Cnfiguratins In rder t use DcAve EMC Dcumentum Migratr, the DcAve 6 platfrm must be installed and cnfigured prperly n yur farm. DcAve EMC Dcumentum Migratr will nt functin withut DcAve 6 present n the farm. T review a list f migratin surce versins and systems supprted by DcAve Migratr, refer t Appendix C: Migratin Surce Envirnment in the DcAve 6 Installatin Guide. Agents DcAve Agents are respnsible fr running DcAve jbs and interacting with the SharePint bject mdel. DcAve Agents enable DcAve Manager t cmmunicate with the respective servers, allwing fr DcAve EMC Dcumentum Migratr cmmands t functin prperly. *Nte: The use f system resurces n a server increases when the installed agent is perfrming actins. This may affect server perfrmance. Hwever, if the agent installed n a server is nt being used, the use f system resurces is very lw and, therefre, the effect n server perfrmance is negligible. Required Permissins fr the Destinatin: Migratin t SharePint On- Premises T install and use DcAve EMC Dcumentum Migratr n the SharePint n-premises envirnment prperly, ensure that the destinatin Agent accunt has the fllwing permissins. 1. Lcal System Permissins: The permissins are autmatically cnfigured by DcAve during the installatin. Refer t Lcal System Permissins fr a list f the permissins autmatically cnfigured upn installatin. If there are n strict limitatins within yur rganizatin n the permissins that can be applied, yu can simply add the DcAve Agent Accunt t the lcal Administratrs grup t apply all f the required permissins. 2. SharePint n-premises Permissins: These permissins must be manually cnfigured prir t using DcAve 6 EMC Dcumentum Migratr; they are nt autmatically cnfigured. User is a member f the Farm Administratrs grup. Since Administratr wrks acrss farms and n all SharePint settings and cnfiguratins, this accunt is needed in rder t prvide the best and mst cmplete quality f service. Full Cntrl t all znes f all Web applicatins via User Plicy fr Web applicatins Managed Metadata Service Term Stre Administratr Managed Metadata Service Administratr with Full Cntrl Permissin 3. SQL Permissins: These permissins must be manually cnfigured prir t using DcAve 6 EMC Dcumentum Migratr; they are nt autmatically cnfigured. Member has the Database Rle f db_wner in all f the databases related t SharePint, including Cntent Databases, SharePint Cnfiguratin Database, and Central Admin Database, and DcAve Migratin database. This machine must have netwrk cnnectin r have cnfigured Agent Prxy Settings. Fr mre infrmatin abut Agent Prxy Settings, refer t the Cntrl Panel Reference Guide. Fr the registered SharePint n-premises site cllectins, the Agent accunt is n the Agent machine that will run migratin jbs. This machine must be the Central Administratin server r ne f the Web frnt-end servers f the farm where the registered site cllectins reside, r the machine that can cmmunicate with the Central Administratin server r ne f the Web frnt-end servers. The Agent accunt must have prper Lcal System permissins. These permissins are autmatically cnfigured by DcAve during installatin. 13 Specify a use in the cnnectinstring nde in this Web applicatin s web.cnfig prfile that has the access t this database. Fr details, refer t the instructins belw: i. Navigate t Start > Administrative Tls > Server Manager > Rles > Web Server (IIS) > Internet Infrmatin Services (IIS) Manager, find the desired Web applicatin in the Sites list. i. Right-click the desired Web applicatin and select Explre. ii. Find the web.cnfig file in the pp-up windw. iii. Open the web.cnfig file with Ntepad. iv. Find the cnnectinstring nde and specify a user that has access t the database that stres FBA security infrmatin. Migratin Speed Cnsideratins Speed is a very imprtant factr when migrating cntent. In rder t estimate hw lng yur migratin plans will take, the fllwing key factrs shuld be taken int cnsideratin prir t running yur migratin plans. Cnsider a granular migratin apprach. Size f bjects in surce The smaller the size f the surce bject, the faster the migratin jb will run. Cmplexity f flders and sites Priritize cntent t be migrated int SharePint, and utilize tls t establish c-existence thrughut the curse f the migratin prject t slwly rll-ut SharePint t users as their cntent becmes available. 