Catalg descriptin: This curse prvides an intrductin t web systems and technlgies, including an verview f architecture f a website, implementatin, evaluatin and testing f web-based applicatins and prgramming aspects f web develpment (web cntent develpment, markup languages cding, clientside and serve-side applicatin develpment). Tpics include understanding f Web standards, descriptin f basic cmpnents f a website, general principles f web interface design and develpment, use f databases, multimedia, and structure f the interface between a website and the Internet. Scial, ethical and legal issues f web usage (e-cmmerce, scial netwrks, etc.) will als be discussed. Three lecture hurs and three hurs f scheduled labratry per week. Prerequisite(s): ITE100, ITE105 Curse Narrative: The emphasis f this curse is n a thrugh understanding f the architecture, rganizatin and data flw thrugh websites. Students will learn t use markup languages t design web cntent and analyze webbased client-side and server-side applicatins. The curse als cvers methdlgies, standards, techniques, and tls that are used t create websites frm analyzing user s requirements t the creatin f a website. Students will als expand their knwledge n integrating databases with web applicatins, errr handling and validatin f data in web applicatin, understanding web services and web standards. Students will be installing, using and managing pen surce sftware packages and will becme familiar with prpriety sftware related t website develpment. Persnal awareness f their brwsing habits nline wuld be imprved. Labs, included in the curse, allw students t exercise hands-n use f markup languages used t create web pages, use f different multimedia frmats in web cntent, and cnnecting t backed database using web applicatins. In essence, during the labs, students will be learning the cncepts by fllwing the prvided instructins fr hands-n practice prjects at the end f each chapter. At the end f the semester they will have a functinal website with database integratin.
