9 Chapter 1: Getting Started Meeting Exchange Express Server can be purchased as a turn-key soution. In this configuration, the server is buit and configured by Avaya technicians. Aternatey, sites can choose to insta the Audio Conferencing Software onto hardware that they have purchased separatey that meets the configuration requirements defined in this document. Meeting Exchange Express is fuy integrated with Avaya Communication Process Manger (CPM )2.0. CPM users can create exception conferences in the CPM interface which are managed by Meeting Exchange Express as ad hoc conferences. In addition, Meeting Exchange Express can inform CPM of active conferences on the server using a SIPPING subscribe/notify mechanism. The information in this document guides you through hardware setup, software instaation, and the initia configuration required on the Meeting Exchange Express Server. This information is entered in the Eectronic Preinstaation Worksheets (EPW). The person competing the EPW provides the resuting fies to the Instaer. The server instaation invoves the steps detaied in the foowing chapters. These incude: 1. Obtaining a copy of the Eectronic Preinstaation Worksheets on page 10 (EPW) 2. Configuring Server Hardware on page 39 Important:! Important: If the customer provides the hardware, the hardware must aign with the specifications documented in this chapter. 3. Instaing Meeting Exchange Express on page Instaing the Server On Site on page 25 Eectronic Preinstaation Worksheets Prior to instaing the Meeting Exchange Express Server, coect site specific data. Use this data to popuate the Eectronic Preinstaation Worksheet (EPW). The Configuration EPW coects information used to configure the operation of the audio conferencing server and appication. This EPW coects data for the system, schedued jobs, bridge, routing, key maps, prompts, and reports. Use your browser to access the current version of the Configuration EPW. The atest versions of the EPW are avaiabe on support.avaya.com. The EPWs produce XML fies which are provided to the Instaer. The Instaer uses these fies during the configuration process to import the site data into the administrative web appication. Tips for competing the EPW Use Microsoft InfoPath 2003, a standard component of Microsoft Office 2003, to edit the EPW. Use the context sensitive hep to obtain fied descriptions. 11 Pre-Instaation Checkist Some sections of the configuration can either be added or repaced. When you repace the data, the entered information serves as the new defaut data. Save the fie in xm format. Go to: Fie - Save As - Save as type: xm. Enforcing TLS when configuring SIP Agents Use the foowing guideines when configuring the SIP Agent: Configure the SIP Address according to the transport being used: TCP = sip:6000@ :5060;transport=tcp UDP = sip:6000@ :5060;transport=udp TLS = sips:6000@ :5061;transport=ts When you connect the server with an Avaya Communication Manager, both Communication Manager and the conferencing server have to be configured to use the same sip URI schema. If the Communication Manager is configured to enforce secured SIP, the SIP Agent URI schema is sips to enforce TLS over the ength of the connection. Exampe: sips:75199@ ;transport=ts. The SIP Agent response contact is required when Communication Manager is incuded as part of the Meeting Exchange Express impementation. Downoad the EPW fies from support.avaya.com. License fie The License Fie is not required for instaation. However, the server cannot provide conferencing functionaity without a icense fie. Obtain a icense at rfa.avaya.com. You wi need the customer name, the SAP order number, and the Primary Host ID for the server. For instructions on obtaining the Primary Host ID, see Configuring the Server on page 45. Required hardware The foowing tabe identifies the approved hardware for the Meeting Exchange Express Server. Part numbers are provided for sites that want to purchase hardware independent of the audio conferencing software. X.509 Security Certificate The audio conferencing server supports Transport Layer Security (TLS). API cients who connect to the server via JBoss are required to authenticate to the X.509 certificate that is part of the server instaation. Use the foowing too to generate the pubic-private key, to export an X.509 certificate containing the pubic key for the cients, and to maintain the fie containing the private key on the JBoss server: Set the certificate vaidity period to five years at instaation. Modify the JBoss configuration fies as described in chapter 8 of jboss4guide/r3/adminguide.pdf. See Enforcing TLS when configuring SIP Agents on page 11 for information on configuring Eectronic Pre-Instaation Worksheets with TLS support. Issue 1 May

