They are suiable for all ime-delayed swiching operaions in conrol, saring, proecive, and regulaing circuis and ensure high repeaabiliy of he se run imes Device ypes Device ypes The SIMIREL 3RP1 ime relays are available in he following forms: Single-funcion devices, such as he on-delay funcion Mulifuncional devices Frame sizes The SIMIREL 3RP1 ime relays are available in wo widhs: 3RP10: 45 mm The widh, heigh, and deph of ime relays and conacors of frame size S00 (3RT/3RH10) are idenical. 5 3RP20, 3RP15 solid-sae ime relays Insallaion Aachmen Connecion Snap-on aachmen All he ime relays can be snapped ono 35 mm rails and removed wihou ools in acc. wih EN Screw-on aachmen 3RP10: aachmen openings are inegraed in he device 3RP15: push-in lugs for screw-ype aachmen are available as accessories The erminals of he 3RP1 ime relays are designed for connecions of he conrol cables wih a maximum sripped lengh of 10 mm. Cross-secions of 2 x 0.5 o 2.5 mm 2 (single-coil) and 2 x 0.5 o 1.5 mm 2 (single-coil) can be clamped wih a wire end ferrule. Screw-ype erminal (SIGUT erminal) The 3RP10 and 3RP15 ime relays are available wih plus-minus Pozidriv 2 screw-ype connecions. Springloaded erminal The 3RP10 and 3RP15 ime relays are available wih springloaded erminals Special feaures Operaing emperaure There are no resricions on he conrol supply volage, swiching curren, or duy cycle for operaion beween -25 C o +60 C. Time ranges There are up o 15 ime seings, ranging from 0.05 s o 100 hr. The 3RP15 has addiional ime seings beween he decade scales (1/10/100 s/min/h) ha make high seing accuracy possible. Wide-range volage There are mulifuncional relays wih a wide volage range of 24 VAC/VDC o 240 VAC/VDC. Elecrical service life The elecrical service life wih conacor load (e.g. 3RT1016 conacor) is 10 million operaing cycles. The elecrical service life a AC volage of 230 V, uilizaion caegory AC-15/ 3 A, and a DC volage, uilizaion caegory DC-13/1 A, is 100,000 operaing cycles. Sar conac In he case of funcions ha require a coninuous auxiliary supply o erminals and A3/A2, he ime funcion can be sared by a conrol supply volage o erminal B1 or B3. 6 3RP20, 3RP15 solid-sae ime relays Noes on configuraion Sar inpu The following specificaions mus be complied wih o ensure error-free operaion of he solid-sae ime relays: Only apply he conrol supply volage from sar inpu B1 or B3 once he supply volage has already been applied o or A3/A2. Idenical poenial Idenical poenial mus be applied o erminals A1 and B1 or A3 and B3. Combinaion volage In he case of combinaion volage ypes, only one volage range can be conneced. Never apply he wo conrol supply volages simulaneously. Parallel load a he sar conac The sar conac is under volage and recified. There is a connecion in he ime relay o he A1 and A2 erminals. The conrol of loads parallel o he sar inpu is herefore no permissible a AC 50/60 Hz conrol supply volage. Combinaion/widerange volages The following informaion faciliaes configuraion of SIMIREL 3RP ime relays: 80% of he ime relay ypes are combinaion and wide-range volage ypes because hey are flexible in heir uses: Combinaion volage: wo operaing volage ranges (e.g. 24 VAC/VDC and 200 o 240 VAC) a differen erminals Wide-range volage: one operaing volage range from 24 VAC/VDC o 240 VAC/VDC a he same erminals Two-wire ime relay Two-wire ime relays have he following advanages over convenional ime relays in connecion wih conacors: Reduced wiring Bounce-free conrol The elecronic oupu increases service life because no mechanical wear occurs. 7 3RP20, 3RP15 solid-sae ime relays Special funcions Pulsing funcion: pulse and idle ime can be se separaely. Flashing: he pulse/break raio is 1:1. The iming period sars wih he "off-delay wihou auxiliary supply" funcion if he ime relay is separaed from he supply volage. In he case of he 3RP15 ime relay wih 15 selecable ime seings, here is a swich posiion. This means an endless iming period. If his seing is chosen for he on-delay funcion, he oupu relay never swiches hrough afer he supply volage has been applied (off funcion). In he case of he "making pulse conac" funcion, he oupu relay always remains on (on funcion). This can be used for es purposes. In he case of he "addiive on-delay wih auxiliary supply" funcion, he ime is added for as long as he sar conac is acivaed. If he sar conac is inerruped, he iming period sops and is hen coninued once he sar conac is closed again. This funcion is no non-volaile and requires a coninuous auxiliary power supply. In he case of he "shaping pulse conac wih auxiliary supply" funcion, an acivaed sar conac riggers a iming period ha can be se. The conrol signal for his can be shorer or longer han he desired runime. Cable ducs If you use cable ducs for wiring, he posiion and dimensions of he erminal blocks mus be aken ino consideraion (see pages 7-27) Explanaion of erms Seing accuracy Seing accuracy is he accuracy in relaion o he end value of he scale in line wih he specified olerance. Operaing ime adjusmen 15 ime ranges can be se by means of a roary swich. The desired runime can be se accuraely by means of a poeniomeer (roary swich for fine adjusmen). Imporan Changes o he ime range are only effecive if hey are made in a deenergized sae. The se ime range is displayed in a window nex o he roary swich. The desired runime can be se accuraely by means of a poeniomeer (roary swich for fine adjusmen). In he ime range posiion he funcion is execued wih an endless ime period. This means, for example, ha he oupu relay never swiches hrough when "on-delay" is se and he supply volage is applied or ha he oupu relay remains coninuously on when "making pulse conac" is se. Imporan Changes o he ime range are only effecive if hey are made in a deenergized sae. Example You wan o se a 90 second period: Sep 1 2 Procedure 100s % Roae he ime range selecor swich unil 100 s appears in he adjacen window. This means runimes of up o 100 seconds can be se. The se funcion can be labeled disincly wih an idenificaion plae wih he corresponding funcion diagram. A he same ime, a mechanical code ensures ha he correc funcion is se by ensuring ha a label can only be clipped on if he corresponding funcion is se using he roary swich. A label se wih funcion diagrams of all he funcions ha can be se for he ime relay is available as an accessory. The iming period begins afer he conrol supply volage has been applied. The semiconducor oupu hen becomes live, and volage is applied o he load. Four ime ranges can be se by means of a roary swich. Afer he raed conrol supply volage has been disconneced, he runime sars. Afer has finished, he relay swiches back o he quie sae. If he minimum on-ime is no adhered o, i is ensured ha eiher he iming period will no sar or ha a sared iming period will always be properly compleed.
