37 The Application View Changing Application View Mode Changing Application View Mode The Application View allows you to toggle between Icon Mode and List Mode for displaying applications. Additionally, the Use Default option, when in Edit mode, instructs SPECTRUM to use the default view mode as configured in the app-defaults/spectrum file. When the Application View is initially opened, SPECTRUM sets the default to Icon Mode, which displays each application as an icon. List Mode displays the applications in a hierarchical tree structure and allows you to select the level of detail by collapsing or exploding branches of the tree. To toggle the Application View from Icon Mode to List Mode, follow these steps: 1. Select Mode... from the View menu. 2. Select List... from the Mode menu. The mode currently in use (Icon...) will appear grayed out on the menu. Initially, List Mode displays the entire application tree structure in exploded format. Single-clicking on any button using the left mouse button closes that branch of the List Mode tree structure. This feature allows you to simplify the tree structure such that specific sub-applications are hidden, or to explode previously hidden branches. The color of the buttons indicates the condition status of each application. Major applications (e.g., CtRouter) appear as text in the top level of the tree structure. You can access each application s Icon Subviews menu by highlighting the application s text representation and selecting Icon Subviews from the View menu, or by single-clicking on the application s text representation with the right mouse button. To toggle the Application View from List Mode to Icon Mode, follow these steps: 1. Select Mode... from the View menu. 2. Select Icon... from the Mode menu. The mode currently in use (List...) will appear grayed out on the menu. Figure 2-12 provides an overview of how to toggle between List Mode and Icon Mode from the View menu. 48 Interfaces Flood Delay The amount of time to wait (in seconds) after discovering that a directly connected route has gone down, before flooding updates on this router port. Setting the value to 0 will cause updates to be sent immediately. Request Delay The amount of time (in seconds) that the protocol will wait after receiving a request packet, before sending a response. Setting the value to 0 will cause a response to be sent immediately. Priority The priority of the agent on this router port. Type This button allows you to specify whether the attached network segment supports broadcast media access. Selecting BMA allows route advertisement packets to be sent as broadcasts. Selecting NBMA indicates that route advertisement packets must be addressed directly to each neighbor. Transmit Cost The cost of transmission for packets on this router port. Establishing a transmission cost allows accounting of transmission costs at a per packet rate. Hello Timer The periodic interval (in seconds) at which the protocol will advertise its route table on this router port. Split Horizon This button allows you to enable or disable the operation of Split Horizon on this router port. Split Horizon keeps track of the port on which route information is received and prevents route information from being sent back from the same router port on which it was received. Poison Reverse This button allows you to enable or disable the operation of Poison Reverse on this router port. Poison Reverse allows the protocol to advertise a downed route as unreachable during the period of time specified by Hold Down. Snooping This button allows you to enable or disable snooping on this router port. Enabling snooping operatesthe protocol in passive mode.
