11 *Nte: If there are multiple DcAve services installed n the same server, make sure all f the required prts are enabled n that server. Fr example, if the Windws Firewall is enabled n the servers which have installed DcAve, yu must make sure the 14000, 14001, 14002, and prts are allwed in the Inbund Rules n the crrespnding servers. *Nte: The prt numbers may vary accrding t the settings cnfigured when installing DcAve 6 in yur envirnments. In this example, the default prts are used. Remte t the server where the DcAve 6 Timer Service is installed. 1. Navigate t Start > Administrative Tls > Windws Firewall with Advanced Security. 2. Right click Inbund Rules under Windws Firewall with Advanced Security n Lcal Cmputer and click New Rule. 3. In Rule Type step, select Prt t cnfigure the inbund rule fr the prts used by DcAve 6 Timer Service. 4. Click Next. 5. In Prtcl and Prts step, specify the rule t be applied t TCP, and then select Specific lcal prts ptin. Enter in the textbx. 6. Click Next. 7. In Actin step, select the Allw the cnnectin ptin t allw the cnnectin t the prt Click Next. 9. In Prfile step, keep the default selectin, which is selecting all the three ptins. 10. Click Next. 11. In Name step, enter the Name and an ptinal Descriptin fr this inbund rule. 12. Click Finish t finish creating the inbund rule. 13. Repeat the same steps n all the ther servers which have DcAve installed and have enabled the Windws Firewall. 11

12 DcAve Manager System Requirements DcAve Manager cnsists f three services, Cntrl Service, Media Service and Reprt Service. Cntrl Service Manage all DcAve peratins and allws users t interact with the web-based DcAve platfrm. All agents can cmmunicate with the manager thrugh the Cntrl Service, s it is imperative that the machine yu install the cntrl service n is accessible by all agent machines. This service can be run n a server cluster t ensure high availability; if the cntrl service were t g dwn, a standby service in the cluster wuld be enabled by an administratr. Fr mre infrmatin, refer t the DcAve Cntrl Service High Availability sectin f this guide. Media Service Perfrms assistant jbs such as managing the retentin rules and managing the backup jb data. This service can be installed n multiple machines. Using multiple media services allws fr high availability and lad-balanced access t the data strage lcatins. Reprt Service Manages all SharePint data cllectin and management, mnitr SharePint activities and return the data t the Cntrl Service fr prcessing. This must be cnfigured with the assciated SQL databases and SQL Reprt Services. This service is critical fr using the DcAve Reprt Center mdule. *Nte: DcAve Reprt service can be installed n multiple servers and can be lad balanced. Hwever, all the Reprt services must share the same Reprt Database and Auditr Database. They can either be run n the same server as yur DcAve Agent, r split acrss several servers. Fr mre infrmatin n DcAve Manager services, see the Installing DcAve Manager sectin f this guide. While it is pssible t have the DcAve Manager and DcAve Agent n a single server, it is nt recmmended. Fr the best perfrmance, install the Manager s services acrss multiple servers, and install nly the necessary Agents n the Agent servers. 19 DcAve Agent System Requirements DcAve Agent has ne service, DcAve Agent Service. A DcAve agent cmmunicates with SharePint based n the cmmands it receives frm the DcAve Manager s Cntrl Service. Multiple agent setups prvide redundancy as well as scalability fr large envirnments by allwing yu t specify different accunts fr different farms where multiple farms exist. The DcAve Agent can be installed n different machines accrding t the rle f the machine, and the DcAve mdules and functinalities yu wish t use. 21 Overview f DcAve Manager Services and DcAve Agent Service After installing all f the services including DcAve Manager Services and DcAve Agent Service prperly, yu are able t manage yur SharePint data via the DcAve platfrm. Cntrl Service receives the request frm DcAve Manager GUI, and then sends the request t Agent Services which retrieve data frm SharePint. Agent Services transfer the SharePint data t Media Services where the data will be integrated t the frmat nly can be identified by DcAve, and sends the integrated data t the specified destinatin. Agent Services als retrieves data via Media