15 Getting Started Refer t the sectins belw fr imprtant infrmatin n getting started with EMC Dcumentum Migratin. Launching DcAve EMC Dcumentum Migratin T launch EMC Dcumentum Migratin and access its functinality, cmplete the fllwing steps: 1. Lg int DcAve. If yu are already in the sftware, click the DcAve tab. The DcAve tab displays all prduct suites n the left side f the windw. 2. Click Migratin t view all f the Migratin mdules. 3. Click EMC Dcumentum Migratin t launch that mdule. *Nte: Yu can access the License Usage infrmatin fr Migratr prducts frm the Migratin landing page. Figure 1: DcAve mdule launch windw. AvePint recmmends using Health Analyzer t check the prerequisites yu need t crrectly use DcAve EMC Dcumentum Migratin. *Nte: Only the users in the DcAve Administratrs grup can use Health Analyzer. 15

16 *Nte: When creating health analyzer prfiles, DcAve EMC Dcumentum Migratin recmmends creating tw different prfiles t scan the surce Agent and the destinatin Agent separately. After selecting EMC Dcumentum Migratin as the mdule, all f the scan rules are selected by default, including the rules fr the surce envirnment and the rules fr the destinatin envirnment. When the health analyzer jb is finished, yu can view the health analyzer results. If the scan rule is fr the destinatin envirnment, but it is applied n the surce envirnment, ignre the errr r warning, and vice versa. Launching EMC Dcumentum High Speed Migratin T launch EMC Dcumentum High Speed Migratin and access its functinality, click High Speed Migratin in the Plan grup n the ribbn f the EMC Dcumentum Migratin mdule. 17 Navigating DcAve DcAve mimics the lk and feel f many Windws prducts, making fr an intuitive and familiar wrking envirnment. While there are many windws, pp-up displays, and messages within DcAve prducts, they share similar features and are navigated in the same ways. Belw is a sample windw in DcAve. It features a familiar, dynamic ribbn, and a searchable, cntent list view. Figure 2: Navigating DcAve. 1. Ribbn Tabs Allws users t navigate t the DcAve Welcme page and within the active mdule. 2. Ribbn Panes Allws users t access the functinality f the active DcAve mdule. 3. Manage clumns ( ) Allws users t manage which clumns are displayed in the list. Click the manage clumns ( ) buttn, and then select the checkbx next t the clumn name in the drp-dwn list. 4. Filter the clumn ( ) Allws users t filter the infrmatin in the List View. Click the filter the clumn ( ) buttn next t the clumn and then select the checkbx next t the clumn name. 5. Hide the clumn ( ) Allws users t hide the selected clumn. 6. Search Allws users t search the List View pane fr a keywrd r phrase. An EMC Dcumentum High Speed Online Migratin jb migrates cntent, cnfiguratins, securities, and users frm EMC Dcumentum t SharePint Online with high efficiency when a netwrk between the surce and destinatin is available. Cnfiguring Azure Lcatins (fr High Speed Migratins nly) A Micrsft Azure lcatin is used t stage migratin data when imprting t SharePint Online and OneDrive fr Business. In the event that the specified migratin database cllapses, the data stred in the Migratin database can be transferred t this standby database. When yu select Add a Repsitry Mapping, yu can als create a new repsitry level permissin by clicking New EMC Dcumentum Permissin. Cabinet/Flder Level Map the EMC Dcumentum permissins n the cabinet/flder level, yu can chse the default SharePint permissin levels, r previusly created SharePint permissin levels, r yu can directly create a new SharePint permissin level by clicking New SharePint Permissin Level frm the drp-dwn menu. When yu select Add a Cabinet/Flder Mapping, yu can als create a new cabinet/flder level permissin by clicking New EMC Dcumentum Permissin. Dcument Level Map the EMC Dcumentum permissins n the dcument level, yu can chse the default SharePint permissin levels, r previusly created SharePint permissin levels, r yu can directly create a new SharePint permissin level by clicking New SharePint Permissin Level frm the drp-dwn menu. When yu select Add a Dcument Mapping, yu can als create a new dcument level permissin by clicking New EMC Dcumentum Permissin. If yu want t map the surce custmized permissins t SharePint, yu can create EMC Dcumentum permissins in DcAve depending n the surce permissins. 3. Click OK t save the cnfiguratins and return t the Permissin Mapping interface, r click Cancel t return t Permissin Mapping interface withut saving any changes. EMC Dcumentum Permissins Yu can manage EMC Dcumentum permissins by creating a new EMC Dcumentum permissin, viewing details f the existing EMC Dcumentum permissins, editing a previusly cnfigured EMC Dcumentum permissin, r deleting previusly cnfigured EMC Dcumentum permissins. 35

