1 Release Letter Prduct: Versin: Cnfiguratin Manager This letter cntains latest infrmatin abut the abve mentined sftware. 1. General Cnfiguratin Manager is a generic cnfiguratin tl fr all Bsch IP Netwrk Vide Prducts, bth sftware mdules and hardware devices. It is used fr cnfiguratin and licensing f the varius prducts where it may be included n the prduct CD. Cnfiguratin Manager is a feature release based n versin Cnfiguratin Manager 6.0 intrduced a rewrked table view that makes cnfiguratin f multiple devices mre cmfrtable and prvides a better verview f settings in selected and multiple devices tgether with extended exprt/imprt functins. Alng with it cme imprvements due t architectural changes that retrieve parameters frm devices up t hundred times faster. Cnfiguratin Manager 6.0 als intrduced a security assessment page, prviding an verview and status f the actually cnfigured security level f the system. It includes Vide SDK 6.3 and latest plug-ins fr VCA 6.4 cnfiguratin. This versin supprts English as main language. The ther 10 languages are nt fully translated yet. Make sure t always use the latest released versin. Changes t last versin marked blue. 1

2 2. Imprtant Ntes Cnfiguratin Manager 5.50 and higher are pure 64 bit applicatins and require a 64 bit Windws perating system. Cnfiguratin Manager 5.50 and higher can be installed in parallel t a Bsch Vide Client installatin, which still includes and uses a Cnfiguratin Manager versin belw 5.5x. It will then re-use the database, can add new devices and cnfigure them. Strng database encryptin must nt be activated, therwise Vide Client will fail t start. If Vide Client des nt start even when strng database encryptin was nt activated, the frmer Cnfiguratin Manager, e.g frm the latest Vide Client installatin package, might need t be re-installed. 2

3 3. New Features Backup f device cnfiguratin can be stred in a cnfiguratin repsitry. System backup allws assignment f a backup passwrd and sftware sealing f device cnfiguratin after backup. New FLEXIDOME 8000i camera family is supprted, including dual SD card functinality. Prject files frm Prject Assistant app can nw be imprted. Camera Trainer cnfiguratin is supprted. 4. 4 5. Restrictins; Knwn Issues VGA settings fr VIP XD are nt available in this Cnfiguratin Manager versin. Must be set up via the prduct s web site. When using the Wizard t re-cnfigure this will nt wrk fr passwrd-prtected devices. FTP address must be IP address nly, URL is nt supprted. Alarm input rules f AUTODOMEs running firmware versin 4.10 cannt be cnfigured crrectly in Cnfiguratin Manager. The Web interface shall be used instead. After changing the IP address f a device the settings page might nt be updated autmatically. Manual refresh might be required. The Wizard may run int a timeut situatin when cnfiguring a camera with mtin recrding. A Retry buttn appears which needs t be pressed then. In Date/Time settings page, the date and time values shwn are frm PC instead f frm device. Uplad f a cnfiguratin file might be incmplete if it includes recrding settings. It is recmmended t check the settings manually. Special characters like &<:>@ are nt allwed fr names and passwrds. If entered int devices using the Web GUI the Cnfiguratin Manager will nt be able t access the devices. BVC system setup is limited t 200 inputs (cameras, relays, digital I/O). Devices which are assigned t a recrder (e.g. VRM) are nt marked in the Wizard with a green checkbx if anther recrder is selected. Multiple assignments may happen and special attentin is needed. Saving empty passwrd may cause I/O errr message withut effect fr the setting. User names and passwrds fr BVC user management are limited t 31 characters. Database path must be re-written if previus installatin did nt use default path. VRM parameters can nly partially be dragged int table view. 'Device inf' dialg fr Divar 700 nly shws the general infrmatin tab and infrmatin that can be retrieved thrugh the VideSDK interfaces. Cnfiguratin Manager Wizard des nt supprt Divar devices. Divar devices can neither be added t the system nr cnfigured via Cnfiguratin Manager Wizard. N IPv6 & DNS check fr VRM databases. DIBOS/BRS cnfiguratin (neither cnfiguratin pages nr via external cnfiguratin tls) is nt supprted. Fr cameras with Intelligent Tracking functin, Click n bject is nt supprted by Cnfiguratin Manager. 4

