Peter Slagna reprted a very shrt update f the EMI release activities: Update July 12 th : This update will likely include updates fr BLAH, BDII, WNDeS and StRM. All these cmpnents need t be cnfirmed in the next days. All ther cmpnents updates in prgress have been scheduled fr the fllwing EMI update: August 9 th (TBC). 2

3 Staged Rllut update Status f SW prvisining fr UMD2: High pririty prducts: All ARC and UNICORE prducts are under the prcess being perfrmed by EAs. Staged rllut reprts are expected by Wednesday (4 July). Under staged rllut, n SR reprts received yet - shuld be sent until tmrrw (3 July) at mst (4 July). CREAM and the CREAM batch system plugins, Trque- WN, WN and VOMS. SR reprt has been received: DPM (SL6), StRM (SL5), UI (SL5 and SL6). Prblematic - N EA answered yet dcache, LFC (SL6) Medium pririty prducts: SR reprts already received: BDII site (SL6), LB (SL5), BDII Tp (SL6) Under SR: APEL (SL5 and SL6), MPI (SL5) Mst f the medium pririty prducts will be likely released in the UMD update scheduled fr the end f July. WMS is expected fr the EMI update in August, and it will included in UMD in the subsequent update. Sites wh are ging t install it befre the UMD release, will be able t use directly the EGI test repsitries. Frm the lw pririty list f cmpnents, APEL and MPI have entered Staged Rllut. SAM was scheduled fr the last week, but it did nt enter the Sftware Prvisining prcess yet. Sme prblems fund in pre- prductin delayed the release f Update- 17 Nte: all Early Adpters can be fund in this page maintained by Mari: 3

4 AOB APEL parser develpments The APEL team is planning t redevelp the APEL parsers ver the summer. Fr this, we need a gd quantity f different batch system lg files t test against. We need t catch as many edge cases as we can in ur initial testing. What we need is the batch system 'event lg' files. A few megabytes frm each site wuld be plenty. If yu have 'blah' installed n yur CE, blah lg files fr the same dates wuld be useful as well. Please als tell us: the versin f the batch system RPM f the batch system yu are using the GOCDB name f yur site. The batch systems we are planning t supprt are: PBS / Trque; LSF; Grid Engine; SLURM If anyne is using a different batch system and feels that APEL shuld supprt it, they shuld get in tuch. Please send lgs and / r questins t apel- admins@mailtalk.ac.uk. Cmment: In general upgrading the batch system, in particular majr updates, can change the frmat f the lg files parsed by the APEL parser, and site managers shuld first assess the impact f the upgrade, fr example lking fr ther sites wh already upgraded the batch system, r sending a first lg t the APEL team t check fr changes. Training sessins at Technical Frum 2012 EMI will prvide tw training sessins during the TF: 1. Training sessin fr site administratrs, Wednesday September 19th (TBC) The sessin aims t prvide training n the mst relevant services deplyed by the sites: CREAM,WN,DPM,BDII,WMS and YAIM cnfiguratin tl Additinal tpics t prpse? Cnsidering that, this training sessin is targeted t nn- highly experienced site managers f small resurce centers 2. Security training fr site administratrs Thursday 20th September 4
