generic Views 5-11

55 Information View Insignificant Device No button subviews are available from the Token Ring DNI Card Information View. For more specific details on the Information View, refer to the SPECTRUM Views Reference.! CAUTION Do not attempt to update this view unless you have a complete understanding of model thresholds in SPECTRUM. You must also have ADMIN editing security privileges for the specific Token RingDNI Card model. Insignificant Device SPECTRUM provides an insignificant device intelligence circuit that is useful with PCs or other endpoint devices not vital to the network operation. This circuit allows you to reduce the priority of network events originating at an insignificant end point device and thus eliminate the red alarm condition. In the Token Ring DNI Card s Information View, you can set the Value when Red attribute to zero (0). This causes the DNI Card icon to turn blue, instead of red, when contact is lost. Thus, there will be no rollup conditions for minor network events such as a workstation power-down. To change the Token Ring DNI Card svalue when Red attribute, follow these steps: 1. Navigate to the Token Ring DNI Card s Information View. 2. Enter zero (0) in the Value when Red attribute field. 3. Select Save All Changes from the File menu.