14 Getting Started Because these are sef-signed certificates, the system ignores the expiration date. However, if a Certificate Authority (CA) is used to sign the certificates, the expiration date is verified during the SSL handshake. 15 Chapter 2: Hardware Options Additiona hardware may be required to integrate the system with switched circuits via externa media processing servers. For new instaations, the AudioCodes Mediant 2000 Gateway server provides TDM support for the De PowerEdge 1950 server. Switched Circuit Integration (optiona) This section presents the hardware features, instaation, and configuration procedures for an optiona AudioCodes Mediant 2000 Gateway server, which enabes the De 1950 Meeting Exchange Express Server to process incoming cas from switched circuit networks. Once the AudioCodes Gateway server is connected to the conferencing server, customers can easiy integrate existing PSTN T1/E1 users into their IP network. Prior versions of Meeting Exchange Express instaed on the IBM 336 server are integrated with an interna AudioCodes TP-260 gateway card to process incoming cas from switched circuit networks. For compete information on the gateway card used with the IBM 336 server, see Avaya Meeting Exchange Express Edition Reease 1.5 Instaation and Configuration Guide, Document number Overview The AudioCodes Mediant 2000 is a SIP-based VoIP media processing server, offering integrated voice functionaity over IP networks. The 2000 server supports up to 300 simutaneous VoIP cas with 10 T1/E1/ISDN connections using two TP-1610 Gateway boards. Issue 1 May

Compete information on instaation and configuration of the AudioCodes Mediant 2000 Gateway server is avaiabe from the manufacturer. Refer to: AudioCodes Mediant 2000 TP-1610 & TP-260/UNI Bades User s Manua Version 5.2, Document #: LTRT Instaing the Mediant 2000 Gateway Server This section describes the instaation procedure for the AudioCodes Mediant 2000 Gateway server. CAUTION: ELECTROSTATIC ALERT:! CAUTION: Instaation of the Gateway server shoud be performed by authorized, quaified persons. ELECTROSTATIC ALERT: Eectronic Components on the printed circuit board are extremey sensitive to static eectricity. To reduce the risk of damage due to eectostatic discharge when instaing or servicing eectronic equipment, it is recommended that anti-static grounding straps and mats be used. Unpacking the Server The Mediant 2000 Gateway Media Server is shipped in a box, aong with the foowing items: Two AC power cabes for the dua AC power suppy 16 Instaing and Configuring Meeting Exchange Express

Important: Retain and process any documents. Foow the procedure in the instaation guide. If you see any physica damage on the server or if parts are missing, contact the manufacturerer for assistance. Mounting the server on a desktop No brackets are required to mount the server on a desktop. You may optionay attach the four anti-side bumpers to the base of the server prior to positioning it on the desktop. Rack mounting the server The preferred method of mounting the server on a 19-inch rack is to pace it on a pre-instaed shef on the rack. The server can aso be attached directy to the rack s frame with the suppied integra brackets. Before rack mounting the server, attach the two brackets to the front sides of the chassis. To attach the brackets: 1. Remove the two screws near the front pane on either side of the server. 2. Aign a bracket over two hoes on one side so that the bracket s arger hoes face front. With the two suppied repacement screws, screw in the bracket. 3. Repeat this procedure on the other side of the server front. Attaching the server to the rack To attach the server to the 19-inch rack foow the steps beow: 1. Position the server in the rack and aign the eft-hand and right-hand bracket hoes to hoes of your choosing in the vertica tracks of the rack. 2. Use standard 19-inch rack bots (not provided) to fasten the server to the frame of the rack. It is recommended that you attach two additiona rear mounting brackets to provide additiona support for the server. Issue 1 May

