4 Installatin and upgrade ntes These ntes prvide imprtant infrmatin abut prduct requirements fr Team Server and Repsitry installatin and upgrade. Yu shuld read this dcument in its entirety befre any install, upgrade, r uninstall prcedure. System requirements Befre installing r upgrading Team Server and Repsitry, verify that yur envirnment meets the hardware and perating system requirements. Adhering t these requirements ptimizes perfrmance. These hardware requirements are based n a 5-10 user envirnment. Fr mre than 10 users, ensure yur hardware surpasses the previusly-stated hardware requirements t accmmdate the number f transactins that increase as the number f users increases. If upgrading an existing installatin n the same applicatin server, d nt uninstall the previus versin. The new versin will back up the data frm the previus versin and restre it as part f the new Team Server/Repsitry installatin prcedure. This prcedure allws published diagrams and wrkspaces t remain published after upgrade. Minimum requirements Hardware Database Server Applicatin Server Prcessr RAM Disk Space DVD Reader Operating System As required by yur database platfrm. Other brwsers may wrk, but are nt fficially supprted: Mzilla Firefx Ggle Chrme Micrsft Internet Explrer 11.0 Micrsft Edge T be able t launch the cnfiguratr within Micrsft Edge, fllw next steps: 1. Open the Cntrl Panel -> Internet Optins dialg. 2. G t the Security tab. 3. Select Lcal intranet zne and click the Sites buttn. 4. Check the Autmatically detect intranet netwrk bx. Encrypting / SSL enablement requirements Team Server supprts encrypting cnnectins t SQL Server (SSL enabled) with the fllwing envirnment: Windws Server 2008 R2, Micrsft SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 1 (SP1). The htfix needed is Cumulative Update 7 fr SQL Server 2014 ( Windws Server 2008 R2, Micrsft SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 (SP2) The htfix needed is Cumulative Update 6 fr SQL Server 2012 SP2 ( IDERA, Inc. 5

6 Installatin and upgrade checklist Befre running the installer fr an upgrade, stp the IderaTeamServer service frm the Services cntrl panel. The installatin user accunt must have lcal administrative privileges. T install, yu need t create first an empty database fr Team Server, unless yu already have a database and will be reinitializing it during the install. The database server t be used must be running. If yu want t cnfigure LDAP authenticatin t allw directry service users t lg int Team Server, check that yur LDAP server is up and running. If yu want t enable Team Server ntificatins, check that yur SMTP server is up and running. Yu may want t prepare a special address n yur server fr this purpse. Cnflicts See als If upgrading an existing installatin n the same applicatin server, d nt uninstall the previus versin. 7 Database server requirements Supprted database platfrms IBM DB2 is n lnger supprted as a Team Server/Repsitry platfrm. Team Server and Repsitry databases may run n any f the fllwing database platfrms: Micrsft SQL Server 2012 t Oracle 11g, 12c, and 12c R2. The ER/Studi Team Server/Repsitry supprts running frm Amazn EC2 r Azure IaaS envirnments. In rder fr the Repsitry t cmmunicate with the database, the machine running Team Server must als have the crrespnding RDBMS client utility installed. Oracle characteristics Install the 64-bit versin f Oracle Client Utilities. Cnfigure yur server in ne f the fllwing Oracle cnfiguratin tls: Net Easy Cnfig r Net Cnfiguratin Assistant. Create a cnnectin alias. If yu are upgrading using Oracle, increase the number f prcesses (cnnectins) t 200 befre running. 8 Micrsft SQL Server characteristics 64-bit client libraries are already installed n Windws machines. Ensure that the server and database are set t case-insensitive, as case- sensitive is nt supprted. Als set the SQL Server Cnfiguratin Prperties t allw SQL Server authenticatin. Team Server nly supprts SQL Server Authenticatin. The database and server cllatin must be set t SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS. When using SQL Server, ensure the SQL Server Agent is running. Team Server n SQL Server nly supprts the fllwing cmmunicatin prtcls: Shared Memry TCP/IP Named Pipes The ptin ANSI_NULLS (Server Prperties > Cnnectins) needs t be set as On. The default schema fr Team Server needs t be db. If yu were using a different schema, please mre the tables t db schema previus t install r upgrade. After cnfiguring a new installatin against a SQL Server 2014 r later database, it is recmmended that yu g int the prperties f the new database and change the cmpatibility settings t 2012 r This step helps prevent significant perfrmance degradatin in many envirnments. 9 Abut Team Server and Repsitry upgrade With the release f ER/Studi 16.0, the Repsitry is cmbined int a single installer and database implementatin with Team Server. Prerequisites Befre running the installer fr an upgrade, stp the IderaTeamServer service frm the Services cntrl panel. 64-bit OS. Team Server/Repsitry 16.0 and later are nly supprted n 64-bit machines. Dwnlad the latest Team Server installer Highly recmmended that yu back up the database Repsitry must be n versin 6.5, 6.6, 6.7, r 7.0. If yu are n an earlier versin, please refer t the ER/Studi dcumentatin website fr upgrade instructins t versin 18.x.x Database server where the current Repsitry database resides Database user wh wns the Repsitry bjects Database user currently must have db_wner (SQL Server), and DBA rle (ORACLE) Repsitry Admin passwrd ER/Studi Data Architect 18.x (crrespnding t the versin yu t which yu want t upgrade) must be installed n a separate client machine Preparing the upgrade Repsitry user preparatins 1. Ensure yu have backed up all yur.dm1 files. 2. Check in all yur diagrams and bjects. If yu try t check in a file frm the previus versin with the same name as a current file, the current file will becme crrupted. 3. Rename all lcal cpies f Repsitry diagrams in the active file directry as fllws: a. Chse Repsitry > Optins and make nte f the Active File Directry. b. Switch t the Windws Explrer and rename all the diagrams in the Active File Directry in rder t prtect them f being verwritten. Example: Backup_DiagramName.dm1. IDERA, Inc. 9