Service when transferring r restring data t SharePint. The Reprt Service recrds all f these actins. The infrmatin is then used by DcAve when generating reprts. DcAve Cntrl Service and DcAve Agent Service are required t all the DcAve prducts. Cntrl Service Manage all DcAve peratins and achieve the web-based DcAve platfrm, allwing users t interact with the sftware. All agents can cmmunicate with the manager by Cntrl Service, s it is imperative that the machine yu install the cntrl service n is accessible by all agent machines. This service can be run n a server cluster t ensure high availability; if the cntrl service were t g dwn, a standby service in the cluster wuld be enabled by an administratr. Fr mre infrmatin, refer t the DcAve Cntrl Service High Availability sectin f this guide. Media Service Perfrms assistant jbs such as managing the retentin rules and managing the backup jb data. This service can be installed n multiple machines. Using multiple media services allws fr high availability and ladbalanced access t the data strage lcatins. Reprt Service Manages all SharePint data cllectin and management, mnitr SharePint activities and return the data t the Cntrl Service fr prcessing. This must be cnfigured with the assciated SQL databases and SQL Reprt Services. This service is critical fr using the DcAve Reprt Center mdule. 24

DcAve will perfrm a brief pre-scan f the envirnment t ensure that all rules meet the requirements. The status fr each rule will be listed in the Status clumn. Click the hyperlink f the status, the detailed infrmatin abut the scan result will be listed in the ppup windw. Yu may click Details t can view the detailed infrmatin f all the requirements. If any rules have failed the pre-scan, update yur envirnment t meet the requirements, then click the Rescan buttn t check yur envirnment again. Once all rules pass, click Next. 9. Set up the Cntrl Service Cnfiguratin: Cntrl Service Hst Specify the current machine s hstname r IP address. The Cntrl Service manages internal cnfiguratin data, user access cntrl, scheduling, and jb mnitring. IIS Web Site Settings Cnfigure the IIS web site settings fr the Cntrl Service. Yu can select t use an existing IIS web site r create a new IIS web site. The IIS web site is used t access DcAve Manager. Use an existing IIS web site Select an existing IIS web site frm the drp-dwn list, and if necessary, yu can adjust the Web Site Prt used t access the DcAve Cntrl Service. Create a new IIS web site Enter the web site name and create a new IIS web site fr the Cntrl Service. The default Web Site Prt used t access DcAve Cntrl Service is 14000, yu d nt need t change it unless a knwn prt cnflict exists. Web Site Prt Cntrl Service cmmunicatin prt. The default prt is Applicatin Pl Settings Cnfigure the IIS applicatin pl settings fr the crrespnding web site. Yu can select t use an existing applicatin pl r create a new applicatin pl. Since the DcAve Setup Manager wizard which generates the Answer file cannt be run n Windws Server 2008 R2 Server Cre r Windws Server 2012 Server Cre envirnments, yu must first run the DcAve Setup Manager n a Windws envirnment that des meet the DcAve Manager System Requirements in rder t generate the Answer file necessary fr installing the DcAve Manager n a Windws Server 2008 R2 Server Cre r Windws Server 2012 Server Cre envirnment. After being presented with the welcme screen, click Next. 2. Select Create a new answer file fr DcAve 6 Manager t create a new Answer file fr DcAve Manager. Mdify an existing answer file Select this ptin t reuse an existing Answer file. If this is selected, the path field will be enabled. Enter the full path f the answer file is r click Brwse t brwse fr an answer file. Fr example, C:\AnswerFile.xml *Nte: We recmmend yu create a generic Answer file s that it can be reused later with mdificatin. Click Next. 3. Carefully review the DcAve License Agreement. After yu have read the terms in the license agreement, check the I accept the terms in the license agreement.checkbx t agree t the terms. Click Next. 4. Enter yur name and the rganizatin int the prvided field. Click Next t cntinue the cnfiguratin. Click Back t return t the previus interface. 5. Set up the installatin lcatin using the fllwing cnditins. Default directry The DcAve Manager will be installed t the default installatin lcatin n the specified destinatin server, which is \Prgram Files\AvePint\DcAve6\Manager. Custmized directry If yu select this ptin, enter a custmized path in the Installatin Path field where yu wish t install the DcAve Manager n the destinatin server. Use the default directry if yur custmized directry is invalid Enable this ptin t install DcAve Manager t the default directry shuld the path yu defined fr custmized directry be invalid. Fr example, if the drive indicated by the path yu specified des nt exist n the destinatin server. 37