18 Hardware Options Pacing the server on a shef To pace the server on a shef of the 19-inch rack, foow the steps beow: 1. Pace the server on the preinstaed shef. 2. Fasten the server to the frame of the rack as described in Attaching the server to the rack to prevent it from siding when attaching cabes into the rear pane connectors. CAUTION: CAUTION: Prior to attaching cabes to the Mediant 2000, the server must be permanenty connected to earth with the provided screw on the back of the unit with a AWG wire and a proper ring termina. Foow the steps beow to cabe the Mediant 2000: 1. Permanenty connect the server to earth. 2. Connect the T1/E1 trunk interfaces using RJ-48 connectors. Connect the trunk cabes to the ports abeed Trunks 1 to 8 at the rear of the server. Connect the other ends of the cabes to the PBX/PSTN switch. Foow the instructions for the RJ-48 pinout in the user guide that ships with the server 3. Insta the Ethernet connection with a Category 5 network cabe to the Ethernet RJ-45 port. 4. Optionay connect a second Cat 5 cabe to the second ethernet port for redundancy. 5. Connect the Mediant 2000 RS232 port to your pc with a straight cabe, if desired. Connecting the power suppy The foowing section describes connecting both an AC power suppy and a DC power suppy to the Mediant server. Connecting an AC power suppy Connect the power suppy (or suppies). For a singe AC power cabe, attach one end of the suppied cabe to the rear AC socket and the other to the correct earthed AC power suppy. Issue 1 May

20 Hardware Options For a dua AC power cabe to provide redundancy, attach one end of the suppied cabes to the rear AC sockets and connect the other end to a separate earthed main circuit Connecting a DC power suppy To use a DC termina bock with a screw connector, foow the steps beow: 1. Create a DC cabe by inserting two AWC insuated wires into the suppied adaptor. Fasten the two screws, each one ocated directy above each wire. 2. Connect the two insuated wires to the correct DC power suppy. Ensure that the connections to the DC power suppy maintain the correct poarity. 3. Insert the termina bock into the DC inet ocated on the server. To use a DC termina bock with a crimp connector, foow the steps beow: 1. Remove the screw connection type DC adaptor attached to the rear pane of the server. 2. connect the two insuated wires to the correct DC power suppy. ensure that the connections to the DC power suppoy maintain the correct poarity. 3. Insert the termina bock into the DC inet ocated on the server. Important:! Important: Retain and process any documents. Foow the procedure in the instaation guide. If you see any physica damage on the server or if parts are missing, contact the manufacturer for assistance. Configuring the Gateway In order to configure the AudioCodes Gateway server, you need to connect the server to a aptop or PC with one of the foowing Web browsers: Microsoft Internet Exporer, version 6.0 or ater Netscape Navigator, version 7.2 or ater Mozia Firefox, version or ater Important:! Important: Verify that the media server software is fuy instaed, configured, and tested before you configure the AudioCodes server. 20 Instaing and Configuring Meeting Exchange Express

21 Configuring the Gateway Configuring the AudioCodes Mediant 2000 The foowing section describes the steps to configure the AudioCodes Mediant 2000 Media Gateway to interoperate with both the conferencing server and the PSTN. To configure the AudioCodes server: 1. Open a web browser and enter the foowing: Address of AC Mediant 2000 Media Gateway> 2. Log into the server with the appropriate credentias. 3. Use the AudioCodes Mediant 2000 Web interface to configure and view settings for: Quick Setup Protoco Management. Advanced Configuration Statistics and Diagnostics Software Update Maintenance Quick Setup Use this menu to configure the server s basic settings incuding IP Configuration, Trunk Configuration, and SIP Parameters. Use Quick Setup aso to configure the Te to IP Routing Tabe, Trunk Group Tabe, and the Coders Tabe. 1. If the gateway is connected to a router using NAT, determine the router s pubic IP address. If the IP address is static, enter the IP address in NAT IP Address. Enabe the DMZ configuration on the router for the LAN port where the gateway is connected. 2. Optionay enter the gateway s domain name in the Gateway Name fied. 3. If appicabe, set Working with Proxy to Yes and enter the Proxy IP Address. 4. Optionay enter the Proxy Name. The proxy name wi repace the proxy IP address in a SIP messages. 5. Enabe Registration if the gateway registers to a proxy server/registrar upon start up. 6. Cick the arrow associated with Coders Tabe. Use the Coders Screen to configure coders used with your gateway. List coders in order of preference, starting with the highest priority coder. 7. Cick the arrow associated with Te to IP Routing Tabe. Use the Te to IP Routing Screen to route incoming teephone cas to IP addresses. Issue 1 May