In a migratin prfile, if dynamic rules cnflict with the cnfigured clumn mapping, dynamic rules take ver the rle f clumn mapping. Select Save and replace the existing main prfile t replace the riginal prfile. Otherwise, it is saved withut remving the riginal prfile. Migratin Optins Cnfigure the settings in Migratin Optins t specify hw t migrate the cntent and the security t SharePint. Set up a sub-prfile f Migratin Optins by the fllwing steps. 1. Frm the Hme tab, in the Prfile Manager grup, click Prfile Settings. The Prfile Settings tab appears. 2. Click Migratin Optins n the left-hand pane, and frm the Prfile Settings tab, under the Subprfile grup, click Edit Sub-prfile t make the Migratin Optins field active. 3. Frm the Prfile Setting tab, under the Prfile/Sub-prfile grup, click New. 4. Enter a sub-prfile name in the pp-up windw and click OK. 5. Click the Cntent tab t cnfigure the fllwing settings. Managed Path If the destinatin nde is a Web applicatin, the site cllectins will be created under this Web applicatin when migrating the surce data. The value entered in the Custmized a managed path textbx and the site template selected frm the Site 41

42 template drp-dwn list are the managed path and the site template fr the newly created site cllectin. Yu are allwed t enter the site template ID in the Site template textbx t specify a desired site template. Yu can als select a language fr this newly created site cllectin frm the Site language drp-dwn list. *Nte: The Managed Path setting is nt available fr EMC Dcumentum High Speed Migratin. Navigatin Optins Chse navigatin design ptins fr destinatin newly generated sites when perfrming the migratin. Display the site n the tp link bar f the parent site when creating a site Display the site n the Quick Launch f the parent site when creating a site Inherit tp link bar f the parent site when creating a site *Nte: The Navigatin Optins setting is nt available fr EMC Dcumentum High Speed Migratin. Dcument Migratin Cnfigure the settings fr the dcument migratin. Migrate rt files t a dcument library When the surce nde is a cabinet nde, selecting this ptin will migrate the rt files that are under the cabinet t a specified SharePint dcument library. If yu select this ptin, custmize the library name by entering a name in the text bx. Rt Dcuments is prvided as a default dcument library name. If yu d nt select this ptin, the rt files under the cabinet will nt be migrated t the destinatin. Migrate incmpatible versin numbers Since EMC Dcument use the cncept f Branch Versin which is nt supprted in SharePint, yu can use this ptin t specify hw t migrate the surce versins. Select the checkbx t migrate all surce versins. The surce versins will be changed after the migratin by using the SharePint versin frmat: surce majr versin remains the same; fr each majr versin, its minr versin and branch versin becme the destinatin minr versin. View the example belw: Surce Versin Destinatin Versin Deselect the checkbx t nly migrate surce majr and minr versins t destinatin and the migrated majr and minr versins remain the same. Select Dcument Set t migrate a surce snapsht t a destinatin dcument set. The virtual dcument and each child, cntained in this snapsht, are migrated t the dcument set and the versin histry is kept. Select Flder t migrate a surce snapsht t a destinatin flder. The virtual dcument and each child, cntained in this snapsht, are migrated t the flder and the versin histry is kept. Renditin Migratin - Specify hw t migrate with the surce renditins. Select Migrate renditin t dcument set t migrate a surce file and all its added renditins t a destinatin dcument set. DcAve migrates desired versins (all versins, majr versins, r majr and minr versins, which are decided by the selectin f the Migrate incmpatible versin numbers ptin and yur surce data s current versin) f this surce file t be the versins f the destinatin