10 Repsitry administratr preparatins Ensure n ne is lgged int the Repsitry, and then back up the current Repsitry database. If yu are upgrading frm a Repsitry versin prir t 4.0, yu can delete the C:\Prgram Files\Embarcader\Repsitry\Data directry. This directry is nt used with Repsitry versins 4.0 and later. Upgrading frm Team Server 4.0.x, CONNECT 3.0.x r ER/Studi Prtal 2.0.x 1. Make a cpy f the license files, fr example: license.txt, a_ txt r.slip until the upgrade has cmpleted. Then cpy t the license flder in the installatin directry f the new Team Server installatin flder. 2. Depending n yur installatin lcatin, yu can find the license file in the prgram directry. Fr example: C:\Embarcader\ERStudi Prtal 2.0\license If yu have already used the uninstaller, yu may als have a license backup in the fllwing Windws lcatins: 32-bit: C:\Prgram Files (x86)\cmmn Files\ersEnterprisePrtalBackup\license 64-bit: C:\Prgram Files\Cmmn Files\ersEnterprisePrtalBackup\license 3. After cpying ver the license.txt file t the license flder within the installatin flder f Team Server, lg int Team Server as Admin, select My Settings > Admin > Licenses, and then click Refresh fr Team Server t recgnize yur licenses. We always recmmend backing up yur data befre starting the prcess. Yu may have t back up yur database and, fr Team Server and Cnnect, exprt yur Glssaries and Terms. 4. Uninstall the previus versin. Upgrade scenaris First f all, prepare the upgrade fr any scenari. Upgrades frm Team Server 16.x which includes Repsitry DO NOT UNINSTALL the previus versin f Team Server. The new versin will back up the data frm the previus versin and restre it as part f the new Team Server/Repsitry installatin prcedure. This prcedure allws published diagrams and wrkspaces t remain published after upgrade 2. Install Team Server Upgrades frm Repsitry 7.0.X (Standalne) 1. Uninstall Repsitry 7.0.X. 2. Install Team Server On the ER/Studi Repsitry Database Setup page, select Specify lcatin fr Team Server database..., this will expand the infrmatin fields. IDERA, Inc. 10

