1 How to Professionally Brand Receipts Using the TSP100 and futureprnt Did you ever think that purchasing a POS printer would directly affect an increase in sales and returning customers? This document explains how to use the futureprnt Configuration Utility to customize your receipts with logo, coupon, and watermark graphics. After running the TSP100 s Installation CD found in the box, the futureprnt Configuration Utility can be accessed by clicking the Windows Start button and navigating Programs > StarMicronics > Star TSP100 > Configuration Utility. 2 Adding Images to the Image List 1. Save the logo, coupon, and watermark images on the PC and open the futureprnt Configuration Utility. 2. Select Image List in the left hand menu bar.

3 3. Click the Add New button. 4. Browse to the location of the logo image and click Open.

4 5. A preview of the image is displayed along with tools for customization. 6. Enter a unique image name for easy identification. If necessary, the width can also be adjusted by clicking the scroll bar or entering a value in the text box. 7. If desired, select a different dither method to change the look of the image. 8. Adjust the black, white, and transparency levels as desired. When configuring a merge image, set the transparency to a high value to ensure it is light enough for the text on the receipt to be seen.

5 9. Click the Test Print button and the TSP100 will print out the graphic. If its appearance is acceptable, click the Use Image button. 10. The image will now appear in the Image List. When the image name is clicked on, it will appear in the Preview frame and display its size. 11. Add the rest of the images. There is no limitation on the number of graphics that can be used.

6 Assigning Images as a Logo, Coupon, or Watermark 1. Select Logos & Cropping in the left hand menu bar. 2. To assign a logo, click the Add button next to the Top Image List section.

7 3. Select the logo image from the list that appears. Choose the desired alignment and click the Use button. 4. The logo image will now appear in the Top Image List. This graphic will print on the top of every receipt. 5. To assign a coupon, click the Add button next to the Bottom Image List section.

8 6. Select a coupon from the list that appears. Choose the desired alignment and click the Use button. 7. The coupon will now appear in the Bottom Image List. This image will print on the bottom of the receipt. 8. If available, add the rest of the coupons to the Bottom Image List. 9. To the right of the bottom image list field, there is a dropdown box with the option to cycle or print all. Cycle is set by default and will print one image on the bottom of each receipt. Using the above example, if a receipt is printed, the coupon named CouponDessert will print. When the next receipt is printed, the coupon named CouponNachos will print, the next CouponDrink, and so on. Selecting the Print All option will print every coupon in the list on every receipt. In this case, Print All would result in four coupons printed on one receipt.

9 10. To set the watermark, click the Select button next to the Merge Image field. 11. Select the watermark from the list and click Use. 12. The watermark image will now appear in the Merge Image field. Beneath it is a checkbox reading Include logos and coupons when merging. When checked, the watermark will appear behind the text and can be seen through the logo and coupon images. When unchecked, it will only appear behind the text, and not the logo and coupon images. 13. Click Apply Changes at the bottom. Congratulations! You ve professionally branded your receipts with custom images using the futrureprnt Configuration Utility! 10 The Lucky Shopper Promotion The lucky shopper promotion is almost like setting up a lottery in your store, only when your customer wins YOU also win with more business in the future! The cycle option for bottom images allows you to run a lucky shopper promotion with the creation of just two coupon graphics. As an example, you can create one image reading 5% Off Your Next Purchase. The second image can read 20% Off Your Next Purchase. In the futureprnt Configuration Utility, upload both images to the Image List and go to the Logos & Cropping tab. Decide how frequently you would like to offer 20% off to customers. For this example, a 20% off coupon will be offered to one in every four customers. Add the 5% off coupon three times in the bottom image list, as shown above. Add 20% off as the fourth entry. Ensure Cycle is selected and click Apply Changes at the bottom of the window. Now customers one, two, and three will receive a 5% off coupon and every fourth customer will receive a 20% off coupon. There is no limit on how many images can be assigned in the Top or Bottom image lists. The lucky shopper could be one in twenty, one in fifty, one in one hundred, or even higher!
