1 All Academy Day: Hme Netwrking Event Details Overview Descriptin Each team is emplyed by an ISP. They have been given a wrk rder that directs them t install a Linksys hme wireless ruter nt the cable mdem cnnectin and then t cnfigure the security f the wireless netwrk. By increasing the amunt f equipment, the event may be expanded t have as many teams cmpeting at the same time as yu like. Time required t prepare fr r set up this event 40 minutes fr preparatin: setting up the rm, testing the equipment, printing dcuments, dwnlading cnfiguratin files Length f time t play We suggest giving each team 15 t 25 minutes t cmplete the activity and the judges 15 minutes t scre the results and reset the challenge fr the next team. Imprtant nte The Hme Netwrking set-up and judging instructins, rules, wrk rder, and cnfiguratin files are kept n a secure site. Rules Object f the game Install a hme wireless ruter and set up the hme netwrk. Playing the game Each team is an area ISP that is respnsible fr hking up hme custmers t the Internet. Each team will be presented with a wrk rder and a tplgy diagram. Teams will then fill ut the wrk rder, which includes cnfiguring a Linksys ruter, in the time alltted. 2 Scring will be based n the fllwing tasks: Physical hme cnnectins Wireless cnnectins Wireless netwrk security In case f a tie, the shrtest time will determine the best ruter cnfiguratin team. Bnus The team that cmpletes the event with the fastest time and has n errrs will earn an additinal 10 pints.