22 Hardware Options 8. Cick the arrow associated with Trunk Group Tabe. Use the Trunk Group Tabe Screen to configure E1/T1 B channes. 9. Cick the Reset button and cick OK at the prompt. The gateway appies the changes and restarts. 10. Once the gateway resets, seect Advanced Configuration > Trunk Settings. Seect the gateway s E1/T1 protoco type and the Framing method that meets your system requirements. For E1 spans, aways seect Extended Super Frame. The gateway server is ready to use with the basic settings configured as shown. To configure more advanced settings, go to Protoco Management. Protoco Management. To administer the gateway s SIP parameters and tabes in greater detai, seect Protoco Management. 24 Hardware Options Sysog Messages To write sysog messages from the Mediant 2000 to the Meeting Exchange Express sysog server: 1. Log into the Mediant 2000 web interface. 2. Navigate to Advanced Configuration > Network Settings. 3. Enter the IP of the conferencing server in Sysog Server IP Address. 4. Enabe sysogging. 5. Cick Submit. 6. Verify that ogs are being recorded on the conferencing server: /var/og/messages Sysogs from the conferencing server are overwritten to prevent them from using arge amounts of disk space. Large numbers of sysogs from the Mediant 2000 server coud affect conferencing performance. Statistics and Diagnostics Use this menu to monitor Gateway Statistics, Message Logs, Device Information, Etheret Port Information, and Performance Statistics. Software Update Use Software Update to upgrade the gateway server s software by oading a new cmp fie aong with the ini fie and severa auxiiary fies. 25 Chapter 3: Instaing the Server On Site The Meeting Exchange Express Server is buit and configured prior to deivery to a site. On-site setup is a simpe process. First side the server into the rack and secure connections, then connect any periphera devices and communication ports. Eectrostatic Discharge (ESD) Precautions If the repacement of any system board is required, you must adhere to industry-standard ESD precautions. When repairing equipment in the fied, the minimum equipment necessary for ESD protection is: Anti-static conductive mat with grounding cabe. Wrist strap with grounding cabe. ESD protective storage bags or other suitabe containers. Site Requirements Before beginning the instaation, verify the information on the Site Survey as described in Chapter 1: Getting Started. Unpacking Before beginning instaation, identify and inventory a equipment received and verify that a needed items are avaiabe. Lift the reease ever on the rotating mounting bracket. b. Rotate the bracket and side it off the shouder standoffs. c. Continue to rotate the bracket 180 degrees unti you can set the notches back over the shouder standoffs. d. Pace the rai modue against the side of the system to insert the shouder screws into the keyhod sots. Side the modue toward the back of the system. c. Repeat the steps above to insta the other rai modue. 5. Insta the mounting rais on the rack. Rapid Mounting Rais Instaation is described beow: a. At the front of the rack, position one of the mounting rais so that the mounting bracket fange fits between the marks that you made on the vertica rais in Step 2. Insta the system into the rack. Instaation of a system with siding rais is described beow: a. Pu the two inner side rais out of the rack unti they are fuy extended. b. Pace the system into position above the extended side rais. c. Lower the back of the system whie aigning the back shouder screws on the sides of the system with the back J-sots on the side assembies. d. Side the back shouder screws into their respective J-sots. e. Lower the front of the system and side the midde and front screws into the J-sots on the side assembies. The system reease atch at the front of the inner side rai wi snap back as the shouder screw sides into the front sot. Use this reease atch to remove the system when necessary. f. Press the side reease atch on either side of the system to side it into the rack. g. Insta the cabe management arm. 1. Insta the tray - At the back of the system, fit the ends of the tray between the ends of the mounting rais and side the tray forward unti it is secure. - Press the catch at the center of the cabe management arm retention atch and rotate the atch downward. 2. Insta the cabe management arm - Press the catch at the center of atch on the tray and rotate the atch downward. - At the back of the system, fit the atch at the front of the cabe management arm onto the innermost bracket on the side assemby unti the atch is secured. - Fit the atch on the unattached end of the cabe management arm onto the outermost bracket on the side assemby unti the atch is secured. h. Tighten the thumbscrews on the rack front pane to secure the side assembies 7. Repace the rack doors. Issue 1 May