dcument set. When this ptin is selected, there are tw pssible results f a migratin jb: If the linked flder r dcument and its surce are migrated in the same migratin jb, the destinatin item prvides the link fr the destinatin SharePint bject f the crrespnding surce flder r dcument. If a linked flder r dcument and its surce are nt migrated t the destinatin in the same migratin jb, nly the surce bject s ID will be stred in the destinatin item s URL. Additinally, yu can als update the links by selecting the Update previusly migrated links ptin. Flder Structure Management Chse a methd f structuring flders while migrating EMC Dcumentum flders t SharePint. If yu select a library r flder nde as the destinatin, chse either f the fllwing flder structuring methds: Cllapse all the flder structure Migrate all f the files within the surce flders t the destinatin libraries r flders directly, breaking the flder structures. T track the riginal flder structure, select the Add a clumn t keep the surce path/parent flder name ptin and then select the Surce path ptin t add a clumn fr keeping the surce path f the flder, r select the Parent flder name ptin t add a clumn fr keeping the parent flder name f the migrated cntent. Create a tp-level flder n the destinatin Create tp level flders fr cntaining the migrated EMC Dcumentum cntent in the destinatin after the migratin, and preserve the surce flder structures under the tp level flders. By default this checkbx is selected. If deselect this checkbx, the surce cntent will be migrated t the destinatin withut the tp level flders created, but preserving the surce flder structure. If yu select a site as the destinatin nde, a library with the same name as the surce tp-level flder will be created in the destinatin site. Use the Cllapse all the flder structure ptin t break the surce flder structure under the newly created library. 44

45 T break the surce flder structure, select the Cllapse all the flder structure ptin. All f the files within the surce flder will be migrated t the newly created library directly, therefre, breaking the surce flder structure. T preserve the surce flder structure in the newly created library, deselect the Cllapse all the flder structure ptin. 6. Click the Security tab next t the Cntent tab and cnfigure the Security settings. Migrate user Migrates the surce users t SharePint. Migrate security When yu chse t migrate the surce users, yu can further select whether t migrate the users security t SharePint by selecting the Migrate security checkbx. Permissin Inheritance Fr the surce cntents that inherit permissins frm the parent, select the Break permissin inheritance ptin t make the migrated cntent and/r the newly created cntainers have the unique permissins, and d nt inherit parent permissins. If yu leave this checkbx deselected, the migrated cntent and/r the newly created cntainers will use the same permissins as the destinatin parent. Fr the surce cntents that d nt inherit permissins frm the parent, these cntents will have unique permissins after the migratin. 7. Click Save t save the prfile. Alternatively, click Save as and enter a prfile name t save it as anther prfile. Select Save and replace the existing sub-prfile t replace the riginal prfile. Otherwise, it is saved withut remving the riginal prfile. Mapping Optins Cnfigure settings in Mapping Optins t set the List Mapping, Cntent Type Mapping, and Security Mapping. 46 List Mapping Set up the list name mapping t specify a new name fr the migrated surce list. Withut list mapping, the newly created library name is the same as the name f the selected surce flder. If the specified destinatin library in the list mapping des nt exist in the destinatin, DcAve creates a new library in the destinatin. If the specified destinatin library in the list mapping exists in the destinatin, DcAve migrates the cntents frm the surce list t this existing library. This lgic takes effect when yu select a destinatin nde that is higher than the library level. T change the library name, set up the list name mapping as fllws: 1. With List Mapping tab activated, click Add a List Name Mapping n the List Name Mapping sectin. 