12 Review f Qapp Visual Prgramming The Qapp Editr allws fr mre granular cntrl with regards t Qapp data cllectin and display ptins. The Executin Flw shwn belw defines the executin sequence f ndes within a Qapp as well as the relatinships r cnditins amng the ndes. The verall executin flw cnsists f the fllwing cmpnents: Canvas: A Canvas is a mdular piece f lgic that serves as ne fr the elements f the verall Executin Flw. Each Canvas is built fr a particular netwrk task. It is where yu indicate hw t retrieve, parse, and analyze the desired data frm the live netwrk. If Cnditin: An If Cnditin is a decisin nde within the executin lgic. It is based n variables frm a glbal data table (retrieved frm the Table Input) r frm the previus Canvas nde. Dialg: A Dialg is a user input prmpt that pens a dialg bx during Qapp executin. 12 NetBrain

13 Writing a Qapp: Canvas Elements The Canvas is used t define the primary runtime lgic f the Qapp. A Canvas is built frm the fllwing cmpnents: Device Queue: Specifies a grup f devices fr the Qapp t run n during executin. Device: Used t define the Cmmand Type (CLI cmmand, Cnfiguratin file, Ping, Tracerute, r SNMP). It is als where the Qapp lgic branches e.g., t accmmdate different cmmands fr different vendr devices. Cmmand and Parser: Specifies the CLI cmmands fr retrieving data frm live devices, the rules t parse the utput, and hw t cnvert the utput int variables (yu can select a pre-built parser frm the parser library). Data Table: The Device Data Table stres the data parsed frm a particular device and the Glbal Data Table stres all device data. Table Operatr: Used t prcess data frm ne r mre table ndes. Fr example, yu can use the Table Operatr t filter r merge data frm tw Device Data Tables int a single table. Additinal tunnel interfaces can nw be recgnized, such as, the GRE Tunnel interfaces n the Frtinet Firewall.