Route the cabes through the cabe management arm baskets. 6. 35 Connecting the System 7. Secure the bunded cabes in the cabe management arm channe with the tie wraps ocated at the inner end and hinge point of the cabe management arm channe. 8. Cose the cabe basket id. 9. Unscrew the thumbscrews at the front vertica rai. 10. Verify the cabes are routed correcty and do not interfere with the movement of the cabe management arm by siding the server back and forth in the rack. 11. Side the system back into the rack. 12. Lift the cabe management arm retention atch on the tray to secure the arm. Instaing the KVM Switch and Appication Servers The optiona KVM switch and hardware servers must be instaed in an IT stye rack (front/rear mounting rais). See Chapter 2: Hardware Options on page 15 for detaied information on instaing the AudioCodes Mediant 2000 Gateway Server. Important:! Important: If a KVM switch is used, the hardware server must be instaed cose enough to the Meeting Exchange Express components for the KVM cabes to reach. If chassis sides are incuded, pease refer to the instructions incuded with the sides. Before instaing, unpack and verify the physica condition of the KVM switch and hardware servers. Contact audio conferencing support if any discrepancies are found. Connecting the System Important:! Important: DO NOT connect power to the system unti a hardware has been mounted to racks or otherwise paced in service ocations. Power Connections The Meeting Exchange Express Server uses dua AC power feeds. For redundant operation, connect each cord to a separate circuit. 39 Chapter 4: Instaing Meeting Exchange Express When the customer purchases a turn-key soution, the Meeting Exchange Express software is instaed on the Meeting Exchange Express Server prior to deivery. However, when the hardware was purchased independenty from the software, use the procedure in this chapter to insta the Linux operating system and audio conferencing software on the media server. Meeting Exchange Express is the officia name for the conferencing server. It is aso known as Crysta. Process Overview The Meeting Exchange Express Server requires audio conferencing software. The software can ony be instaed on a server that meets the specifications described in Chapter 4: Configuring Server Hardware on page 39. Important:! Important: When instaing an Meeting Exchange Express Server that was preoaded with the conferencing software, you can skip to the procedures in Configuring the network, manuay on page 55. Once the hardware is ready, foow these procedures to insta the software: 1. Preparing the Service Laptop invoves setting the network interface on the aptop and connecting the service aptop to the server. 2. Instaing the Audio Conferencing Software guides you through each screen of the instaation software, incuding Loading the Audio Conferencing Software and Configuring the Server. 3. Configuring the Server invoves Using Meeting Exchange Express as Insta Engineer to import the site configuration and verify the server configuration. Issue 1 May

40 Instaing Meeting Exchange Express Preparing the Service Laptop Use the procedures in this section to prepare the service aptop to insta the audio conferencing software. Preparing the aptop for crossover to server To prepare the service aptop for crossover to the server, set the network interface on the aptop to these vaues: IP Address: Subnet Mask: If you enter an IP Address and the service aptop cannot connect to the server, cear the Address Resoution Protoco (ARP) cache on the aptop before entering a new IP address. Use this procedure to cear the ARP cache on the aptop: 1. Cick Start > Run to open the Run diaog box. 2. Type command and cick OK to open a MS-DOS Command Line window. 3. Type arp -d and press Enter to cear the Address Resoution Protoco (ARP) cache in the aptop. The system dispays either: The command ine prompt when the cache is ceared. The phrase: The specified entry was not found. This phrase shows when the specified IP address does not currenty appear in the ARP cache. Accessing the media server Set switch ports to 100 mb Fu Dupex for server connection.. If the server is to be connected to a Gigabyte switch, set the server switch ports to match the network setting. 