1 Diamnd Bar, CA Cmprehensive Cmpetency Assessment (CCA) Exams Bachelr students are required t take and pass ne Cmprehensive Cmpetency Assessment (CCA) Exam after successfully cmpleting the Required, Cre, and Elective Curses. The Registrar will infrm the Bachelr candidate during the third week f his/her final curse that they will be registered fr the CCA Exam in the fllwing term upn successful cmpletin f the current term curse. Fr mre details regarding the CCA Exams please see Curse Syllabus. Master and Dctrate students are required t take and pass tw Cmprehensive Cmpetency Assessment (CCA) Exams. The first CCA Exam (CCA1) will cver materials in the Required Curses. The secnd CCA Exam (CCA2) will cver materials in the Emphasis r Elective Curses. Students must successfully pass all Required Curses prir t taking the CCA1 and all Emphasis r Elective Curses prir t taking the CCA2. NOTE: T prepare fr this curse: 1. The Study Guide was designed by industry experts and educatrs frm the materials in the textbk and summarizes the curse cntent. The Study Guide chapters crrespnd t thse chapters in the textbk which are required fr the curse. This is the reasn we recmmend yu dwnlad yur Study Guides fr review fr yur CCA Exams. There are n ther study materials prvided fr the CCA Exam. a. CCA1 Exam - It is recmmended that yu review the Study Guides fr the Required Curses. b. CCA2 Exam - It is recmmended that yu review the Study Guides fr yur Emphasis Curses. Please nte that Master and Dctrate students may nt be able t cntinue t the Dissertatin phase until they have successfully passed the Exams. N degree will be awarded withut successful cmpletin f the required CCA Exams. The CCA Exam is nline, mandatry fr graduatin, nt cunted twards yur GPA, and is a Pass/Fail exam. It cnsists f tw parts: Multiple chice/true r False questins 5 attempts will be allwed during a term. The highest scring attempt will be accepted as yur final grade. Any additinal attempts will incur a $30 fee each and will have a delayed billing by 1-2 mnths. These charges will be seen n yur Student Ledger Card in the Student Prtal. DEGREE PROGRAM DOCTORATE MASTER S BACHELOR MULTIPLE-CHOICE QUESTIONS CCA1 exam will cnsist f 45 questins and is timed fr 2 hurs CCA2 exam will cnsist f 25 questins and is timed fr 1 hur It is a prctred exam CCA1 exam will cnsist f 35 questins and is timed fr 2 hurs CCA2 exam will cnsist f 25 questins and is timed fr 1 hur It is a prctred exam CCA1 exam will cnsist f 45 questins and is timed fr 2 hurs It is a prctred exam Essay Questins The essay prtin f the CCA examinatin fcuses upn yur ability t synthesize learning experiences int cherent critical essays demnstrating knwledge regarding a cntext and writing prmpt. Yu will be ffered five writing prmpts. Yu are t address three f the five essay prmpts. The general guideline is that the average well-thught ut respnse requires abut three t five pages fr Bachelr, five t seven pages fr the Master s, and eight t ten pages fr the Dctrate. This prtin f the exam is nt prctred. Yu will have nly 5 attempts t successfully pass all three essays. Each essay prmpt can be used nly ne time. There are n revisins NOTE: APA Frmat is required. Yur wrk shuld be well structured with use f sectin headings as needed, and easy t fllw. Wrk shuld be riginal. In-text citatins shuld be given t supprt yur wrk, and t give ther authrs due credit. If this is yur first time taking the exam, yu will need t create a free accunt with PrctrU by selecting New Users: Create an Accunt. Hwever, if yu are retaking the exam r taking the CCA 2, please lg int yur accunt with yur username and passwrd. Prir t taking the exam, make sure yu have the prper equipment such as a webcam and micrphne fr the prctring services. Yu can test yur equipment by visiting Technical Requirements n the PrctrU website ( and als visiting Hw t Get Started ( On the date and time f yur exam, please lg in t the PrctrU website t take yur exam. PrctrU will input the passwrd t access the exam. CCA Exam Fees Yur accunt will be charged the $35 exam fee t cver the cst f the initial prctring. Yu will be allwed t retake the exam 5 times during the term. There is a $30 retake fee fr each attempt. Billing fr the first attempt is at registratin. Billings fr all ther attempts are delayed by ne t tw mnths. Shuld yu fail t schedule r miss the exam fr the term, yu will be assigned a failing grade, and charged a $35 rescheduling fee. This failing grade will stay n yur recrd. We strngly recmmend students t take the exam n time.the curse final grade is based n the ttal pints earned acrss the fur assignments.
