1 Cisc Netwrking Academy Prgram All Academy Day: Ruter Cnfiguratin and Trubleshting Event Details Overview Descriptin Each team is emplyed by an ISP. They have been given a wrk rder that directs them t install a hme ruter int the WAN created between the tw Cisc ruters. They manage the first area f the WAN and must make sure the hme cmputer can get t the secnd ruter. Related curriculum CCNA 2-4 Number f players Tw teams made up f 4 t 5 cmpetitrs each Time required t prepare fr r set up this event 40 minutes fr preparatin: setting up the rm, testing the equipment, printing dcuments, dwnlading cnfiguratin files Length f time t play We suggest giving the cntestants 45 t 60 minutes, per team, t cmplete the activity and the judges 10 minutes t judge and scre the results, then 5 minutes t reset the challenge fr the next team. Playing the game Each team is an area ISP that is respnsible fr hking up hme custmers t the Internet. Each team will be presented with a wrk rder and a tplgy diagram. Scring will be based n the fllwing tasks: Hme cnnectin (physical/cnfiguratin) Layer 1 trubleshting (cnnectins, devices) Cnsle cnfiguratin (able t talk t ruter/switch) End-t-end cnnectin (ping/telnet hme t Web server) In case f a tie the shrtest amunt f time will determine the best ruter cnfiguratin team.