11 Upgrade frm Repsitry prir t 6.5/6.6/6.7 (Standalne) and TS 4.0 r befre Yu can perfrm an upgrade t the latest versin f Repsitry directly frm versins 6.5 and later. There is n need fr incremental upgrades befre attempting t upgrade t Repsitry. 1. Install the latest versin f Team Server and Repsitry. 2. On the ER/Studi Repsitry Database Setup page, if yu were als using Team Server 4.0 r previus, select Specify lcatin fr Team Server database. This will expand the infrmatin fields. Upgrade cnfiguratin If yu are upgrading frm Team Server 16.x r later, yu already have ne unique cmbined database, s yu can directly fllw the steps n the repsitry setup. If yu have installed Team Server XE7 r any previus versin, including CONNECT r Prtal, yu need t specify the infrmatin t cnnect t its database. The new installer will cpy the Team Server database tables int the Repsitry database, after which bth Repsitry and Team Server Web will share the same database. 1. Check the ER/Studi Repsitry Database Setup page and intrduce repsitry database infrmatin. 2. Select Specify lcatin fr Team Server database, this will expand the infrmatin fields t include Team Server database infrmatin. 3. Fill the fields with the Team Server database infrmatin with the same structure than yu have intrduced previusly fr repsitry database. 4. If yur Prtal installatin was using a separate Slutin database, select Specify the lcatin f Slutin database Specify Prtal Slutin database details s the tables cpy t the Repsitry database. Imprtant ntes Always back up databases befre upgrading. Upgrading diagrams can be time cnsuming and memry intensive. The number and size f the diagrams managed in the upgrade dictates hw lng the upgrade prcess takes. Regardless f the prcess that yu must fllw t back up yur licenses, which depends n the previus versin that yu are upgrading frm and ther factrs, after yu restre yur licenses in yur new installatin, yu must lg in as a super user and use the Manage Users page t assign different types f available licenses t yur users. 12 Install r upgrade Team Server/Repsitry Please ensure that yu have read the Installatin and upgrade ntes befre prceeding. Repsitry 16.0 and later installatins are nw part f Team Server 16.0 and later (as apprpriate) installatins. T install r upgrade Team Server and Repsitry, run the new installer and fllw the steps. Yu need a user with administrative privileges t run the installatin wizard. Befre running the installer fr an upgrade, stp the IderaTeamServer service frm the Services cntrl panel. Yu may have t create a blank database befre starting the installatin, please check the Installatin and upgrade checklist. 1. Run the Repsitry & Team Server installer. If yu need t change the default prt r install lcatin, click Optins, and then make the apprpriate changes befre clicking Install. 2. Agree t the license terms, and then click Install. 3. After a successful setup, restart yur machine t cmplete the installatin prcess. 4. Launch the Team Server Cnfiguratr. This step launches bth the Web brwser and Team Server Cnfiguratr, which may take a few minutes. 5. Once the Cnfiguratr pens, lg in using Admin/Admin (case-sensitive). IDERA, Inc. 12

13 6. On the Installatin Optins page, chse yur installatin ptins. Nte that the ptins change based n yur selectins. 7. Cmplete the license infrmatin. Nte that the server that yu are installing n must have internet access t request a trial r register a serial number. If the machine des nt have internet access, first cnnect with a machine that des have internet cnnectivity using yur serial number (prvided in the license ), the URL and registratin cde displayed in the Unable t cnnect sectin at the bttm f the Installatin Optins page. a. In the IDERA Lgin r Address field, enter yur existing accunt name. If yu want t use the included trial license r want t request a custm trial license, select the ptin and cmplete the apprpriate fields. b. In the Passwrd field, enter the passwrd assciated with yur IDERA lgin. IDERA, Inc. 13

14 c. If yu already have a license, select that ptin and specify the serial number t register in the Serial Number field. If yu have a license file, please select the apprpriate ptin and use the Imprt frm File buttn t register. 8. Click Next. The ER/Studi Repsitry Database Setup page appears. 9. In the Repsitry Database Setup page, select the DBMS platfrm n which yu want t install, and then specify the infrmatin t cnnect t yur Repsitry database. After cnfiguring a new installatin against a SQL Server 2014 r later database, it is recmmended that yu g int the prperties f the new database and change the cmpatibility settings t 2012 r This step helps prevent significant perfrmance degradatin in many envirnments. If yu have installed Team Server, CONNECT, r Prtal in the past, please see Upgrading frm Team Server 4.0.x, CONNECT 3.0.x r ER/Studi Prtal 2.0.x a. In the Hst Name and Prt fields, type the hstname f the machine that cntains the Repsitry database. The prt number appears by default. If yu selected SQL Server: If the database server is a named instance, specify the Hst Name in the HstName\NamedInstanceName frmat. Fr example, DEWOW01\DBServer. Optinally, fr Micrsft SQL Server , yu can check Use SSL t enable the Secure Sckets Layer (SSL) cmmunicatin prtcl, which encrypts messages. When SSL is enabled, Team Server uses prts 80 and 443 fr secure cmmunicatins. Please check the SSL enablement requirements. It is pssible t have the installer create yur MSSQL database fr yu. If yu enter the name f a nn-existent database, the installer pps up a cnfirmatin windw, and then creates the database. IDERA, Inc. 14