41 Preparing the Service Laptop Compete these steps to access the media server: 1. Use a cross connect cabe to connect the aptop to the services port [Eth1] on the back of the media server, as shown in Figure Pug in the ethernet connections as shown in Figure 8. The NIC faiover functionaity requires at east two interfaces connected to one or more network switches on the same subnet. Configuring Tenet for Windows 2000/XP Use a tenet session to access the information on the DVD. You can configure the Microsoft Tenet appication to send a carriage return (CR) and ine feed (LF) whenever you press Enter. The instaation program interprets this as two key presses. When you run Windows 2000/XP, you need to correct this before you copy the Remaster Program to the hard disk drive. To configure tenet for Windows 2000/XP, perform the foowing steps: 1. Cick Start > Run to open the Run diaog box. Issue 1 May

42 Instaing Meeting Exchange Express 2. Type tenet and press Enter to open a Microsoft Tenet session. 3. Type dispay and press Enter to see the current settings. The system dispays, Causes return key to send CR & LF. 4. Type unset crf and press Enter. The system dispays the message, Causes return key to send CR. You are now ready to use Tenet to connect to the audio conferencing server. Instaing the Audio Conferencing Software After connecting a devices, insta the required software on the audio conference server by competing these steps: 1. Turning on the media server on page Loading the Audio Conferencing Software on page Configuring the Server on page 45 Turning on the media server To turn on the media server: 1. Pace the DVD with the conferencing software in the DVD drive on the media server. Important: Immediatey insert the DVD in the drive Watch the monitor as the system boots. The system dispays a message, containing the bios version. Review this message carefuy. This reease requires these BIOS versions: System Bios = 1.11 or higher SCSI Bios = MPTBios-IME Network Bios = NetExtreme v.7.6.6! Important: Bios is preconfigured. 43 Instaing the Audio Conferencing Software Loading the Audio Conferencing Software This section identifies the procedure to oad the audio conferencing software onto the Meeting Exchange Express Server. Use a tenet session to access the information on the DVD. 1. Start a tenet session according to the procedure in Configuring Tenet for Windows 2000/ XP on page Use the tenet session to open a connection to the audio conferencing server. 3. Enter this command at the tenet prompt: open Press Enter to view the first software instaation screen: What do you want to do? The hard drive is currenty Partitioned Choose One <X> InstaInsta of Upgrade Software < > SheBoot to Rescue Bash She < > InstaReboot the server < OK > To navigate instaation screens, use the arrow keys to move to an option and press the space bar to seect the option. Press Enter to submit the screen. 5. Type x in the parenthesis () next to the Insta option. 6. Seect OK. If the system contained an earier reease of the audio conferencing software, the system dispays a Warning that this instaation wi remove a prior data. 7. Seect Yes. The instaation program dispays the Seect Reease Version screen. The software version (buid number) wi vary. The instaer is responsibe for seecting the correct version. 8. Seect OK. The instaation program prompts you to set the date and time: Issue 1 May

If you seect a time zone that is not isted beow, you must run a sq script post instaation. For more information on timezone seection, see the Meeting Exchange Express Reease 2.0 Service Pack 1 Administration and Maintenance Guide. 9. Seect Yes. The instaation program prompts you to initiaize the date and time: a. Use Tab to seect the Date and Time fieds. b. Set the Timezone setting. c. Set the NTP Server fied. If the NTP Server information is not avaiabe, eave the fied bank. d. Seect OK. The instaation program dispays Set IPAaddress for NIC(s) prompt: 10. Seect Yes if the IP information for the site is avaiabe at this time. The instaation program dispays the Configure Network Information screen. The Interface names correspond to the physica ports (see Figure 8: Ethernet Connections. on page 41). The instaation program dispays this message: The instaation process can take up to twenty minutes. Once the instaation competes, the system momentariy dispays a