5 If n IPv6 netwrk is available, the initial IP address cnfiguratin f DLA E-Series must be dne by setting the PC s IP address in the range f the strage s default IP address fr discvery. Once set t a valid IP range, the Cnfiguratin Manager PC can be used with its standard IP address. Cnfiguratin Manager may run int an access vilatin when an ONVIF camera with pan and tilt but n zm functin is added t Vide Streaming Gateway, e.g. like Axis M3007. Fr legacy devices, e.g. VideJet 8008 r VideJet 10, all tabs and buttns regarding mtin detectin are deactivated, thus mtin detectin cannt be cnfigured. FTP accunts passwrds are nt stred during Backup & Restre settings. User interface fr the DIVAR AN 3000/5000 FW upgrade feature is nly available in English. If the DIVAR AN 3000/5000 FW upgrade transfer is interrupted by a pwer r netwrk failure the remte system might get in a state that it can t be upgraded again thrugh Cnfiguratin Manager. In this case, the upgrade must be dne manually thrugh the WEB UI r lcally n the device. A FW uplad f a DIVAR AN 3000 r DIVAR AN 5000 can nly be cancelled during the transfer phase. Once the file has been transferred t the device and the upgrade prcess has been started this cannt be cancelled anymre. Fr dual recrding, Cnfiguratin Manager des nt allw t assign the identical LUN t bth recrding entries. VCA tabs, e.g. Mtin Detectin may nt be refreshed after firmware upgrade r dwngrade. Manual refresh might be necessary. Device netwrk settings cnfiguratin fr VJD-7000 and VJD-8000 is nt functinal in the cntext menu f the device tree (right-click). The netwrk cnfiguratin page shall be used instead. VRM-based ANR mde is n mre supprted. Only ne LUN lck can be verwritten per device at a time. Acquiring f lck is dne nly when strage target is needed fr recrding. Uplad f an invalid certificate will cause I/O errrs displayed n page. With cameras running firmware 6.4x and Silent VCA mde, a wrng VCA calibratin tab may be displayed n event triggered r scheduled mdes. A VCA prfile must be selected first. Underscre character ( _ ) and blank space are nt allwed in cmmn name in certificates. Once an authenticated is established, the user can still cmmunicate with a device althugh the smart tken might have been remved. T avid unauthrised access, Cnfiguratin Manger shuld nt be left accessible when the smart tken with the client certificate is remved. IP address change f DSA E2700 in device tree may crash the applicatin. With CPP7.3 AUTODOME and MIC cameras, an I/O errr might be displayed n the Lgs tab. The device s web page can be used instead t access the lgs and cnfigure the syslg functinality. 5

6 Due t security cncerns, basic authenticatin is n mre supprted. As a result, firmware cannt be upladed t a passwrd-prtected VJD-7000 running FW 54.8.x r lder. An lder versin f Cnfiguratin Manager can be used instead, r the passwrd remved temprarily. With certificate-based authenticatin, each Windws user shuld nly use ne Smart Card r user tken fr the same CA. If a strage array is recnfigured r cleared manually (e.g. by using cnsle r SanTricity instead f Bsch tls), all LUNs f all targets f the strage array must be deleted frm the VRM and then re-added again t update all necessary infrmatin. Custm table views d nt supprt adding f dynamic cntent like e.g. user management r certificates. Cnfiguratin uplad and dwnlad is nt supprted fr cameras f the Remte Prtal. Repsitry dwnlad that includes ffline devices r devices nt supprting a cnfiguratin file dwnlad will shw an errr which can be ignred. All parameters handled by Cnfiguratin Manager will be stred in repsitry. In rare cases nly a partial VRM device tree is shwn. Restart the Cnfiguratin Manager fr a full display. Nte: If multiple Cnfiguratin Managers are used in the netwrk, maintaining the same r an verlapping set f devices simultaneusly, unpredictable effects might ccur when writing t the devices. Nte: Fr stand-alne installatin f Cnfiguratin Manager 5.0 r higher,.net 4.5 must be installed. Due t the change t.net 4.5 DiBs devices cannt be fund by netwrk scan if.net 3.5 is nt installed. If required install.net 3.5 in additin t the Cnfiguratin Manager installatin package. 6

9 New Features with New Table View Table view is nw embedded in Cnfiguratin Manager user interface as an alternative view t the tab view interface. It des nt pen a separate windw anymre but switches views between the tw alternatives. Device parameters are listed in an Excel -like view and are shwn fr all cameras that had been selected in this view. Device multi-select is als pssible in this view, prviding a detailed verview f actual settings and allwing changes t parameters in a fast and cmfrtable way. Custm table views prvide means t fcus n imprtant and relevant settings, and tgether with extended imprt and exprt functins make cnfiguratin archiving and restratin an easy task. Architectural changes help retrieving device parameters up t hundred times faster, supprting the new table view t present multiple devices parameters quickly and smthly. MicrCA eases the management f small t medium systems deplying certificate device authenticatin as well as certificate-based user authenticatin. Certificate based authenticatin allws t create clsed systems with very high prtectin against malicius access. The MicrCA is dcumented in a separate appendix manual.
