1 The File Transfer Prtcl (FTP) feature f Investr Services Online enables yu t autmatically transmit any reprt frm Investr Services Online n t yur cmpany s FTP servers thrugh a secure methd f cmmunicatin between authenticated services and clients. Using available FTPS r SFTP security ptins, this ptin enables yu t transmit yur reprts t up t five (5) distinct flders. Reprts can be made available n RBC s servers and dwnladed via FTP t yur servers, r they can be transmitted directly t yur servers upn reprt generatin. This guide assumes that: 1. The FTP cnnectin has already been built between the I&TS FTP servers and yur cmpany s FTP server. 2. That yur cmpany has established a methd fr yu t retrieve reprts that have been dwnladed t yur cmpany s FTP server. If this is nt the case, review the Benefits Package t find ut mre abut the functinality and get an verview f the setup prcess. 2 Pull delivery with SSH security Hw the Pull delivery with SSH security ptin wrks: Reprts and data which have been saved as favurites and set up t be delivered n a schedule are sent frm Investr Services Online t the RBC I&TS FTP Server These reprts are held n ur server fr up t 5 days (they will be deleted after 5 days, but are still available t be manually run r dwnladed frm Investr Services Online at any time) Frm here, yur FTP server will sign in t the RBC I&TS FTP Server using: A username (prvided by RBC I&TS) A passwrd (prvided by RBC I&TS) The servers will als need t exchange matching SSH keys * Yur FTP server will retrieve (r pull ) the reprts and data frm the RBC I&TS FTP server. * This delivery ptin requires a shared netwrk key (als knwn as an SSH key). Bth yur server and RBC s server need t use the SAME shared key t cnnect. Yur technical cntact will need t generate an SSH key. Nte The reprt dwnlad via FTP ptin assumes that yur system is cnfigured t receive files t yur rganizatin s servers via FTP. 5 Step 1: Cmmunicate FTP cnnectin parameters with RBC I&TS The first step in setting up yur FTP cnnectivity is t wrk with yur RBC I&TS cntacts and yur wn rganizatin s IT cntacts t determine the prtcls used fr this cmmunicatin. This includes such infrmatin as yur SSL server names, hst names, directry names, file lcatins, FTP user names, certificatin infrmatin, etc. Step 2: Assign permissins t flders in Investr Services Online t supprt FTP cnnectivity Once yu have determined yur FTP cnnectivity settings, yu must assign permissins t the flders t be used n the FTP servers. T d s, perfrm the fllwing steps: 1. Access the Edit Cmpany Permissins page and enable the File Transfer flders (Destinatin Flders 1 t 5) (Figure 1). This will enable these flders fr yur cmpany. Step 2 Figure 2 Step 3: Test FTP cnnectin Once yu have entered yur FTP cnnectin parameters in Investr Services Online and yu have ensured that yur servers are set up t receive its reprt files, yu will need wrk with RBC I&TS and yur rganizatin s IT cntacts t initiate and test the cnnectin between the servers. T test these cnnectins, generate sample reprts in a test envirnment in Investr Services Online and use the FTP Autmated File Transfer ptin t transmit these reprts t yur servers using these settings (see the fllwing sectin fr instructins n dwnlading reprts via FTP). Once yu have cnfirmed that all f the cnnectin parameters are crrect and that the Autmated File Transfer wrks prperly via FTP, yu can start t dwnlad yur reprts in a real-time setting. 6/9 Investr Services Online August 2018

7 Start reprt dwnlad via FTP Once yu have cnfigured and tested the FTP cnnectins between yur server and RBC I&TS server, yu are ready t start dwnlading yur reprts. T d s, perfrm the fllwing steps: 1. Select a reprt and edit its schedule by selecting the reprt frm the My Favurites table in the My Reprts page and clicking Edit Schedule. The Edit Schedule page appears. 2. Frm the Delivery Optins sectin f this page (Figure 3), enable the Autmated Delivery ptin. 3. Select the File Transfer: T a pre-cnfigured destinatin ptin. 4. Frm the drp-dwn menu select the filename fr this file transfer. 5. Select whether yu wish t match the File Transfer filename t this filename, r enter a custm filename prefix. 6. Enable the File Transfer alerts t ntify yu that the reprt is available, the reprt failed r the file transfer failed. Step 4 Step 2 Step 3 Step 5 Step 7 Step 6 Figure 3 7. Click Save t save these settings. 8. Wait fr the reprt t be generated at the scheduled time (r manually generate the reprt). Yu can then access the reprt frm yur server.