message showing the instaed buid number. After the system dispays the message, the server automaticay ejects the DVD and the server initiaizes.! Important: The server can take up ten minutes to initiaize. During this time the system is configured with a firewa and other security mechanisms, so the Meeting Exchange Express can ony be accessed through HTTPs or SSH. Licensing the Server After the server reinitiaizes, configure a icense for Meeting Exchange Express. For icensing information, see Meeting Exchange Express 2.0 Service Pack 1 Administration and Maintenance Guide. Configuring the Server The most efficient way to configure the system is Using Meeting Exchange Express as Insta Engineer. Use the web interface to import the Eectronic Pre-Instaation Worksheets. Important:! Important: If the network information was not avaiabe when the EPWs were competed, manuay configure the system. 59 Restarting the Meeting Exchange Express Server Rebooting the server The most straightforward way to restart the Meeting Exchange Express Server is to simpy reboot the bridge. System reboot takes approximatey three minutes, during which time the system is unusabe. Using ipcb to restart the server The quickest, and east disruptive, way to restart the Meeting Exchange Express Server is by starting ipcb. 1. Log on to the bridge using SSH (via PuTTY). 2. Enter the foowing command: sudo c restart ipcb This takes ten seconds to recover. Non-voice services, such as the web interface and the database are not disrupted and remain usabe. Issue 1 May

Use the ipinfo command to verify that the conference opened and that the caers are present in the conference. One caer is present as moderator, the other as participant. 8. Verify that each caer can be heard when he speaks in the conference. 9. Initiate the mute and unmute DTMF from the moderator and the participant. Verify the mute status of each by speaking into the conference. Use the ipinfo command to verify your findings. 10. Disconnect both participants and verify that the system drops the cas. 11. Pace a ca into the system using an IP phone and enter the conference with the participant passcode. 12. In most environments this networking is in a secure environment using Transport Layer Security (TLS). Meeting Exchange Express successfuy operates with teephony gateways provided by other vendors. This chapter describes ony the basic configuration information for instaing Meeting Exchange Expresss with Avaya Communication Manager. Add a Node Name for the Meeting Exchange Express by entering change node-name IP. This vaue is the SES. Enter the Meeting Exchange Express name and IP in the tabe. 2. Seect a CLAN or G700 for connection to the Meeting Exchange Express. Note its node-name. If this is a smaer Communication Manager system such as the 8300, note the name of the processor board. 3. Add one or two signaing groups. Enter add signaing-group next. For each Signaing Group, set the: Group Type to sip Transport Name to TCP, UDP, or TLS. In order to make the connection UDP or TCP, you need superuser rights. Near-end Node Name to vaue set in step 2, i.e. CLAN. This vaue is resoved through the hosts fie on the Communication Manager. Far-end Node Name to the name of the Meeting Exchange Express isted in step 1. This vaue is resoved through the hosts fie on the Communication Manager. 75 Chapter 6: Backup and Restore It is the responsibiity of the customer to maintain backups of Meeting Exchange Express. This section describes how to insta the system Backup and Restore scripts. Externa Media System command ine utiities aow you to access the foowing supported externa media devices: Addonics A in One Compact Fash Reader Externa USB 2.0 hard drives The system detects an externa media device connected via a USB port as /dev/sdb If more than one USB storage device is connected to the system at any one time, then the device may be at a different ocation than /dev/sdb. The ocation can be verified by checking the contents of /var/og/messages. This fie ogs the ocation of externa USB devices. Mounting externa media When an externa media device is connected to the system via USB, it is detected by the system, but is not mounted as a part of the fiesystem. The system supports the foowing 3 types of fie system: ext2: inux fiesystem ext3: inux fiesystem vfat: windows fat fiesystem In order to mount the externa media, enter one of the foowing commands, depending on the fie system type with which the externa media was formatted: mount -t vfat /dev/sdb /mnt/fash mount -t ext2 /dev/sdb /mnt/fash mount -t ext3 /dev/sdb /mnt/fash Issue 1 May