(SQL Server nly) If SQL Server is the selected platfrm and a nn-default prt r named instance is used, an alias shuld be created with the SQL Server client utilities and specified here in the Alias field. Failure t create an alias des nt prevent the cmpletin f the Cnfiguratr but culd cause Repsitry cnnectin errrs frm ER/Studi Data Architect. c. In the Username and Passwrd fields, enter the username and passwrd used t access the Repsitry database. d. In the Database field, enter the name f the database that yu have previusly created t be yur Repsitry database. e. (Oracle nly) In the SID field, enter yur database identifier. If yu selected Use Oracle Service Name, the SID field will be Oracle Service Name. Enter the service name yu use. 10. Optinal. Click Test t check yur database cnnectin and t create r update any tables necessary. 11. If yu are installing fr the first time, skip ahead t Step 17. If yu are upgrading frm a previus versin f ER/Studi, cntinue with the next step. Please nte that the cnfiguratr displays the Migratin and Team Server Admin Accunt tabs nly if yu are upgrading. 12. Click Next. The Migrate Team Server page appears. D nt cmpete the Migrate Team Server page unless yu are upgrading frm Team Server r earlier. If yu are upgrading frm Team Server r earlier, specify the detail t cnnect t its database. The new installer cpies the Team Server database tables int the Repsitry database, then bth Repsitry and Team Server Web will share the same database. 13. Cmplete the fields with the Team Server database infrmatin with the same structure yu intrduced previusly fr repsitry database. IDERA, Inc. 15

16 14. Click Next. The Team Server Administratr Accunt page appears. 15. In the Team Server Administratr Accunt page, enter the administratr Team Server lgin credentials. This accunt is typically the Admin user and passwrd used when lgging int Repsitry frm ER/Studi Data Architect. 16. Optinal. Click Test t check yur Team Server credentials. 17. Click Next. The Windws Service Accunt page appears. 18. In the Windws Service Accunts page, type the credentials fr the Windws user accunt yu want t use within Team Server. This page wrks best as a service accunt that is nt required t have regular passwrd changes. Administratrs need t ensure that the accunt used fr the Windws Service Accunt has prper permissins n the applicatin server. Yu can verify these settings by ging t Administrative Tls > Lcal Security Plicy > Lcal Plicies > User Rights Assignment. The user accunt shuld have lcal administrative privileges, and specifically the fllwing privileges are required: Act as part f the perating system Create a tken bject Lg n as a batch jb Replace a prcess-level tken Nte that this accunt must nt have the Deny lg n lcally permissin. a. In the Windws User field, enter the name f a Windws user that Team Server can use t lg int the system. The user accunt must have lcal administrative privileges. The name shuld be in the frmat "machine_name\username". IDERA, Inc. 16

In the Passwrd field, enter the passwrd f the Windws user lgin credentials t be used by Team Server t interact with repsitry (case-sensitive): Leave it blank t keep using Admin/Admin t lg int ER/Studi Repsitry. If yu want t mdify the super user lgin t enter int ER/Studi Repsitry, intrduce the infrmatin. If the lgin des nt exist, it is created. 19. Optinal. Click Test t check yur Windws accunt credentials. 20. Click Next t cntinue. The ptinal HTTPS Setup page appears. 21. In the ptinal HTTPS Setup page, yu can chse t enable HTTPS (SSL). It is recmmended that yu enable secure cmmunicatins as this will keep yur passwrd transmissins secure. a. Optinally, select Enable Secure Cmmunicatin (HTTPS) t enable it. b. If yu d nt have SSL set up n yur server, yu can select the Self-Signed ptin t walk yu thrugh the shrt wizard that creates a Keystre file allwing yu t use encryptin. Fill ut the fields f the Self-Signed wizard, and then click Generate. The Keystre file is created in the lcatin f yur chsing. c. If yu already have SSL set up n yur server, directly enter the infrmatin required. 22. Click Next. The ptinal Single Sign-On page appears. IDERA, Inc. 17

