It is a Linux based device driven by a new and pwerful RFID engine that enables users t integrate RFID int their business lgic and applicatins with great ease and high efficiency. Release Ntes lists new features, any specific usage instructins, and any knwn issue. The features and the issues mentined in this dcument are applicable fr all FX7500 SKUs Sftware Dwnlad The versin sftware update package includes the files required t update FX7500 RFID Reader. An FTP/SCP/FTPS server is required in rder t upgrade the readers. The sftware fr fx7500 reader is available at Zebra supprt site. 3 Installatin Requirements FX Release Ntes A Java enabled brwser n a PC is required t initiate the upgrade prcess. A USB drive can als be used directly. The recmmended brwser is Mzilla FireFx Installatin Instructins There are three supprted ways t upgrade the FX7500 RFID reader Methd 1: Unzip images and cpy t a USB drive. Cnnect USB drive t FX7500reader. Upgrade will autmatically start in 7-10 secnds. Methd 2: Cpy images t lcal drive f PC, lg in t the reader, select File based upgrade n reader upgrade webpage, Enter username and passwrd f reader. Select image t upgrade frm lcal PC. Click Start upgrade Nte :- There is a separate package available t perfrm File based upgrade t the reader. Methd 3: Cpy images t FTP server. Navigate t the reader upgrade webpage and select FTP upgrade page. Enter username and passwrd f the FTP server. Start upgrade. FTP/SCP/FTPS server can be used t upgrade the readers. The latest versin f PwerSessin dem applicatin ( and higher) can als be used t upgrade multiple readers with a single peratin. Please refer t the Integratr Guide dcument fr detailed upgrade prcedures. New Features summary This release includes the fllwing new features (as cmpared t release). Added cuntry supprt fr Philippines and Indnesia Allw/disallw Guest User Optin t cntrl whether Guest User is allwed r nt t access the reader using the web cnsle. When Checked (default) this ptin is enabled and Guest user is allwed t lgin t view the reader settings. Disabling this ptin prevents Guest user lgin t the reader's web cnsle. Display f ECC errrs n hme screen Amber status LED t be turned n if any ECC cnversin errr is detected All partitins are cnverted frm t 1-Bit t 4-Bit ECC fr the cntent stred in the NAND flash Calculatin f checksum fr each partitin is added during firmware update -c parameter is added in respnse.txt file t calculate checksum value fr each partitin Java Applets fr the web cnsle has been updated with a valid cde signing certificate Remve passwrd change traces frm syslg Allw special characters in passwrd when changing passwrd using the web cnsle Mdificatins t the Japan regulatry as belw 1.