Unmounting externa media Use the command beow to unmount the externa device prior to physicay disconnecting it from the system: WARNING: umount /mnt/fash If the externa device is physicay disconnected from the system before it is unmounted, the data on the device may be corrupted. Nighty database backup The foowing script performs nighty backups of the database to the directory /var/dbbackup/etc/cron.daiy/backup-database-cron This cronjob ensures that the very atest data in crysta_database is contained in the backup set. The cronjob is ocated in the foowing directory: /home/craft/backup-database-cron By defaut, the 30 most recent copies of crysta_database are stored at any time. The cronjob runs, by defaut, at 3:00 AM each night. This scripts automates the backup of the crysta database backup set: You can edit the script to to make an automated nighty backup of other backup sets. Backups consist of a tar.gz fie in the foowing naming format: crysta_database_<hostname>_<time>_<date>.tar.gz Od database backups are purged nighty using the script: /etc/cron.daiy/purge-backup-database-cron Nighty cronjobs parameters are configurabe. You can edit the scripts to change the time of the backups and the number of daiy fies to be retained. By defaut, the backup-database-cron cronjob saves the backup fie to a oca directory. Generate a pubic/private key pair with a nu password using the foowing command: ssh-keygen -t rsa -N "" -f ~/.ssh/id_rsa The system outputs a private key (id_rsa) and a pubic key (id_rsa.pub) to /home/ craft.ssh. 3. Avaya recommends restoring fies in the foowing situations: If an upgrade fais If an upgrade causes data corruption or data oss If core software processes become unusabe and cannot be recovered If software becomes corrupted To restore a database backup, you require a Digita Versatie Disc (DVD) with the correct ISO image of the buid version. Unfortunatey, due to the size of the software, it does not fit on to a conventiona compact disc (CD). You aso require a backup fie (tar.gz) for the Meeting Exchange Express database. 1. Insta the Meeting Exchange Express Reease 2.0 Service Pack 1 DVD and foow the instaation instructions shown in Upgrade Procedure on page Transfer the backup fie to the Meeting Exchange Express Edtion server. Use SCP protoco or an appication such as WinSCP. 3. Restore the fies: sudo opt/coreservices/backup/sbin/backup -r -d /<backup_dest>/ <backup fie> crysta_database -p / This command restores the database from the backup fie <backup fie> in the oca directory, which is caed <backup_dest>. ISO image This requires remote command access to Meeting Exchange Express over secure she protoco (SSH) using an appication such as PuTTy as we as remote fie transfer access to it over secure copy (SCP) using an appication such as WinSCP. - Downoad PuTTy at: - Downoad WinSCP at: Prepare the Server for Upgrade 1. Log in to the server with craft using an SSH termina utiity such as PuTTy or on the system consoe. ( 2. Therefore, the first step in the upgrade process is to determine what software reeases are currenty in the disk s repository and remove any unnecessary ones to free up space for the new one. The Conference Scheduer pug-in for Microsoft Outook has two instaation options: You can run the cient set-up for the Conference Scheduer pug-in for Microsoft Outook on each User s computer. After set-up, the assembies needed for the pug-in reside on the User s computer. For more information, see Manua Instaation on page 94. You can sienty push the Conference Scheduer pug-in for Microsoft Outook software to your network using a technoogy such as Systems Management Server (SMS) or Tivoi. The cient set-up instas a the fies and registry entries that the Conference Scheduer pug-in for Microsoft Outook requires. It aso sets the.net security poicy to enabe Microsoft Outook to run the pug-in. It is a standaone set-up, which is suited to a oca instaation scenario. Removes the registry entries for OutookConferenceScheduer. Users runs the un-insta using the Add/Remove Programs feature in the Windows Contro Pane. The un-insta does not remove the pre-requisites for the Conference Scheduer pug-in for Microsoft Outook. The Downoad Web Page The defaut server configuration provides a Web page at the foowing URL: In this URL, server_ip refers to the IP address of the audio conferencing server. This web page inks users to the instaation wizard for the Conference Scheduer pug-in for Microsoft Outook 2003 and Figure 14 shows the Web page.