2. Enter an EMC Dcumentum flder name in the EMC Dcumentum Flder Name text bx. 3. Enter a SharePint library name in the SharePint List Name text bx. 4. Repeat steps frm 1 t 4 t add anther list name mapping. T delete the list name mappings, select the checkbxes and then click Deleted the Selected List Name Mapping(s). Cntent Type Mapping Cnfigure the cntent type mapping, which allws yu t match the types f flders r dcuments in the surce t SharePint cntent types. Use the cntent type mapping generated by Migratr Tl Select this ptin t use the cntent type mapping settings generated by Migratr Tl. The cntent type mapping settings are in the cnfiguratin file lcated in the \AvePint\DcAve6\Agent\data\Migratr\DcumentumMigratr\TypeMappings directry. Fr details f using the MigratrTl.exe, refer t the DcAve 6 Supplementary Tls User Guide. Manually cnfigure the cntent type mapping Select this ptin t cnfigure the cntent type mapping manually. Yu can als click Uplad in the Sub-prfile grup n the ribbn t uplad an XML file generated by Migratr Tl fr further editing. After selecting this ptin, the cntent type mapping cnfiguratin pane appears. i. In the Cntent Type Mapping sectin, enter the surce EMC Dcumentum type name in the EMC Dcumentum Type text bx, and enter the destinatin SharePint cntent type name in the SharePint Cntent Type Name text bx. The surce EMC Dcumentum type will be mapped t the destinatin SharePint cntent type after the migratin. ii. On the Clumn Mapping sectin, cnfigure the clumn mapping settings fr this cntent type mapping. The surce attribute will be mapped t the specified destinatin clumn. 46

When selecting Persn r Grup clumn type, the User Name Type pp-up windw appears. Specify the type f the surce attribute, Lgin Name r Display Name. When selecting Managed Metadata clumn type, the Managed Metadata ppup windw appears. Enter an existing term set path in the Term Set Path text bx. T enter a term set path with a nested structure, separate each sectin f the path with semiclns. Fr example: Term Grup; Term Set; Term 1; Term 2. T allw EMC Dcumentum Migratin jbs t migrate the value f ne surce attribute as multiple managed metadata terms t the destinatin managed metadata clumn, select the Allw multiple values checkbx. EMC Dcumentum Migratin will split the surce attribute value int multiple values fr the destinatin managed metadata clumn by a separatr. The default separatr is a semicln. Fr example, the value f the surce attribute 1;2;3 will be mapped as three destinatin managed metadata terms: 1, 2, and 3 and are displayed as 1;2;3 in the destinatin clumn. T custmize the separatr fr the multiple values, select the Allw multiple values separated by; int clumns checkbx and enter the desired character int the text bx. If yu deselect the Allw multiple values checkbx, the value f the surce attribute will be mapped as ne managed metadata term in the destinatin managed metadata clumn. vii. Select whether t use these clumn mapping settings in this cntent type mapping. Select the checkbx f Migrate Clumn t use it and migrate the surce attribute, and deselect the checkbx f Migratin Clumn t nt use it and nt migrate the surce attribute. viii. Specify whether t add this SharePint clumn t the default view by selecting the Add t Default View checkbx. Specify the user mapping, dmain mapping, grup mapping, and permissin mapping. User Mapping (Optinal) Replaces existing user name in EMC Dcumentum with anther username in SharePint metadata fields. Select a previusly created user 47

Surce Data Package Setting Cnfigure the maximum number and maximum size f bjects that can be stred in a data package. Maximum Length f the flder name The default value is 60 characters, hwever, the system maximum is 260 characters. Only the SharePint 2016 r SharePint Online flder name length can be between 129 and 260 characters. If a flder name exceeds the limitatin set with this ptin, the extra characters will be pruned. Fr example: 10 is the maximum character length f the flder name, then a flder named will be pruned t after the migratin. Maximum Length f the file name The default value is 80 characters, hwever, the system maximum is 260 characters. Maximum Length f the SharePint URL The default value is 255 characters, and the system maximum is 400 characters. Only the SharePint Online URLs can be between 261 and 400 characters. The length f the SharePint URL is calculated frm the first character f the managed path. Fr example, the length f SharePint URL is calculated frm the s character within sites in the URL: When a flder r file s URL exceeds the maximum character length, the flder and all its files will be migrated t the next flder up in the hierarchy until the URL des nt exceed the limitatin. Illegal Character Replacement Settings The surce EMC Dcumentum grup names, flder names, and file names may cntain sme characters which are illegal characters in SharePint. Cnfigure the Illegal Character Replacement Settings sectin t replace these illegal characters with valid characters while migrating the crrespnding EMC 49