In the ptinal Single Sign-On page, check Use LDAP server fr authenticatin t use the Lightweight Directry Access Prtcl (LDAP) and enable the ability fr users t lg int Team Server using their dmain username and passwrd. Yu can enable LDAP authenticatin any time later: a. In the LDAP URL field, enter the URL f the server running LDAP. b. In the Manager DN field, enter the distinguished name fr the user that is used t authenticate users. Team Server uses this t cnnect t the LDAP server and validate user credentials. Fr example, CN=administratr,CN=Users,DC=mydmain,DC=cm In this example, administratr is used. In which case, Users is defined as a cntainer rather than an rganizatinal unit as is the Micrsft Active Directry default. Yur user accunts may be in an rganizatinal unit; in this case, yu wuld specify it differently, fr example, CN=user1,OU=sales,DC=mydmain,DC=cm. c. In the Manager Passwrd field, enter the passwrd fr the administrative user. d. In the Search Base field, enter the name f the rt nde in LDAP frm which t search fr users. Fr example, CN=Users,DC=mydmain,DC=cm. e. In the Search Attribute field, enter the attribute in LDAP hlding the user's lgin name. Fr example, samaccuntname (fr ActiveDirectry). f. In the Test User / Test Passwrd fields, enter the username and passwrd f a sample user t attempt t authenticate against the LDAP server. The installer uses this infrmatin t validate the given LDAP infrmatin befre mving t the next page. g. Click Test. If it is successful, this enables the Next buttn. 24. Click Next. The ptinal Enable ntificatin page appears. 25. In the ptinal Enable Ntificatin page, check Allw users t send search results and reprts by frm Team Server using SMTP. Yu can enable ntificatins anytime later: I. In the Address field, enter the address that yu want t use as the sender f the s sent frm Team Server. Yu may want t prepare a special address n yur server fr this purpse. IDERA, Inc. 18

In the Server and Prt fields, enter the hst name f the server (fr example, "mail"), the fully qualified netwrk name (fr example: "mail.example.cm"), r the IP address (fr example: " ") and the prt number where the server is listening. The default prt is 25. Optinal. Check Requires Authenticatin if yur server requires authenticatin. When yu check this ptin, the User Name and Passwrd fields are highlighted. Fill them with the required values t authenticate Team Server against yur STMP server. 26. Optinal. Click Test t check yur server cnnectin. 27. Click Next. The Cnfiguratin Executin page appears. 28. Click Start t execute initializatin/migratin. The fllwing image is an example f a new installatin cnfiguratin executin. IDERA, Inc. 19

If yu are upgrading frm ER/Studi Team Server/Repsitry 16.1 r earlier, yu must run the Diagram Data Versin Upgrade in ER/Studi Data Architect t upgrade yur diagrams t the latest release. Mdify cnfiguratin Yu can mdify the cnfiguratin at any mment by ging t the Cnfigure Team Server shrtcut in Windws at Start > All Prgrams > Team Server x.x > Cnfigure Team Server. 21 Upgrading diagrams in Data Architect (16.1 r earlier upgrades nly) If yu are upgrading t the latest versin f ER/Studi Enterprise Team Editin frm Team Server/Repsitry 16.1 r earlier, yu must run the Diagram Data Versin Upgrade t upgrade yur existing diagrams. This prcess assumes that yu already upgraded Data Architect t the latest versin. T upgrade diagrams: 1. After upgrading Team Server/Repsitry t the latest versin, launch ER/Studi Data Architect frm the client machine and lg int the Repsitry with the Admin user credentials. 2. G t Repsitry > Administratin > Diagram Data Versin Upgrade t upgrade yur diagrams t the latest versin. Once yu upgrade yur diagrams, yu cannt pen any f the diagrams using a previus versin f ER/Studi Data Architect. IDERA, Inc. 21

22 3. On the cnfirmatin message windw, review the infrmatin including the warning, and then click OK. 4. On the Select Lg File Lcatin windw, chse a lcatin t place the upgrade lg in case issues ccur during the upgrade. 5. Depending n the size and number f mdels in the Repsitry, the upgrade culd take a few minutes. Once the diagram upgrade is cmplete, users can lg in and begin using Team Server 18.0 Repsitry. Select these diagrams using the check bxes, and then click Publish Selected. Fr thse envirnments having mre than 50 mdels, it is recmmended that a single mdel be published first. 23 Uninstalling Team Server T remve an installatin f Team Server and Repsitry: Ntes 1. Select Start > Prgrams > Team Server X.X > Uninstall Team Server t start the uninstallatin wizard. 2. On the Welcme page, click Next. 3. On the Summary Infrmatin page, review the infrmatin and click Uninstall. 4. Once the uninstallatin prcess is cmpleted, click Finish t clse the uninstallatin wizard. 5. After yu clse the uninstallatin wizard, yu are given the chice t rebt immediately r at a later time. Fr a cmplete uninstallatin, a system rebt may be required. Make yur selectin and click Finish. When Team Server is uninstalled, the backup flder remains in the disk. In case yu are uninstalling Team Server with n plans t install it again, remember yu can delete this flder manually.
