We encurage all ptential speakers t review this dcument prir t submitting a prpsal fr cnsideratin. We are lking fr dynamic presenters wh can engage their audience and facilitate thught-prvking discussins at the 2019 GRC Cnference, which will be hsted August at The Diplmat Beach Resrt in Frt Lauderdale, FL. Submissins will be evaluated based n the fllwing criteria. Speakers are required t adhere t: A prven track recrd as a speaker. The prpsal frm will include space where we encurage yu t enter any additinal cmments, past speaker evaluatin scres, r speaking references. Include up-t-date data, case studies, and resurces. Prvide practical strategies (real-wrld examples), tls, and/r take-hme messages fr implementatin in the practice setting fr successful utcmes (emphasize hw-t, what wrks, and why). The ability t address an issue critical t the internal and/r IS audit prfessin. The level f interactin the sessin will prvide t attendees, including but nt limited t: Q&A, plling technlgy, case studies, and takeaway tls. Refrain frm sales r self-prmtins f prducts and services. The number f speakers r panelist fr ne sessin is limited t a maximum f fur participants, including the mderatr. Service prviders and/r cnsultants are required t prvide a current practitiner with whm they will be c-presenting. It is highly encuraged fr service prviders t include their cpresenter s infrmatin in their submissin, as this will be taken int cnsideratin during the review prcess. If this infrmatin is nt already identified in the submissin and the prpsal is accepted, the c-presenting practitiner will need t be identified within tw weeks after cnfirmed presentatin. Speaking at the cnference is a vlunteer pprtunity. Cmpensatin fr speaking fees and travel is nt prvided unless therwise indicated. If yu will need assistance with travel, please indicate that in yur submissin. All speakers receive a cmplimentary, nn-transferable full registratin fr the 2019

3 GRC Cnference. Registratin fr pre-cnference wrkshps is nt included with the cmplimentary cnference registratin. Imprtant timeline milestnes include: Deadline fr submissin f prpsals January 28, 2019 Prpsals reviewed by GRC Cnference subject matter experts January 31 February 15, 2019 Invitatins issued t selected speakers Week f March 25, ntificatins sent t speakers wh were nt selected By April 30, 2019 GUIDELINES FOR PROPOSALS All prpsals must be submitted using the nline frm. Think quality ver quantity. Yu may submit up t fur (4) prpsals n separate tpics. Plan yur submissin in advance. We suggest that yu first cllect yur thughts fr yur prpsal befre ging t the nline frm. The nline submissin frm will allw yu t start and stp via the nline prtal that yu will have access t nce yu create yur prfile, as yu may be required t research additinal infrmatin, such as c-presenter cntact infrmatin. The GRC Cnference subject matter experts will nly review cmpleted prpsals that have been submitted; please make sure yu hit submit nce all infrmatin has been entered. The primary pint f cntact is the persn submitting the prpsal. The GRC Cnference Team will cmmunicate with all speakers fr the sessin regarding deadlines and submissin f speaker infrmatin. The primary pint f cntact is respnsible fr submitting the final sessin descriptin and learning bjectives as well as the final presentatin eight (8) weeks in advance f the cnference. All prpsed speakers must be listed in the prpsal. Prpsed speakers will be reviewed by the GRC Cnference Team prir t acceptance. T ensure a quality learning experience fr cnference attendees, the GRC Cnference Team limits the ttal number f speakers and panelists t a maximum f fur (4) participants (including the mderatr) per sessin n the prgram. Service prviders and/r cnsultants are required t prvide a current practitiner r client with whm they will be c-presenting. It is highly recmmended t include the current practitiner r client in the submissin fr cnsideratin. If this infrmatin is nt already identified in the submissin and the prpsal is accepted, the c-presenting practitiner will need t be identified within tw weeks after presentatin acceptance. Use clear, errr-free language. Sessin prpsals require clear and cncise titles (limit 10 wrds), clear utcme with fcused descriptins in a shrt frmat (limit 75 wrds), and 3-4 actin-riented, well-thught-ut learning bjectives/takeaways that answer the prmpt In this sessin, participants will The GRC Cnference Team retains the right t edit all cpy submitted fr marketing purpses. Sessins that include the use f plling, case studies, prblem-slving exercises, and deep-dive discussins with practical takeaways fr implementatin in the practice setting will be given special cnsideratin. Avid all cmmercial bias. Sessins perceived by attendees as cmmercially biased in cntent r as a sales pitch fr the service prvider s/cnsultant s services and/r tls are unacceptable. Any submissin that is nt educatinal in nature, neutral, unbiased, and free f cmmercial

4 mtive/intent will nt be accepted. Thse wh vilate this plicy may frfeit future speaking pprtunities at the GRC Cnference. All accepted speakers must adhere t published deadlines. Yu must be cmmitted and respnsive t wrking with the GRC Cnference Team t deliver an exceptinal sessin by adhering t deadlines, including submissin f yur PwerPint presentatin n less than eight (8) weeks prir t the start f the cnference fr review and apprval by the GRC Cnference Team and subject matter experts as well as fr inclusin in the cnference app prir t the start f the cnference. Upn review f the presentatin, cmments will be prvided t the speaker fr cnsideratin and updating f the PwerPint prir t the cnference. All speakers will be registered fr the 2019 GRC Cnference and htel arrangements will be made by the GRC Cnference Team. Speakers receive cmplimentary cnference registratin. The speaker will prvide The IIA with their requested dates fr htel accmmdatins by the requested deadline. The IIA will reserve the speaker s htel rms in the grup blck and will prvide a cnfirmatin number n later than tw (2) weeks befre the start f the cnference. The speaker is respnsible fr all travel expenses, including htel accmmdatins, unless previusly agreed t by the GRC Cnference Team.