50 Dcumentum bjects t SharePint via the EMC Dcumentum Migratin jbs. By default, all illegal characters are replaced with an underscre (_). Click Grup Level, Flder Level r File Level t cnfigure the settings fr flder and/r file names. T mdify an illegal character mapping, duble-click the underscre in the Replace with clumn and enter a new valid character. T add an illegal character mapping, click Add an Illegal Character. Then enter the illegal character in the Illegal character in SharePint clumn and the valid character in the Replace with clumn. If yu want t delete mappings fr default illegal characters, yu must disable the <IsEnableIllegalCharReplacement Flag="true"/> nde in the MigratinCmmnCnfiguratin.xml cnfiguratin file. The file is lcated in the \AvePint\DcAve6\Agent\data\Migratr\MigratinCmmnMigratr directry n the destinatin DcAve Agent server. Otherwise, the deleted illegal character will be replaced with an underscre (_). *Nte: If the name f a migrated flder ends with ne r multiple perids (.), EMC Dcumentum Migratin will replace all perids (.) with underscres (_) during the migratin jb. If the name f a migrated file ends with ne r multiple perids (.), EMC Dcumentum Migratin will replace the last perid (.) with an underscre (_) during the migratin jb. Managing Sub-prfiles EMC Dcumentum Migratr prvides the Migratin Optins sub-prfile t manage the flder structure and the securities fr the migrated cntents. Additinally, it prvides the Mapping Optins sub-prfile t specify the Prperty Mapping, Cntent Type Mapping, and Security Mapping (the Security Mapping cntains the User Mapping, Dmain Mapping, Grup Mapping, and Permissin Mapping).Refer t the infrmatin belw t manage an existing sub-prfile. 50

If a sub-prfile having the same name exists in DcAve, yu have tw ptins: Uplad as a new prfile Uplad the sub-prfile and name the upladed sub-prfile by adding a suffix, fr example, subprfile_1. Overwrite current prfile Replace the existing sub-prfile. The Default Mappings subprfile and the Default Migratin Optins prfile sub-prfile cannt be verwritten. Dwnlading an Existing Sub-prfile 1. In the Prfile Settings interface, click Migratin Optins r Mapping Optins n the left-hand panel. 2. Select an existing sub-prfile and click Edit Sub-prfile in the Sub-prfile grup. 3. T start an EMC Dcumentum migratin jb, click Online Migratin n the ribbn in the Hme tab. T perfrm an EMC Dcumentum migratin jb, fllw the instructins belw: Selecting the Surce and Destinatin Ndes 1. In the Surce pane, click Select Surce. The Select Surce pp-up windw appears. 2. On the Select Surce pp-up, select the desired Agent frm the Agent drp-dwn list. Jb Status Optin Specify whether r nt t take the metadata/security exceptins int cnsideratin fr the migratin jb status. If nly the metadata/securities f the cntent failed t be migrated, and yu select Ignre metadata/security exceptins ptin, the migratin jb status will be Finished. Otherwise, the jb status will be Finished with Exceptins. 6. Click OK n the ribbn t save the schedule setting cnfiguratins. Click Cancel n the ribbn t return t the Plan setting interface withut saving any changes. Repeat the cnfiguratins abve t create mre schedules. Click Calendar View t preview the cnfigured schedule in a calendar. 63 Managing Plans T manage migratin plans created by different mdules, yu can use the Plan Manager. After launching the migratin mdule, click Plan Manager next t the Hme tab. In the Plan Manager interface, any plans that yu have previusly created are displayed in the main display pane. In this interface, yu can change the number f plans displayed per page. T change the number f plans displayed per page, select the desired number frm the Shw rws drp-dwn menu in the lwer right-hand crner.