38 6. Select the DcAve Manager service(s) yu want t install. There are three services yu can install. Cntrl Service Manages all DcAve peratins and cmmunicates with the webbased DcAve platfrm, allwing users t interact with the sftware. All agents cmmunicate with the manager via the Cntrl Service, s it is imperative that the machine yu install the cntrl service n is accessible by all agent machines. This service can be run n a Windws Netwrk Lad Balanced cluster t ensure high availability. Otherwise if the cntrl service is unavailable, a standby service in the cluster needs t be enabled by an administratr, and all agents and media service need t be reregistered t the new Cntrl service. Fr mre infrmatin, refer t the DcAve Cntrl Service High Availability sectin f this guide. Media Service Perfrms assistant jbs such as managing the retentin rules and managing the backup jb data. This service can be installed n multiple machines. Using multiple media services allws fr high availability and lad-balanced access t the data strage lcatins. Reprt Service Manages all SharePint data cllectins and managements, mnitr SharePint activities and return the data t the Cntrl Service fr prcessing. This must be cnfigured with the assciated SQL databases and SQL Reprt Services. This service is critical fr using the DcAve Reprt Center mdule. Click Next. *Nte: DcAve Reprt service can be installed n multiple servers and can be lad balanced. Hwever, all Reprt services must share the same Reprt Database and Auditr Database. 7. Set up the Cntrl Service Cnfiguratin: IIS Web Site Settings Cnfigure the IIS web site settings fr the Cntrl Service. The IIS web site is used t access DcAve Manager. IIS web site Enter the web site name and create a new IIS web site fr the Cntrl Service. The default Web Site Prt used t access DcAve Cntrl Service is 14000, yu d nt need t change it unless a knwn prt cnflict exists. Web Site Prt Cntrl Service cmmunicatin prt. After the Installatin Rule Scanning, yu will then be guided thrugh the installatin/uninstallatin f the selected Manager service(s). Repair the Manager/Agent Installatin Yu can try t repair the DcAve Manager/Agent files after they have been crrupted. Select the Repair ptin in the DcAve Manager/Agent uninstallatin wizard, and DcAve will try t repair the crrupted files. Hwever, there are sme limitatins t the Repair functin. If sme crucial files have been lst r crrupted, the DcAve installatin cannt be repaired. If yu have cleared the temprary files after the first installatin, yu can nly perfrm the repair using Methd 1. If the register key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Micrsft > Windws > CurrentVersin > Uninstall > DcAve6Manager is crrupt, the repair functin cannt be used in this case. Yu must use Methd 1 t perfrm a new installatin f DcAve. 78

If yu use Built-in database, yu will be asked whether t delete the Built-in database while uninstalling DcAve Manager. If yu use SQL Server, the Manager uninstallatin will nt delete the Manager databases. 5. Click Finish t cmplete the uninstallatin. *Nte: Once the uninstallatin is in prgress, it cannt be cancelled and the uninstallatin interface cannt be clsed. 85 Helpful Ntes Issue Displaying Installed DcAve Agents in the Manager Interface If bth hstname and IP address are used t cnfigure the Database server when installing SharePint n the Web frnt-end servers, the DcAve agents installed n the Web frnt-end servers may nt be displayed in DcAve 6 > Cntrl Panel > System Settings > Mnitr > Agent Mnitr. After the DcAve Agents have been installed n the Web frnt-end servers successfully, refer t the detailed steps belw t reslve this issue. 1. Remtely lg n ne Agent server which is displayed crrectly in the Manager Interface. 2. Navigate t the installatin path f DcAve Agent, by default it is C:\Prgram Files\AvePint\DcAve6\Agent\bin. 3.
